:angry7:I have started getting sells calls on my mobile phone now that I started putting my phone number on all the survey sites. Education, free Government money and home security, The Education is the one I get the most several times a day, time to get on the Do Not Call List.
Anyone else have this happen? :crybaby2:

I hate that too my home phone rings all the time very annoying...so now i do not give out my real number did what someone posted on here before I don't feel right about it because I feel like I am lying and I am usually a really honest person.
-
I keep getting calls from different colleges about taking courses
-
I don't give my home number at all! I use my CELL phone. That seems to help.
:peace:

Don't give out phone numbers unless you are interested in offers. Also, watch for charges on your phone bills that you may not have agreed to.
-
Thats why i dont be bothered about doing the surveys most of them always want your number
-
Almost always, giving a phone number is OPTIONAL. The only time I have encountered a mandatory phone number given is for a credit card app or something bank related. DO NOT just give out your number on a random sales/survey site.
Going further, you can block numbers on most cell phones, look into see what you carrier does for annoying SPAM calls and texts. Most often there's a plan in place to rid your phone of these types of calls completely.

Why would you use your real phone home or cell numbers? That is just asking for it. You need to sign up for a google phone number online and use that. It's free and then your home number won't get spammed.
-
agree with everyone here. For the calls you are getting now, you can either block them or tell them directly to stop calling and if they don't they'll be reported for harassment. Don't give out your number in the future.

quit crying for giving out your phone number, what do you expect for them not to call it? I use a prepaid virgin mobile optimus V phone and I set it on vibrate or airplane mode.
People complaining about being spammed for free money :binkybaby:

Most of the time on surveys you can just not enter phone number and complete survey. Sometimes there is a "hidden button" that says something like "no thanks". Giving out phone numbers is definitely OPTIONAL as stated in this topic posts.

I never heard of a Google online phone number, but I will certainly look into it. Sounds like a great idea. It never ceases to amaze me what I learn in this forum. Thanks for mentioning it!

Yes, its an annoying thing.,This site makes you sign up for other sites, dont get it. Its like saying Im in business but if you go, the other business owner, they will take all your business. If you make the suggestion, hey,if you go this site and sign up then you can join. If they offer better benefits, would you go back??

I get them too :-

It is annoying to get unwanted phone calls all the time. I get a lot of calls from colleges and some cruise line saying that I have won a cruise. Anyway I start answering the phone and just asked them to take me off of their list because I feel like I am being harassed. Surprisingly the calls stopped.

I have to say as of yesterday I got 0 zero phone calls, my home phone I changed to my internet number and I told everyone that called before that I was not interested and I was going to put them on the FED gov do not call list.
-
Yes, I have this kind of call often, even you answering the phone and no one answer it. You can check out the web EveryCall....good luck
-
I've been getting a ton of calls too but I just ignore them if I don't recognize the number. I also get a phenomenal amount of junk mail, but luckily I use a separate email for surveys and offers and keep my regular one just for friends and family.
-
hate those
-
Maybe only do the offers on this site that don't ask you to provide your phone number. It can be a little annoying at times.
-
I am telling you, DON'T GIVE Y :bootyshake:OUR HOME NUMBER! (you are asking for a sales rep to call you!) I use my cell phone, or an ex girlfriends! LOL ;D
:peace:
-
:) ex GFs number.. :) he he thats good one
-
I got a text saying I won a Gift card. It looked bogus, so I didn't go to the website.
-
I had that happened on my home phone. I guess it helps to read their privacy policy. What you could do at the moment is to place a do not call list.

I got that EXACT SAME text on my cell phone! I just ignored it. :bootyshake:

They are annoying calls sometimes and on some stuff they ARE NOT OPTIONAL. On some of the stuff through FC you either put a real number down or you can't move to the next page. Also, as far as I go I don't mind putting my real number down and even though it can be annoying all you have to do is let it go to voice mail and if it's a number you don't know just delete it. If you have a plan that you need to conserve on minutes even listening to your voicemail I say once you hear or see a number come up delete it immediately. That's all I do or if I know I'm not going to be needing my cell phone I just put it on vibrate and I NEVER put my home phone number down.

This is what those Safelink phones are for!

Make sure you have your phone number listed at the Do Not Call Registry (a government site; you can Google it). It keeps almost all the riff-raff at bay. If you get a call you do not want, tell the caller you are listed at the Do Not Call Registry and not to call you again. It really works
-
I put both my cell phone and home phone on the do not call list.

I give my CELL phone number out but not my home number. :icon_rr:  :star: ;D :angel11:

me too all day keep receiving calls and text messages :) :)
-
I usually don't give out my number unless I really want the offer. Lately there has been one number calling me over and over but there is nothing on the other end when I pick up, no message or anything. If I call the number back it says the message box is full.

Oh gosh lol.....this hs recently happened to me also....so many annoying calls on my cell phone...it used to just be the house phone but now they are calling the cell looking for all different people trying to sell stuff.
