It went by so fast, (hence the "mania" part), that I'm just now looking over some of the wacky things posted. Although there are several cut-and-pasted "jokes" which should have been disqualified & deleted under the Post Mania rules, many others were actually funny.

Kohler, thanks for a wonderful Post Mania!! You had everything organized and it ran smoothly! It was fun trying to post on the cash earning numbers. I like how you separated the Trivia, Word Scramble, and Quotes, into their own threads separate of the Posting thread. I also liked how you locked the thread for each stopping point. Otherwise, I would have just kept going! I really enjoyed this! I was shocked when I actually landed on the last number! Thank you for the cash opportunities, very much!!

I'm so sorry I missed this contest. This is the first time I've read about it and it sounds like something I would have loved to participate in. I do hope there will be another post mania in the future. Everyone seems to have really enjoyed it. I'm not quite sure how it worked, but would love the opportunity to figure it out. My first clue that it took place was when I checked the latest mini promotion and it was asking if I participated in the post mania. That's when I started doing some research into what I missed!

If you're trying a veiled accusation against me (since roughly 98% of my posts were jokes), you should know I spent three hours before the post mania writing jokes down in a notebook and re-writing them to fit the three line format.NOTHING was cut and paste.I personally think it's more fun to put some thought into the posts.That's why I tried to find something to post that appealed to me,like humor.

It's interesting that you assumed the reference was to you, "jedijohnnie", when no one was specifically mentioned. It's also intriguing that you further claim "nothing was cut and paste" when all of 'your' posted jokes come not from you but, from online joke pages, (which would make such cut-and-pasting easy to do for a speed-posting contest). Since you've decided to not pretend you're "ignoring" my posted comments just to defensively reply to a post which did not accuse you by 'nym, your denial of cheating in Post Mania becomes dubious.

It was half-expected that at least one xtian fundamentalist would try that, although it would've violated the Post Mania rule against cut-and-paste, (just as cutting and pasting altered existing jokes would).

Blah blah blah - take this elsewhere. It is 100% impossible to determine if someone is cutting and pasting. They could type up several sentences in notepad prior to the contest and then cut and paste them into the message body. Can I stop this? No. So I guess I will just have to never do one again.

'Shoot the messenger'? On the contrary, a participant who may have done as Kohler noted with cut & pasting would be more responsible for that than someone who objects/'complains' about it. Nevertheless, Post Mania was otherwise a fun event.

The evidence is circumstantial, (although the content was available from existing websites/published material), and as you pointed out, it is 100% impossible to determine if someone is cutting and pasting conclusively.

Just sorry to hear that a few are complaining, and yes falcon 9 i did intend to say "shoot the messenger" just did not want to point fingers, even though I am not sure who the messenger would be. Anyways, I won't dwell on it- glad to hear that people had a good time with the post mania.

Understood, but making accusations based on circumstantial evidence is just stirring the pot for no reason. Next time you will have to include one of several words for it to count - words that would not easily be found on the internet. If you have any other suggestions as to help the cause, I am open to suggestions.

Well, there was a reason; compliance with the rules of the contest however, you've pointed out the difficulties in enforcing such a rule. True, a search for the keywords used in the contended posts could be done were the thread still available but, there'd still be no conclusive way to connect such evidence with the circumstantial accusation without subpoening a computer's hard-drive. Obviously, that goes well beyond a non-criminal online contest. That being the case, I'm not sure what could be done to limit the c&p potential other than to rely upon the honor system.
There was no intention to stir any posts for no reason however, I apologize if that was the effect such an inquiry had.

Yes, I would like to avoid going through everyone's personal computer to match up a line of text. And it is not a big deal - next time I hope the inclusion of a FusionCash related word will qualm any fear of people trying to go around and cheat (and I am not saying someone did cheat - only they know if they did)

That inclusion is a good idea and may help to alleviate some of the potential for cheating. As you say, it isn't that big of a deal with only relatively small bonuses involved and some people do have honor. Thanks, Kohler.

That "sounds" like a guilty conscious whining about FC's contest rules, (provided there is any 'consciousness' in doing so). Say, "John", what happened to your claim about "ignoring" my posts?

I'd like to think those around the forum who know me at this point,could see that lying is not in my character.I just will not tolerate being called a cheater.
I only took Falcon off ignore for a moment,because knowing his character as I do,I was sure he'd gripe about something.
I enjoyed bringing some humor to the post mania and I hope others were at least somewhat amused.I've nothing else to say in the matter. :wave:

I would think the reason for no cut and paste is so someone doesn't have the advantage of quicker posts. I will say that it didn't seem to me that anyone was posting a whole lot faster than anyone else, so whatever. On a different note, I had a hard time stopping my 3 sentence conversation. It's a good thing it was late in the evening so I could sleep it off. People were starting to look at me funny! Thanks again!!! :o

Invitations open to all FC members were posted by FC staff in the weeks prior to Post Mania. At first, offer completion was required however, Kohler opened participation up to anyone who wanted to opt-in thereafter. So far, the promotion was offered once a year. This year's Post Mania ended earlier this month.
