Sorry that you have to go through that.  I know how hard it is.  :(  It always helps me to try and remember that they had a long, happy life with a loving family.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Your 20 years with your cat is a lot longer than most marriages these days.  It's hard to do but when it's to end their suffering at least you can feel that you're doing that last kindness.  I had to put 3 dogs to sleep and I always stayed by their side until they were gone, so that they knew they were loved as they left this world.

I am sorry to hear of your loss, pets are like members of the household and it is a sad event when they pass.  I had an Afghanhound for 15 years and I still miss her to this day, it has been 10 years since I had to have her put down, it is never an easy thing.  :sad1:

I'm so sorry.  My pets are like my children.  Your cat will be waiting for you on the Rainbow Bridge.

 >:( So sorry for you.  That is the only thing about pets - they become part of the family and such a part of our lives that it is so hard when they have to be put down or die.  I have a little dog that is with me 98% of the time and I can't imagine life without her.  I truly am sorry you are having to go thru this, I'll pray for peace for you.  :crybaby2:

I totally know the feeling.  My cats are my kids too.  At least 20 is a good old age for a cat.  I'm sure you have lots of happy memories.  Keep those in mind.  Take care.   :'(

I am so very sorry for your loss.  I have had to do that a few times myself.  About 3 years ago I had to put down my beautiful Zoie that I had for about 20 years and a few weeks later I also had to do the same for my sickly "Wendle"  who was the love of my life.... a huge big orange kitty that loved me so very much.  I cry everytime I think about it.

So sorry to hear that.  I just went through that in January this year with my 15yr old mini Schnauzer.  It is like losing a member of the family.  Just be strong (easier said than done).  You will see them again.  Remember you gave them a good life.  Keep your chin up.   :angel11:

I am sorry to hear that - please accept my condolences.  I know what it's like to lose a pet, it's really losing a member of the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I know how difficult that is to go through, I had to have my four year old cat put to sleep last July because of an unexpected blood clot.  I held him while the vet administered the lethal injection and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do--- I will always miss him so very much.  A friend had told me something that I'm going to tell you because it helped a little.  "Your cat was lucky to have a person on this earth that thought they were the most special cat in the world...alot of cats don't ever get the chance to have that as they are euthanized because noone will or can give them a home before their luck runs out."
Something else that has helped some is I had a few friends that did NOT like cats.  They knew how much I loved mine, and they knew how sad I was when I lost my "Tony".  When I adopted my first new kitten, they decided to get one themselves.  Some of them have added a second, third, fourth.  I adopted a second.  There's about a dozen kittens that have gotten homes with people that "thought" they didn't like cats just because I was always talking about how much fun "Tony" was---that's kinda great.
Take comfort in the happy times you shared together, and sometimes the best "medicine" is to adopt another...there are always so many kittens/cats that need a loving home.
     *hugs*

I'm really sorry about you having to put your cat to sleep.  Our pets mean so much more to us than just animals.  That's a hard decision to have to make.  ((Hugs))

That's so sad.  We almost had to do that with my first dog but she ended up just dying in our house pretty much in the same spot she slept in when we first got her.  Honestly, a pet's death is almost equivalent to losing a family member sometimes.  My friends got a dog just a few years ago and they did a 180 from "why can't you stay longer, your dog can survive," to "I'm going to get pizza and the dog is coming with me."

It sounds like your cat had a good long life though and I'm sure she knew you loved her, hence why she lived beyond what most cats do.  You should be happy that you made that kind of connection with an animal.  I'm sorry you have to go through this though.

I am so sorry to hear that you must put your cat to sleep but at age 20 you have given him/her a good life.

I can totally sympathize with you as I been in your position quite a few times ... my oldest was almost 21 when
I had to put him to sleep.

My prayers are with you in your time of need.  My mom has a diabetic cat who is 18 years old. We all love her dearly.

So sorry to hear that. Had my kitty for 18 wonderful years. Born the same year as my daughter, and they grew up together. Wish they could live as long as we do :crybaby2:
