There is this Savers store I liked to go to when I lived in Orange County and they had some of the best stuff to buy. I used to get name brand shorts for my son to play in for the summer. They have alot of good stuff for like 3.00 and up. If you bring in things to donate they give you 30% off your purchase. So now they sent me a email and they opened a new store where I live now and I remember sending in a suggestion they should get one here where I moved to and wow my prayers were answered. Being a single mom on a budget this store really helps me out at times, plus I like to donate my son and I clothes that we dont fit anymore. :)

I say shop anywhere that you can find clothes you like at a good price!!! Im always down for a bargain or deal. No one has to know only you. If you like it thats all that matters!
-
I don't go often, but I definitely do go every once in awhile.
-
yes me my mom and my sister like to shop Thrift Stores!!! you would be very surprised at some of the great things you can find
-
Yes. I shop at Stuff Etc, Half Price Books, Lands End, Goodwill and The Salvation Army. Good stuff at cheap prices! Why not?
-
I've found almost all of my best books in thrift stores! I've also come across some great old band shirts, some of which are very rare. I'm also interested in interesting little curios that are found in some thrift stores. I have better luck for such things at flea markets, though.
-
I shop once in awhile at thrift shops (not as I use to when I was younger), but not for clothes. Once in a blue moon I do find a hidden treasure, but often times I'm just browsing around only.
-
Oh yes, the Goodwills and stores like that can be very helpful. I love finding treasures at thrift prices. We used to have a local thrift store that I loved (I don't feel that it's right to name it though) and miss very much that had to close because they got those stinking bed bugs. I think its a true shame if it was from donations. I have gotten everything from dishes to my stereo and so much more shopping thrift. But one time, I got a pair of jeans that had 2 bucks in the pocket and the jeans were only three bucks...so HEY!!!! :D

Thrift Shops are a great place to shop for the whole family.
I have gotten great deals on clothes, jewelry, housewares and more.
I do volunteer at our local thrift shop which beniefits are local highschool scholarship fund.
Thrift shops are great for kids clothes since kids tend to out grow their clothes b4 wearing them out.
Thrift shops that also allow you to consign your own items for sale are great too.Just be sure you understand their policy.for items and payments for your items.
Most will pay u 50% of the sale price of the item.  :peace:

I love shopping at thrift stores. You can find really good items there, and saves you a lot of money compared to regular stores. Its a good way to shop if you want to save money.
-
I don't know why but I get itchy in those store's. I guess the thought of wearing strangers clothes. I even wash new clothes before I wear them.
-
I love thrift stores! I usually stop at a couple each week. Its one of my favorite things to do.
-
I will go every now and then if I'm looking for something specific, but I have donated thousands of dollars worth of items over the years. I have a truckload ready for them right now. I once found two English paintings done around the turn of the century that I paid $4 apiece for. Someone had painted different flora and penciled in the names of them. I gave them to my son who is into old things because they just didn't fit my decor.
-
They are like year round garage sales. I shop at several of them.
-
I like Thrift Stores too.
We have a Plato's Closet nearby where we have gotten a lot of great name brand jeans and shoes.

I always thought it was like finding a buried treasure when i shop at the GOODWILL and find a great deal. So yes
-
I once found a gold plated, sterling silver, signed cake server at a thrift store for 50 cents. I sold it on EBay for $40.00. Turns out it was part of a special tableware service that was used at the White House at one time.
-
I love thrift stores. I buy all of my clothes there. I go to the thrift store every week. I get great bargains at thrift stores.
-
Alot of people frown upon shopping at thrift stores. I have actually heard many stories of people making money from this activity. They would buy nice items from the thrift store for low prices then sell them on EBay. Seems like a nice idea. I would shop there for either reason. No shame.
-
yes uselly the salvation army since they help people
-
To the above two members that posted I actually have heard of people using the arbitrage technique at thrift stores. One man with a money making system claimed he could make like $1,000 in a day which I really don't believe is possible unless you put in a lot more work than what he said. I think that would be interesting to see what would happen if someone applied their own twist with thrift store ebay arbitrage.
I like that the Salvation army helps people too. I think it's good to see them doing it for a good cause. :)
It's been a while since I was to a thrift store, but my mother and grandmother really liked them for clothing and my grandmother got quite a few clothing items from them over the years, however at one thrift store she went to she couldn't find any bargains and even one of the employees admitted that particular store didn't have many bargains.
Thrift stores have a good concept. I think they are great.
-
Don't overlook the Garage Sales for even better bargains a lot of the time.
-
I only shop at thrift stores when my Mom want's to go, cause I hate the smell of thrift stores. It always smell's stuffy and stagnated in there and I start to have slight allergy symptoms whenever I visit one.
-
I love thrift stores. There are a few different where I live. Goodwill is my favorite because they have daily specials. I by most of my family's clothing there. You never know what you can find.
-
Thrift stores are the greatest. We have one close to us and my husband goes there all the time. Got a Bayberry Purse there for $10. :o
-
I personally don't like shopping at thrift stores, probably due to being a minor germaphobe. The ones that I've been to are not well kept and most of the objects are really dusty and I end up imagining all the nasty places the previous owner's may have put them in and... I just end up freaking myself out into not buying anything.
-
I have found some awesome things at Goodwill! I bought two nice outside chairs for 2 bucks apiece! And a couch for 15 that wasn't ripped to shreds!
-
I have once or twice in the past, but that isn't somewhere I generally shop. I have just had bad experiences when I was in those types of stores where the clothes smelled funny and things like that.
-
We've found some good stuff at thrift stores - mostly for our outside birds and other critters. They aren't real particular :)
-
yes i do and i love the thrift store here in baxley, wonderful clothing, you don't even see in stores
-
Oh yes! I love thirfting. I always find the greatest things. Also cheap so I can save money! :)
-
I love to shop at the thrift stores. Some items you can find cheaper. I love to find unique items not sold other places any more!
-
Absolutely. I have a very large thrift store next door to where I live called Deseret Industries. I'm amazed at the qwirkie things I can find there. I have to be careful, though, because it would be easy to shop, spend and hoard.
It's great, for the times, when I really need something!
-
I am addicted cant leave the house without stopping at one. You never know what you will find!!! ;)
-
Yes, I just started shopping at thrift stores in my city. I think thrift store are great. You can find great bargins on clothing.
-
I love shopping at thift stores! U find the most unique clothes & good books!
-
I see nothing wrong with the stores. Most of the clothes are in really good shape and cheap. My daughter has found clothes for my granddaughters with tags from the store still attached. We all use them.Enjoy.
-
I like thrift stores. I don't buy the clothing, but I do buy goods that i can resell. I found some sealed SNES games one time for $4.99 each and some of them were worth $50. I also like flea markets for the same thing. Find good deals.
-
yes i do..somtimes i find some nice stuff at great prices :bunny:
-
I use to like browsing thrift stores in hopes of finding some unique decor items. I don't do it anymore tho.
-
I do shop at Thrift Stores. We have Goodwills, and Once Upon a Child in my area. They are great for kids clothes! Sometimes you can find stuff with the tags still on it! Brand new items!
-
I  to shop where I can get a great deal.
-
We have a lot of thrift stores around and they have bag sales, where you pay a certain amount for the bag and you can fill it as full as you can get it. I love to go when they have their sales on.
-
When I was a little kid I grew up in thrift store clothes, so it's nothing new to me. When my boyfriend and I moved in together, he kept asking me where I got all this "cool stuff". He was shocked that 90% of it came from yard sales or thrift store. Now he's hooked too, and happy for it. We have found great deals over the past few years.
-
Yes, I shop at thrift stores and found out that I like it very much. The bargains that I have found and the clothes is amazing I started shopping by accident me and my sisters were giving my baby sister a surprise 40th birthday party and since she was born in the 70's that was the theme, so instead of spending money in the regular stores I decided to do Goodwill and other thrift stores and found out that I like shopping in them the prices is what thrills me especially when you are on a budget these are the best stores to stick with it.
-

I actually donated a lot of my old concert t-shirts to a thrift store by me about ten years ago.
-
Im glad to hear so many of you also enjoy a good bargain. Over the weekend I was able to pick up some good things for me and my son and also something nice for our home.
-
I shop at Thrift stores. You can find great deals. If i buy clothes i just wash them with really hot water and throw them in the dryer on high heat. It's saves you a lot of money.
-
I love thrift stores ;D
-
Every now and then I stop in to check them out. It is a great place to find a great deal! But, you just have to have the time to look thru everything!!!
-
I shop at thrift stores. You can save a lot of money on clothes, hygiene, and cleaning supplies.
-
I LOVE the Goodwill. I always donate my used clothes to Salvation Army b/c of all they do for the community but I actually shop at GW. There's a saver's in the next town but I haven't visited it yet, I'm going to call and see if they have uniforms for the kids though b/c I've been hearing great things about them.
-
My mother had to shop at a thrift stores, so I try not to go to thrift stores.

I like to shop thrift stores for things like picture frames and furniture to reupholster, and sometimes for things like crystal. You can find unusual things. I like that. It's interesting. :dog:
-
i find items that i can resell on ebay
-
LOVE to shop at thrift stores. It is a great thing to do when you have the time to really browse and hang out. Never know what great deals you can find and it's fun! Goodwill has gotten a little high in their prices over the years. I find that the smaller stores (sometimes attached to another charity) often have the better prices. However, no matter which way you go - there are always good deals if you have the time to find them. Good post - thanks!
-
I used to when I was in high school and I need to start visiting them again. I found some good deals and new looking stuff.
-
Not as much for clothes but we shop at them for toys, books, used TVs for the kids.
-

I think they are really fun to go into. You never know when you will find a treasure of some sort. I belive in donating to them also. Always be sure everthing thing is clean and useable no broken or torn junk.
-
yes i do ,,never know what i may find in the thrift stores!! :bunny:
-
At our Thirft stores, you can not even find a parking place right now and they are packed everytime I go past.
-
I don't go out of me way to shop there, but my friends and I will go on occasion and I can generally find a few deals when I go. My one friend loves them and will shop there for stuff like dresses and such before looking at the normal stores we shop at. I always kinda feel a little odd shopping there cause I have the money to afford shirts at other stores and feel kinda like I'm taking clothes away from people who could really need that $3 shirt that I picked up.
-
LOVE THEM!!! Share-n-stuff and Goodwill are my favorites!!!
-
I like going into thrift store, have found some neat stuff that i sold on e-bay, and made some money also. Dn't go much anymore because i am not on e-bay anymore, It got to be ahassel. But if you have small children it is a great place to shop. They go through so many clothes as they are growing up. What a way to save. One time i bought my little great niece a bran new Lands end coat for $3 and the ticket on it said $95.00 what a deal. Yep it was brand new and did she look cute in it.
-
I LOVE thrift stores! I frequent the Goodwill, I heard Savers was better but I haven't gotten the chance to get out there yet.
-
I really like thrift stores. It's sort of like treasure hunting. I tend to buy shirts, sports jackets, music and DVD. I'm pretty picky but sometimes find some deals.
-
Sometimes. You can find some really cool nice stuff there.
-

-
I like shopping at thrift stores, and sometimes I find some cute things that I didn't know I needed.
-
I definitely go to goodwill! my 10 year old is very leggy and skinny. she is going right through her school pants so we keep having to go get pants that are long enough on her. her waist is really about an eight-ten but we are having to get 12's and 14's for the length long as they have the adjustable waist.

I agree thrift stores can be a good place to get some quality stuff especially if you're watching your pennies (as most of us are these days). Another place to shop (if you're lucky enough to have this type of store near you) are the ones that pay you to donate your "gently used" articles. That way you not only get some cash for your things but you can spend it right there too!!!!
-
We hit those kinds of stores all the time.. some excellent deals.. and everynow and then you are lucky to find something that you weren't able to find anywhere else..
-
i am not against shopping at thrift stores at all. You can find some really good things there. Plus good for environment reusing, good for my wallet, and some things you find there you just cant find anywhere else. Some things are from back in the day and they no longer make such things. I just do not shop much anywhere because i am so busy and am a very simple person I dont need to go shopping every weekend for new stuff nope very simple.
-
I used to shop thrift stores, when I lived in Reno Nevada they had a good store there. Now I shop at garage and estate sales and I get better deals then at thrift stores here in Washington state.
-
When I was a teenager, my mother loved to hunt thrift stores to find antiques, and especially old National Geographic magazines to add to her collection. I laugh now remembering how mortified I was going into those stores with her, and how I'd rant and rave and how embarrassed I would be if anyone saw me going in. Once I hit my 20's, I started shopping at them myself, and I prefer them to regular stores. I love the hunt of finding designer clothes for pennies on the dollar.
-
yes i love sunshine thrift store they also carry new things also i shop there when ever i can with my busy schedule
-
When I was a kid, my mom used to take my sister and I to a thrift store sometimes (when didn't get clothes very often, but we shopped there more than we did Walmart, etc.). I haven't been to one in a long time, but since I need some clothes when I have a little money that's probably where I'll go. Hopefully be able to find some decent things for cheap so I could get more for the money.
