does anyone think they know what will happen? I hope nothing.
-
We'll get cooler, on average, around the winter solstice.
-
What did we hear about the year Y2K?
-
I don't know what might happen in December and I am not to going to worry about.
-
Sorry ... I just don't buy into the whole end of the world theory ... even if it does happen . we won't be around to know anyway
-
Nothing will happen...if anything happens then it will be the rapture. The world just wont end.

There are no valid reasons for anything untoward to occur this winter solstice; which would include faith-based nonsense like "raptures".

My husband and I have watched videos about people preparing for the end of the world. I think we will do it to ourselves. We litter, and pollute the air. Our world is just dying slowly.
-
What did we hear about the year Y2K?
Yes, here we go again. I didn't believe anything would happen then, and I don't believe anything will happen this time around. Of course, it's always a good idea to stock up on basic survival stuff, just because you never know what natural disasters (or man-made ones) will happen at any given time, and it's good to be preparedfor that. But That is true at any time. I don't know who starts these rumors, but I think they do it just to test how far they can go with mind control and mass brainwashing.
-
For our karaoke show, I'm planning on getting together an "End of the World" playlist... Songs like, "It's the End of the World" by REM, "The Final Countdown" by Europe, and Prince's "1999". Maybe by this time, some other artist will have something along those lines to include...
-
Pray that we live to make it to December because tomorrow isn't even promised
-
I don't believe anything is going to happen, but my teenage daughter hears things and worries a little. I just make a joke and talk about all the silly things people say and do.
-
I don't think that anything is going to happen in December.
-
I don't think anything will happen December 21. I do think December 22 there will be quite a few people completely broke and looking pretty stupid.
-
I don't believe in any of the ideas people throw around. If it is the end of the world, so be it. Live your life today because you could die in a car crash on your way to work or in your sleep tomorrow.

No one knows but god
In that case, no one at all knows.

My spanish teacher said that there was simply going to be a change..i don't know what that means but i'm lookin forward to a little change considering it's imminent.
-
we never know from one minute to the next what is going to happen its always a smart idea to have things stocked up maybe not to the extreme but enough to take care of your family in case because we never never know .....as far as december being the end of the world doubt it
-
I'll be preparing for Christmas and spending time with my family eating lots of good food.
-
I am assuming that this question has to do with the MYAN calendar, or whatever? There was an article that came out recently that said that we have NOTHING to worry about. While there are those who actually BELIEVE that the world will end because there calendar ends, fact is it actually doesn't. It goes on and on and on.... I know that I copied it for JUST this reason, but of course, I forget where I placed it.... when I find it, I will put it up here. It dispels ALL these rumors.
:peace:
-
Other than Christmas I don't have any vacation time during the month of December. If there was an actual end of the world I wouldn't mind a forewarning beforehand, such as the movie "Seeking a Friend for the end of the World" where everyone is pretty certain about the scenario. From there I would try to make the most of everything and hopefully have a fun last adventure.

If You are alive, you go on living, if you are dead, you don't!!! Bazzinga!

What will happen is a bunch of people are going to dress up like Hobbits for the new Hobbit movie; along with one lone star wars fan waving a light sabre who didn't get the memo. =-P
-
People can live without a conspiracy or 2 in there lives. :icon_rr:
Y2K. hahah. I remember that crap. I was in New York then.
-
Nothing will happen to us in December. Just spending money on Christmas's gifts.
-
Nothing will happen in december for us to worry about, lol
-
I think absolutely nothing will happen. I think people just like to have something to be afraid of.
-
some of the best movies and video games of the year will be released. Also winter fashion will be popular.
-
In December we are going to have another Christmas and then another New Years Eve. Just cause the Mayan calander ends, we don't

If a Republican wins the election, then it might as well be the END OF THE WORLD!
I would rather die a quick death with my last sight watching the sun crash into earth then have a Republican take over the white house! I still can't believe how stupid the republican candidates are & how many brainless Americans can eat that bs/trash :bs: they are spewing to the public! :BangHead:
Death to the Republic; Democracy to the People! :peace:
-
If something happens, I'll deal with it then. There really is no point in freaking out about it now, in my opinion. If nothing happens, then I still need to keep living. If something does happen, I will deal with it then.

Nothing. It's Y2K all over again! The pop culture media is intent on making us all paranoid and people buy into it... because their normal lives aren't that entertaining, I'd guess. :P

So true. You don't know when you are going to die. My 73 year old uncle died while going to the kitchen to get another cup of coffee.
The Bible is very clear that NO ONE knows the day or the time except God.
Pastor Doug Batchelor does not understand the Bible as much as he thinks he does. If he had studied the Bible he has claimed he would have known that no one knows the day or the time except God.
He was proven to be a false prophet on 2 fronts by Biblical standards. 1) He does not and did not know the day and time. 2) He was wrong about the July 21 date.
If you're someone who doesn't believe in the God or the Bible, fine, but don't worry about this guy. He doesn't know what he is talking about. The world is going at God's choosing. Good Luck
I have learned from the Bible, I have enough to do without worry about that.
All the best,

most of us will live to see another day
-
An ancient Mayan artifact will be uncovered with an inscription that'll be translated roughly as, "made you look!".
-
I dont look that forward I live day to day. If I worried about decemeber I would miss out on today with my kids. I have a son that I am happy to have alive and each day he lives is a blessing. I hold that close to my heart. The rest is in gods hands
-
The rest is in gods hands
Fortunately, no it isn't since that's merely a superstitious religious belief, (without basis).

If they can not preditate the weather, how can they preditate the end onf the world.
-
life will go on as it always does.
-
I dont think about this i dont have time for the what "if" i have enough things to worry about if it happens it happens no sense in me wasting my time thinking about it
-
The world as we know it will come to an end, but that's already happened. How many things have changed since you were a kid? I remember people smoking in the grocery stores and $1.50 movie tickets. Gas was under a $1 per gallon and Pluto was a planet. We listened to music on vinyl and computers took up whole rooms. A lot has changed and that alone is enough to fulfill the predictions. :)
Energetically I believe that we're going to experience a shift in consciousness. People are becoming more aware of the consequences of our actions, how we affect the earth and it's creatures and future generations. :peace:
-
i hope im still living im taking it day by day
-
My personal opinion:
All of that the world would end everyone is talking about, humans killing humans thats ending someones world every day. Live the life, love, cry, hug, kiss and never leave nothing unsaid. What is destined to happen will happen. :peace:
-
If people really believe in the Mayan calendar and that the world will end then the world will end. I do find it very intriguing that not only the Mayan but 2 other ancient civilizations calendars all end on the same date! I don't know what will happen and honestly no one will until that day comes, December 21, 2012
-
Absolutely nothing. The most we will see is a rise taxes.
-
Nothing is going to happen. We will be fine. Only the Lord knows when the world is going to end.
-
Nothing is going to happen. We will be fine. Only the Lord knows when the world is going to end.
Which means, no one knows.
-
I didnt even know the world was supposed to end in Dec. Shouldnt have reminded me, now i'll have another problem to worrry about along with many others.
-
I plan to celebrate Christmas a s usual with my family. That's off if the rapture don't come and all true christians disappear from this palnet.

I hope that all of you are right and nothing will happen. But those of you who are sure of it, are ignorant. You can never be sure. Something could happen. I hope it doesn't tho. As far as "the rapture" We have just as good a chance that the terminator will come back in time from the future and save us all from skynet. Not kidding.
-
It is going to be cold. I will be sitting in front of a good fire toasting my toes. Am also hoping for snowy year we need the moisture.
-
I hope the weather will be better... much, much better than this summer!
-
no one really knows but the fact that it will be Christmas and cold.
-
We shall see in December...... :dontknow:
-
WE HAVE TO BE FAST WHEN U DO IT
-
we will live
-
Santa is getting ready for the trek!
:peace:
-
we will still celebrate christmas and probably have some snow.
-
I dont think anything will happen. It will be cold that's all.Hopefully a white christmas.I have heard about the world ending ever since I was a little girl.
-
I can not live in fear, you need to take one day at a time.
-
Whatever happens to us, it might be best that we don't dwell on it. Something might or might not happen so why reduce our present quality of life over something we have no control over.
-
not anything life will go as all ways did.
-
The sad part is, that NOTHING WILL HAPPEN AND MANY OF YOU WILL ACTUALLY SPEND TIME WORRYING ABOUT THIS!
(then again, matbe I am wrong!)LOL!
:peace:
-
I think we will have Christmas and then New Years Eve if we are lucky
-
It is amazing to see how many people actually believe this. If someone were to actually read the Bible, it does not say when the world is ending and none of the signs have taken place. I hope everyone is prepared for thier end, we never know how many days we have left with loved ones. But...the foolishness of this December, end of the world thing, is sad. Many people who are gullable, find themselves worrying about something only God has control over. Let it be, live life- you will regret it if you don't.
-
Most of us will gain a little weight.
-
lol! most of us will gain a little weight..hehe...Aint that the truth! Sad, but true...holiday food is a must!

We'll get cooler, on average, around the winter solstice.
LOL - I was about to write the same thing.

Well technically, that's generally for the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, it's a bit warmer generally at that time of year.
-
We'll get cooler, on average, around the winter solstice.
And we will probably get some snow in the northern tier states!!

Everyone will take some time off to celebrate Christmas!
No, not "everyone" will do so.
-
seriously the mayans ran out of paper..or whatever they were writing on...
-
No, misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a popular belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the day that the calendar will go to the next b'ak'tun, or Long Count cycle. These calendars were often carved into stone, something they didn't run out of.

-
I'm not worried about anything happening in december. I'm ready to go this year or 50 years from now. No one can't control when the world is gonna end so, why worry about it?
-
I believe only Christmas. Sorry for sounding dumb but what was supposed to happen? Not current on rapture, end of world , didnt hear anything about that, so Merry Christmas everyone if i'm not here to tell you. :angel12:
-
;) I don't feel any bad sight all time till now. So maybe nothing happen!
-
Nothing will happen, just like any other time they've "predicted" it would happen. We'll all go on with our lives and then some other nut will come up with a NEW date for the "next apocalypse." The way I see it, if you're the type of person who believes in God, well... He ain't gonna set a date and let you know when his wrath will be upon us.
-
For those of you that MIGHT take comfort in what bible says....
Jesus said no one but the father knows the end to this satanic,man-ruled system of things and Gods kingdom will rule earth as in heaven.Just like the prayer says.
Also God says the earth lasts till time indefinite.Nothing wrong with the earth. Its the system on it.
-
When you know the truth Jesus said it will set you free.In this case from all those man-made BS predictions.
-
We'll be enjoying Xmas time in December!
-
does anyone think they know what will happen? I hope nothing.
The world will end with fiery vengeance, duh.
-
The "truth" and specious religious superstitions have nothing in common.
When you know the truth Jesus said it will set you free.In this case from all those man-made BS predictions.

I see the value of the dollar continues to decrease at a rapid rate....

Absolutly nothing well happen it is a different type of calender. lions calender or something like that.

Do you mean "Mayan"? It actually derives from earlier meseoamerican Aztec and Olmec calendars.
-
I think we will be alright. People put a lot of different mombo jumbo stuff out there for entertainment,to get paid, or to scam you. Don't believe the hype!
-
Whatever will happen will happen when it will happen. There is really no way to predict the future. Some guess somethings right most guess things wrong but it is only a guess.
-
does anyone think they know what will happen? I hope nothing.
Just wondering exactly as to what you are referring too ???

Other than the Holidays, nothing else. Why, did you hear something?
-
I'm predicting a blizzard and that I will need a new calendar by the end of the month.
-
Experts estimate the system starts counting at 3114 B.C., and will have run through 13 baktuns, or 5,125 years, around Dec. 21. Experts say 13 was a significant number for the Maya, and the end of that cycle would be a milestone — but not an end.
Fears that the calendar does point to the end have circulated in recent years. People in that camp believe the Maya may have been privy to impending astronomical disasters that would coincide with 2012, ranging from explosive storms on the surface of the sun that could knock out power grids to a galactic alignment that could trigger a reversal in Earth's magnetic field.
Mexican government archaeologist Alfredo Barrera said Friday that the Maya tried to make predictions, but perhaps about more humdrum events like droughts or disease outbreaks.
"The Mayas did make prophecies, but not in a fatalistic sense, but rather about events that, in their cyclical conception of history, could be repeated in the future," said Barrera, of the National Institute of Anthropology and History.
Experts stressed that the ancient Maya, whose "classic" culture of writing, astronomy and temple complexes flourished from the year 300 to 900, were extremely interested in future events, far beyond Dec. 21.
"There are many ancient Maya monuments that discuss events far into the future from now," wrote Geoffrey Braswell, an anthropologist at the University of California at San Diego. "The ancient Maya clearly believed things would happen far into the future from now."
"The king of Palenque, K'inich Hanaab Pakal, believed he would return to the Earth a couple of thousand years from now in the future," Braswell wrote in an email to The Associated Press. "Moreover, other monuments discuss events even before the creation in 3114 B.C."
Science news from NBCNews.com Karen L. King / Harvard Vatican brands 'Jesus' Wife' papyrus as a fake
An ancient papyrus fragment which a Harvard scholar says contains the first recorded mention that Jesus may have had a wife is a fake, the Vatican said Friday.

Maggot guts help police identify body
..Only a couple of references to the 2012 date equivalency have been found carved in stone at Maya sites, and neither refers to an apocalypse, experts say.
Such apocalyptic visions have been common for more than 1,000 years in Western, Christian thinking, and are not native to Maya thought.
"This is thinking that, in truth, has nothing to do with Mayan culture," said Alexander Voss, an anthropologist at the University Of Quintana Roo, a state on Mexico's Caribbean coast. "This thing about looking for end-times is not something that comes from Mayan culture."
Braswell compared the Maya calendar, with its system of cycles within cycles, to the series of synchronized wheels contained in old, analogue car odometers.
"The Maya long count system is like a car odometer," Braswell wrote. "My first car (odometer) only had six wheels so it went up to 99,999.9 miles. That didn't mean the car would explode after reaching 100,000 miles."

nothing will happen to us. Do not worry the world will not end of this fiscal year.
-
Me personally, I believe is somthing happens it will not be when we expect it to it will come like a thief in the night, and I think it will be gradual. I have not went to church or anything in awhile, but I think and trust what the bible says on this stuff. I dont know why exactly why I stopped going other than feeling like everyone is judging me and puting me down and I quit going. I know we are all not perfect but with my health the way it is and my depression everyone knew I was on the edge and I was attack with words and than they started on myson and he quit going as well. We should not give that power to anyone but I have and now its hard for me to get back in the routeen.
-
The reference is to the end of a Mayan calendar cycle and beginning of another, It has nothing to do with unrelated biblical non-predictions or religious beliefs.

What usless bit of usuless garbage should we worry about next year?
Just wondering?
:peace:

Well the movie was pretty good but I hope its nothing like that. :dontknow:
-
Nothing bad I hope except the weather will be cooler and everything will be white!!

If I post it is giving credance to this silly story.

this is a scare tactic.
There is no rapture; there is resurrection and resurrection happens to all of us when we leave our bodies, whether we believe it or not.
Resurrection means restoring ourselves from our sinful nature to the original state as intended by God.
There is a foundation we stand on, the history of the past; it is also referred to as the merit of the age. We have more spiritual responsibility than prophets of the past.
God give us His Word and guidance; we are responsible to believe it, follow it, practice it to fulfill Heaven's Providence.
Resurrection can only come through earthly life. We receive spiritual vitality and energy when we live for the sake of others.
Ecclesiastes 1:4 "a generation comes and a generation goes but the earth remains forever."

we are making a mess of things polluting air and water. three main companies are taking public water and selling bottled water with a price tag. I saw an article on Yahoo the other day that say experts say the Mayans did not predict an apocalypse at all. They estimate the system starts counting at 3114 B.C. and will have run through 13 baktuns, or 5,125 years, around December 21. Thirteen was a significant number to the Mayans and the end cyle would be a milestone, but not the end. Some people just got paranoid and assumed the worst. No one on Earth can predict the end of the world. Only God can answer that question.
-
It will likely be very cold here, with snow probably on the ground and life moving on as usual.
-
Just remember when the myans did the calendar they didnt include leap year so it should have happen long ago
-
The same thing that happen last DEC. the Republicans will fight with Democrats about taxes and want to make sure the rich get they tax cuts and the middle class and poor be even more poor. Plus we will celebrate Christmas and get ready for a new year of the GOV. screwing us. 8) :o :bs:

So many people have said the world would end at a certain time and it never does in the past. Only God know when it will end, not even Jesus know when. Just read you Bible, it is all in there. May God bless each of you and keep you safe. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
-
So many people have said the world would end at a certain time and it never does in the past. Only God know when it will end, not even Jesus know when. Just read you Bible, it is all in there.
No date is predicted for an ELE, (Extinction Level Event), in any version of the 'bible'. There is no evidence to support such religious beliefs and those remain unsubstantiated speculations based upon 'faith', (which is a lack of evidence).
-

No one said anything about a date in the Bible. These people that are trying to predict the end, must have nothing better to do. Only God knows when the world will end. If He wanted to provide a date, he would have. Until God decides it's time, I will continue to live the way I do and study.
-
The Mayans never said the world would end, just their calendar!! Humanity will wipe itself out long before the world does.
-
 there is nothing going to happen in december. if the world has a disaster there is nothing as individuals we can do to prevent it. since the beginning of time man has had to overcome all sorts of disasters man-made and natural and we would overcome them again
-
since the recession my world ended in 2009 when i lost my job. havent been able to get back on my feet and things keep getting worse. Maybe in Dec. something good will happen :)
-
we all will be around in jan no one can tell us when the world will end or how

The other faith-blinded xtian implied there was, "Just read you Bible, it is all in there", (in reference to "the end", sans a date).
These people that are trying to predict the end, must have nothing better to do. Only God knows when the world will end. If He wanted to provide a date, he would have. Until God decides it's time, I will continue to live the way I do and study.
These people relying upon such blind faith must have nothing better to do either. Such religious superstitions have no bearing on an ELE and can be disregarded as specious.
-
EVeryone will say they never believed in it, and make fun of those that did, even when they did. Read the Bible, God gave us the answers, people just are like duh...How much plainer could it get, but yet the devil blinds those who don't want to accept truth
-
No, blind religious faith is what blinds believers to reason, (religious superstitions do not qualify as "truth", being based upon a lack of evidence).
... yet the devil blinds those who don't want to accept truth
-
Whatever happens we will all be in it together, so let's take this opportunity to be kind to each other and be happy. This is something that happens a lot but we do not know what the truth is until that time comes. Let's not feed the fear, the fear will only divide us. Let's stand together. :angel11:
