A girlfriend had this combo at a restaurant in Chicago and keeps raving about it... I have tried searching for a recipe, but can't find one. So--- this afternoon I am going to experiment! I'll let you know how it turns out!

umm bacon is good, the honey probably is to balance out the spice of the jalapeno. It sounds like some good popcorn. Let me know how it turns out.

mmmm...that sounds tasty :)

I have never been big on popcorn. I do like caramel flavored though.

Sounds interesting. I hope to hear how you like it. It probley won't be the same as at the restaurant though.

Could be good i guess :)

Good luck you masterchef!!!! But seriously, that's a major flavor combination you are undertaking. If you prove successful you should know that you may have a natural talent for cooking/seasoning/preparing food.

Wow, that's a whole lotta flavors going on there! At first I was thinking that wouldn't be good, but then after thinking about each combo, I realized it was more that it was different which gave me my first impression. But different doesn't necessarily mean bad. I used to always think of bacon as an ingredient for savory dishes, but I've seen more and more where it's being used in sweet dishes as a way to give the sweet-salty flavor combo. Then one day I went to Old Country Buffet with a friend and for dessert, she made a sundae and sprinkled bacon-bits over the top instead of peanuts. And it actually tasted pretty good! So with this popcorn, you'll get the sweet-salty from the honey and bacon, and the Jalpenos will just give it that extra bite (like adding a little cayenne to Mexican hot chocolate). I think chocolate might also be good in place of the honey.... hmmm.... Let us know how it turns out!

I ended up making my own version. Since most of my family wouldn't appreciate jalapenos, I make bacon and honey popcorn.
I melted about 1/2 stick of butter with about 1/4 cup of honey and I added a little Liquid Smoke to the mixture. I poured that over a bag of microwave popcorn and tossed in about 6 slices of crispy bacon (crumbled up) and some bacon salt (yes, there is bacon salt!).... Everyone LOVED it.
I'll try adding the jalapenos next time (once I figure out if they should be fresh or canned)

Hi Shapingmyhome, I didn't really have a recipe, just a combo of stuff I found online (see previous post). I have yet to try it with jalapenos, but will update when I do!
