I know I am not happy with it coming down.
-
It's Paterno, And I would like to hear the reason why you are not happy it's coming down?
-
I also think it's sad that his statue is coming down.
It is sad that all the good that Joe Paterno did in his career at Penn State has been
tarnished by the actions of Jerry Sandusky and the administration that swept
the events under the rug.

With the able assistance of one Joe Paterno ::)

I don't see why they had to do that. I think that if they do that then they should have to give back all the money they invested to psu. It is so sad that the man is dead now drag his name through the mud. :peace:

The statue coming down is not that big of a deal but I cannot believe that I admired JOE Pa for so long to only hear that he made have covered up one of the worse crimes in our free world.
-
He is a piece of garbage. He covered up the actions of his friend. He didn't want bad publicity for his program. Well, they took away his wins. You know the ones he cherished so much? So now he advocated molestation for NOTHING. I wish I believed in hell so that I could rest easy knowing that this piece of trash is there now.
-
serves him right; I think! :o
-
Saw the news Penn State got hit way to hard that is just not right!!
-
Its fair, we as a nation need to send the right message that child molesters and the people that cover it up are not going to get away with it. Paterno is lucky he didn't live long enough to spend the rest of his life rotting in a cell. Taking his wins and a statue down are fair punishment for a guy who escaped capital punishment for his crimes.
-
I think it is sad that his legacy is going to be tarnished, but I also believe it is partially his fault for not doing somethin about it, so I understand. Noone can say he wasnt a good coach

What is not right about it?
-
Why should there be a staute of a person who did something so foul? :bs: Looking the other way makes you just as guilty.
-
The statue absolutely needed to come down. Joe is complete scum for the cover up for the crimes Jerry Sandusky committed. He deserves to have every shred of positivity removed from the Joe Pa story.
-
The university decided to take the statue down to resolve an issue that will not be a solution to this situation. Joe Pa is no longer with us so no matter what is done will not hurt Joe Pa but his legacy will suffer. His inaction forced a lot of people to deal with a situation that should have never gotten this far.
-
You can't have him as the face of your institution anymore. The statue woulf get vandalized if it stayed. It's going to be torn down either way.
I enjoy sports but not covering up for child molesters is more important to me. Screw the statue and screw the institution for what they allowed to happen. I mean seriously, they, including Paterno, hid a child molester so it wouldn't ruin their football program. Football was more important to them than those kids. Football? Really?
-
Yes he might have been a great coach, but wasn't a great man. If he would have turned Sandusky in a long time ago fewer children would have been hurt, Sandusky would be in prison for his crimes, and football would have made the changes they needed so that they would be ready for the next season. But because they wanted to look the other way more kids suffered and now the athletes and students have to deal with the consequences of their actions.

they took away all those wins that made him the winningest coach and therefore the statue had to come down because he was no longer the winningest coach.
