Prolonged wearing of high heels can cause a permanent damages like bunions, hammertoes, leg tendons.. This are mainly caused due to pressure on ball of the foot. The higher the heels, the greater is the pressure. This can also affect the knee and back.
So on wearing high heels continuously you are increasingly damaging you feet.
If you love your health be cautious.

I havent been able to wear those for years. When I was younger I twisted my left ankle. About 20 years later I broke that same ankle in a car accident
-
I like my feet, but I like heels too.
Instead of wearing them for day-to-day, I like to wear them for formal occasions (or if I know I'll be sitting down a lot!)
I wore heels to my wedding (changed to flats for my reception) and in the short while I was at the alter, my feet were KILLING me!
I couldn't wear them for long periods of time if I wanted to!
-
I used to wear them too work and when i would be back in the recieving are would slip on slippers. Until i had a couple of bad wrecks and the Dr.s took them away from me. Then i got to wear sneakers toowork most of the time. Except when a meeting with the big wigs was happening. Now i don't ever wear them. Just a nice pair 1" flats. Oh joy.
-
I wore them for work in the past, and after working that job for a year, sneakers KILLED me-- it took months for the tendons to stretch again. I haven't worn them since except for dress occasions
But hey-- we're being sexists, here! what about they GUYS on FC that might wear heels??? ;D

I actually know someone that has hurt their feet permanently due to wearing heels for a long period of time. I am not a big fan of high heels. I prefer comfort over beauty.
-
No I do not like to wear heels.
-
I'm not good at walking in heels, I look like a little girl trying to be grown when I wear them. The only type of heels I wear are wedges and they're usually not that high to begin with. The Skecher Tone Ups may have gotten some bad press, but I enjoy wearing them for the look.

I stand most of the day at work, so I almost never wear high heels. I love me a pair of cute heels, especially with a little pop of color, but I'll save that for going out on the weekends because it just hurts to much to stand in them for 8 to 10 hours a day!
-
I only wear them when required (school graduation for instance, ugh). Otherwise, I wear sandals, tennis shoes, or nothing.
It makes sense that they do that though. A lot of the time the pressure isn't on the ball of the foot, but between the ball and the heel for me. Whenever I wear them, it's my arch that kills.
I also heard something about it shortening one of the muscles, I think, but I can't remember where I heard that.
-
I rarely wear high heels unless it's something formal, like a wedding. There have also been reports that flip flops cause damage to your feet because they have no arch support.
-
No high heels for me never have never will. I would probably break my neck if I tried.
-
I used to wear heels..... but; now, the only thing I hate more is bare feet! :bs:
-
I can't stand high heels. I never wear them.
-
I love the way they look, but I rarely wear them. I recently wore some to my brother's wedding, and my feet were killing me after a while.

YEAH, tell that to the supermodels who wear those things for a living and get payed for it!!!!!
-
Don't care for high heels, they're not necessary.
-
I love them!!! I don't wear them as much anymore, but I still love them and wear them whenever I get the chance. Brand and fit are important, though. It is not one of those things that cheaper is better. I buy Carlos Santana heels and they are so comfortable and cute! They are engineered properly, so they don't hurt as much as most heels. Don't get me wrong- after 10 hours of running the streets, they are going to hurt, but that's expected.

I broke my ankle in a car crash back in 2003 just before I got pregnant and the front end of my car smashed in on me and my ankle was stuck in between the drive pedal and brake. So Im scared to wear heels feeling i might make one wrong move and my ankle will be sore again, plus any lil bang to my ankle it hurts badly so I dont think I will ever wear heels again. :'( :( I used to love heels on a part time basis never could wear them for alot of hours.
-
I like to wear them, but I only wear them once a week. The rest of the time I am wearing flats.
-
They look beautiful, like wearable art, but I've never been a shoe hound. Before I could get old enough to have occasion to wear high heels my feet got wide and started having joint problems. I can't wear most shoes on the racks. For special occasions I wouldn't mind having some, but i'd have to order them online. :(
-
I'm not a "heels" lady so haven't had any problems. They are attractive for those who do wear them.
-
I hardly wear high heals. I will occasionally wear them in a formal setting but I like my flats more often than not. Go to know there are more reasons to avoid wearing them. =)
-
think they look great. If you are not on your feet constantly and walking or running a lot they are great. They just make me feel more dressed up! I always have a pair of flats or slippers with me just in case.
-
I have had Bunions since I was 7 (hereditary) And let me tell you that is something you do not want. I do on occasion wear high heels but generally stick to dressy flip flops :) even the raised ones aren't as bad as real heals. I hope you listen to your feet :)

I know about this already from Facebook. Wearing heels long term does serious damage to the feet. It’s almost like binding one’s own feet. Not a pretty sight. I rarely wear heels even when I own a pair. I only wear them on special occasions. I can’t stand wearing them because they are not like running shoes comfy, fast and efficient.

Iv always heard bad things and seen persunly what they can do to your feet, thats why i never wear high heels

I've worn some really uncomfortable heels, but I've also had pairs that were more comfortable than any other shoes I have! I honestly wonder if flat sandals are even worse for your feet. I know someone with terrible plantar fascitis, she can barely walk, and it was all caused by flat shoes. It's also probably not good having zero arch support.
-
Wearing high heels can also effect your knees. I should know. Whenever, I wear high heels, my knees ache.
-
Can't wear highheels anymore. I have flat feet, no arches, too many back issues. Highheels are just painful.
-
I have never had a pair of heels on in my life and never will. I'm all about comfort. :peace:
-
I have never liked wearing high heels. Why people wear heels up to the height of 7 inches is crazy. To look cute now, will make you pay later in life. Some people wear shoes like that all day, everyday. They read somewhere that stilettos makes their legs look great-not. Women please realize that line was written by a man.
-
I wear them sometimes. I like them sometimes and sometimes I'd rather not have to deal with trying to walk and then having my legs or back hurt if I wear them or a long time. I have seen women with 4 to 5 inch heels and they look good but I'd likely fall and kill myself. lol
-
No, No, and NO... I like how my legs look but with having Multiple Sclerosis, I had to give them up (Praise The Almighty) because they are not good for us!!!
-
Can't wear heels anymore because of arthritis in my knees. I also have a hammertoe
-
no they have always made my feet hurt

I don't wear them but my daughter does. I keep thinking she will our grow it but she has been wearing them for years now. She is still young though (22) so maybe...

I love heals but they do kill your feet after a couple hours. I have a hard time finding cute ones because of my size 5 shoe size.

I hear you Mary I take a 5 as well and can hardly ever find ANYTHING that fits me :sad1:

I agree. I don't wear them very often, but I like the way they look. I will usually wear flip-flops in the car on the way to/from the event I'm wearing heels at so it takes longer for my feet to hurt. Lol The things we do to be pretty... Boys have no idea!
