It is really hot out side what are you doing to stay cool?
-
staying indoors mostly, a/c and fans running. not tooooo bad right now as storms are coming up!
-
No a/c so we keep lots of fans going. I also wet my hand with cold water and wipe it on the back of my neck occasionally. Drinking lots of ice water!

I feel very sorry for you :o... It was 103 here today, and tomorrow it's supposed to be (at least) 106 degrees. A/C and fans constantly running... poor electric bill :BangHead:

It's getting warmer here in SoCal.

I had some free nights at a hotel so I turned up my AC, shut down my household and came to stay cool for a few days! Not only are the rooms free, but it is a moneymaker since I can save on my electricity bill! Got to be creative when you can!

Staying inside as much as i can. Eating lots of cool foods/liquids.

It has been over 100 degrees for a couple of weeks now. I don't remember when it has been this hot this long. I work at Walmart so I don't have to work in the heat and I keep my AC on at home. I feel sorry for the people that work in factorys. I did before I retired the first time and it was always hotter inside than it was out. Hope everyone has a great day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

As someone who USED to work for a Utility, if you are not home all day because you work, there is no need to cool the house as when you are home! Raise the thermostat a few degrees and when you come home you can lower it if you want. THUS saving you money and not putting a strain on the system with unnecessary usage! (My company would be so proud of me…) That being said, IT IS HOT!!!!
-
It's 101 here. We were out of power for several days after the recent storms and boy did we miss that AC.
-
Not sure where you live but hope the humidity is not to high. That really makes it hard to stay cool. Have a great summer
-
ha ha ha...doing surveys!!!!!
-
Since I got sunburnt yesterday... I am taking it cool with the AC and drinking plenty of water.
-
Stay indoors with the a/c on to stay 8) .
-
The best way to beat the heat is to stay indoors, drink lots of fluids, and eat veggies and fruits with lots of water content like cucumber, strawberries and water melon, and ofcourse use your a/c as needed.
-
We are now at 87 degrees now but not humid. Talked to my brother in Rochester New York, they were hot and humid. That sure makes it hard to cool down. A swamp cooler is out of the question when it is humid
-
Just stay inside the house and eat ice cream.
-
Yeah that is a great idea. Only I have to walk to the store to get it right now. But oh will it be good when I get back. Have a nice FusionCash day
-
It's going to be a long HOT Summer. Stay 8) everyone. :peace:
-
having A/C serviced tomorrow. is 78 in house, thermo set on 72 and running all day. but it is 100 here in texas
-
This hot weather makes my asthma alot worse and I really don't feel like doing anything because of it. :BangHead:
-
Finally.... the heat wave here in Southwestern PA has broke.... All this week suppose to be in the 80's again finally. We can handle that, but those high 90's are killers. Thanks goodness its cooled down.

Took a bus from my small town (no car yet), to major city, to do shopping Great experience except the time period to wait for the next bus. Oh well, such is the life for a retiree on SS and no other way to go. Hum, seems congress makes all the money no?

We had our 100 degree spell last month and now we have our "monsoons". NM is usually dry but my barometer has been reading 70% lately. Whew. At least it's cooler.
A neat trick I learned is to take something cold, like a blue ice or a canned drink and hold it against your heart. It'll cool your blood and the cooled blood will circulate and cool you down. Ahhh, works real good. 8)
-
Swimming and then AC
-
Great tip about holding a cool drink close to your heart to help cool you down. Better than against your head I guess.

The best place to hold it is on the inside of your wrist- right where you see the veins. An athlete told me that once!
-
Great, I just went to our neigborhood restaurant/sports bar, and held it to my heart, to my wrist, and ouch, that taco hurt, but when I poured a Corona over it ahhhh.... Just kidding, guys, but yeah the beer was cold and good, and made me think of summer, swimming parties and good BBQ's with friends and loved ones, even when it is hot.

I live in Arkansas and it is raining really bad and the wind is blowing for a change!! I am too happy because i havent had rain here in almost a month
-
That is great, too bad you can't send some rain to the hotter regions especially those with wild fires. Enjoy your day
