Title: Sandusky found guilty
Post by: mjoseph1 on June 22, 2012, 09:26:04 pm

I follow college football fairly closely.  This whole situation has been very troubling in my opinion.  Jerry Sandusky was a great football coach, and on the surface appeared to be a great man.  Joe Paterno and Tom Bradley were also great coaches and knew something wasn't right with Sandusky's involvement with youth, but either did nothing or not enough.  There will forever be a black mark upon not only the Penn State football program, but the whole university.  I'm glad that justice was served and Sandusky was found guilty.

It will never be over for the victims but how hard it must have been for them to come testify in front of strangers. I hope they find some and healing.

He is a very sick man and he really should be going to a hospital for the criminally insane. I feel so sorry for the people who he tortured. I hope they all sue him because he should pay for heir treatment. He should be treated as well because he is crazy. :angry7: :angry7: :angry7:

I am glad that this sordid affair has finally come to some sort of resolution--but it bothers me a bit to hear people cheering about the verdict.  I think it was the only correct verdict--but I see nothing here to cheer about.

Very happy about the verdict.  Still unbelieveable how long they let that sort of thing go on when they all knew something wasn't right.  Should of spoke up a lot sooner.

Glad it is over. It is hard to judge other people however, it is also hard to ignore the words of so many boys. It could not have been a coinsidence or conspiracy. That man is messed up and should have his appeals shut down quickly.

Glad that there was a guilty verdit in this case. Unfortunately there have been more situations like this that have been swept under the rug and kept out of the public.

His "victims" aren't exactly little boys! How many little boys play college football? They should have had enough sense and enough guts not to go along with him.

It just goes to show that some people have dark places in their souls and the way things are today, it's easy enough to gratify the dark side at the risk of hurting innocents.

In some ways I feel sorry for him because I don't think he believes he did anything wrong.  In his mind he was just showing affection.  It's disgusting and wrong and my heart goes out to the victims.  It's just a sad situation.  It troubles me that this goes on and no one speaks up.

He deserves to go away for the rest of his life for doing what he did to those kids.

I couldn't be happier for the conviction but sadder for the lives of the children he ruined.  I hope he gets his in prison .

I think that a prayer for his victims and another for his soul is in order.  If my boy had been one of the many that he was involved with I would not be as passive.  I would say an additional prayer for my soul because Jerry Sandusky wouldn't have made it into the legal system.  I would have performed my own justice.  I think that everyone is being gentle with him because he looks like a sweet old man instead of a demented, sick pervert.  What if he looked like a tattooed rapper...do you think that everyone would be handling him as delicately as they are with Sanduskey?

You can't consider an entire university to be at fault for the actions of a few individuals.

the guy obviously was guilty. even his lawyer couldn't keep a straight face. he wanted to get out of being his lawyer. even sandusky knew he was guilty. he had no expressions about it one way or another.

[/quote His "victims" were actually 9 and ten years old at the time when they were abused.]
