With the weather getting nicer, I know more of us are out garage saling. What was your best garage sale find this weekend?
I got some brand new jeans for 50 cents and my mom found a Disney statue that goes for @$200 on ebay for $5.

Older Tiffany frame worth a few hundred dollars for a quarter!

I have not been to a yard sale. Maybe, when I visit my cousins, I'll about it.

I found a nice condition mirror for $20, but other than that I don't find many "treasures" at a garage sale. As to a great find this all depends how much value you place on the item. One person's garbage is another person's treasure. The same can be said if you intend to sell the item. You can maybe price the item a certain way, but the dollar value is only as much as your audience is willing to pay for it.

I live in a smaller town where they have 'clean up days'- people throw out ANYTHING, and you can look at it if you want a TV, books, etc. I found pick up stix from 1974, sold them on ebay for 125 bucks!!

I have never bought anything from a garage sale. I have donated items through somebody’s home who held a garage sale many years ago.

Hubby found a bucket of fishing poles/rods for $20 at a rummage sale. We have sold all but a few for $100 so far.

I haven't found anything of great value yet at any of the yard sales but I do love to look around.

I found an Italian made simple design leather small crossover purse. The owner said she paid over $100 for it apx. 15-20 years ago. Bought if for $1. And, it's in real good condition. I also picked up a few quite small sterling silver pieces of jewelry solely for the silver value for $1! I love garage/yard sales. It's like treasure hunting to me. :cat: :fish:

So today I am finding out that my best find this weekend was a stuffed Minnie Mouse I got for 25 cents. My daughter has been carrying it around with her everywhere she goes.

I haven't had much luck this year (a few books or CDs), but last year I had several great finds.... I bought a solid cherry desk ~7-feet long for only $50, a very small china cabinet that I'm using as a liquor stand / bar (glasses in the top part with the glass doors; bottles of liquor in the bottom cabinets; and wine corkscrews, tumblers, and other misc. utensils related to alcohol in the drawers) for $10, and someone's old CD collection (50+ CDs total) for about $5.
And several years ago I was garage sale hunting, and came across an estate auction. Since I had just moved into my first house, this was an excellent find for furniture and tools that I was needing in my house: 3 TVs with TV stands, a sofa, a large china cabinet, grass trimmer, and other yard tools. I also picked up a china set for 12-settings (I'm guessing about 75-pieces total) for $20 (I looked on e-bay and one dinner plate in that collection was averaging about $15).
