Let's post inspiring Quotes... I like this one:
Your greatness is not what you have, it's what you give.
"remembering" someone else's words is called complimentary! Plagiarism is claiming those words as your own...... :dontknow: Isn't it??
Adj. 1. tacit - implied by or inferred from actions or statements; "gave silent consent"; "a tacit agreement"
“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence”
Aristotle quotes (Ancient Greek Philosopher, Scientist and Physician, 384 BC-322 BC)
Thank you for starting this thread. Except for the squabbling over nothing (the first quote was attributed to "Yogi") it is a good thread.

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.
~Helen Keller
If I did this, I would have to start posting the book of Psalms, because God is who inspires me.
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."Great quote! It's true, too. :)

If I did this, I would have to start posting the book of Psalms, because God is who inspires me.I do agree! Psalms and Proverbs are both full of inspiration! :)
Psalms and Proverbs are both full of inspiration! :)
I disagree. Religiously-based superstitions are uninspiring. So don't read them, don't open threads and force yourself to read them. Read your own choices that you enjoy. That makes a lot more sense, you know... But, it's your choice after all - your choice to open the threads and read what you don't like so you can pitch a fit about it - it's your choice to then receive feedback when you give feedback.Psalms and Proverbs are both full of inspiration! :)

Whoa... hold on!! I don't have a problem with reading dissenting viewpoints in response, and will respond either way - especially when it's a real debate. What I will indeed respond to are the intolerant and hateful comebacks that are unnecessary. I will read them and will back or support anyone who is being treated that way.I disagree. So, don't read the dissenting viewpoints posted in response. Doing so is your choice as well.

Do not answer anyone stupid according to his foolishness, that you yourself also may not become equal to him
I need to remind myself of that quote too.
"Where there is no wood the fire goes out,and where there is no slanderer contention grows still."

Prov 26:1
Prov 26:12

What the mind can conceive and beleive, it can achieve. From a seminar called Xoces. But really if you analyze it, it comes from the Bible.
Prove it.What the mind can conceive and beleive, it can achieve. From a seminar called Xoces. But really if you analyze it, it comes from the Bible.
No, that quote is from Napoleon Hill. The contributors to the various 'bibles' consisted of various plagiarists.

I will take that as a lie from you, then, since you can't prove the plagiarizers. What the mind can conceive and beleive, it can achieve. From a seminar called Xoces. Both contentions can be verified using search engines. Since you've demonstrated that evidentiary facts do not impinge upon your blind faith, why would I waste time proving something you could prove to yourself, if you were honest about it.

So? What's the big deal? Ethnicity and culture play a big role in how things are perceived - they believe in basically the same "concept" of a Lord and Savior to follow, the difference being whether it is God the Father, or a god by their choosing.Prove it.Both contentions can be verified using search engines. Since you've demonstrated that evidentiary facts do not impinge upon your blind faith, why would I waste time proving something you could prove to yourself, if you were honest about it.I will take that as a lie from you, then, since you can't prove the plagiarizers.
I'll take your entire alleged "religion" as a lie then, since you have no evidence to support it beyond baseless blind faith, (which is based on a lack of evidence itself). Other than that, the first quote is attributed to Napoleon Hill, (this is easily verified). The contention regarding the plagiarisms of xtianity results from comparing the dates of pre-existing mythologies to latter xtian assimulation/cultural theft and altering those to plagiarize prior pagan belief systems. For instance, the Aegyptian mythology of "Horus the elder" was exatnt more than 3,000 years before xtianity arose as a 'cult'. This myth parallels the 'jesus stories' because it was plagiarized by unimaginative judeo-xtians. This pattern of xtian plagiarism continued over a long period of time, attempting to absorb/assimulate extant pagan cultures and belief systems along the way. Ask the native american indians about such forced assimulation attempts in which they tried conflated NA beliefs, (8-10 thousand years older than xtian plagiarized beliefs), with post-dated 'xtian' ones.
So? What's the big deal?
God has always been here.
If you think it is wrong or plagiarized, prove it - you commented and said the word several times - so, prove it.
And I said so what? And gave a reason why some do things they do within their culture. SO WHAT? I didn't ask you to do my research - I said prove your remarks. Big difference, O man of big words. So? What's the big deal?
Plagiarism is cultural theft. Those who practice it are thieves. Those who condone it, (tacitly, you and other xtians), are accomplishes after the fact.God has always been here.
That's an arrogant presumption since it disregards PREVIOUS 'deital' myths and retroactively, (in contemptuous revisionism), claims that these were all the xtian 'g-d'. This is an extremely offensive presumption of the part of xtians who hold it and I reject it as totally false on the basis of a complete lack of actual evidence to support such an irrational belief. If you think it is wrong or plagiarized, prove it - you commented and said the word several times - so, prove it.
I've already stated how you, or anyone else could verify this for themselves, if they had enough courage to withstand the extensive evidence substantiating this contention, (spanning more than centuries ... and you want me to do your research?). I gave an example regarding Horus and you ignored it. No soup for you.
And I said so what? And gave a reason why some do things they do within their culture. SO WHAT? I didn't ask you to do my research - I said prove your remarks.

“Those who hate most fervently must have once loved deeply; those who want to deny the world must have once embraced what they now set on fire.”
Kurt Tucholsky
“You cannot hate other people without hating your self”
Oprah Winfrey
Hating people is like burning down your own house to get rid of a rat. ~Henry Emerson Fosdick
"Anything that divides people breeds inhumanity. Religion serves that ugly purpose."Actually, trolling divides and causes dissension and serves that ugly purpose, whereas if a person believes in God, then that is comfort and no concern of the troller.
-- James A. Haught
Tucholsky is an irrational moron, there is no logic in his premise nor, conclusion.Careful who you speak of like that - your words may be describing your own self. What he is saying has a great ring of truth to it - only those who see it otherwise must be in total denial and do not wish to hear that ring of truth.“Those who hate most fervently must have once loved deeply; those who want to deny the world must have once embraced what they now set on fire.”
Kurt Tucholsky
False. A non-cannibal can "hate" cannibals without being a cannibal themselves. Irrationality is revealed by rational thought and wallowed-in by blind faith.False. A hater of others, because they are believers, is wallowing in their own bitterness and hate because of fighting against the pricks of God so hard.“You cannot hate other people without hating your self”
Oprah Winfrey
"He that will not reason is a bigot; he that cannot reason is a fool; he that dares not reason is a slave."It's very obvious that you are not wanting to reason, but calling yourself a bigot will not help your ego; lighten up on yourself - surely you don't enjoy labeling yourself a fool and a slave in front of so many posters, believers and not believers. Whoa - slow down - don't beat yourself up so bad...
-- William Drummond

Mine, too! And my daughter's! Did you ever read Little Men? I did once, long ago, and it was okay. But there's just something about Little Women that stays with us and teaches us valuable lessons regarding thriftiness, dedication to family, being content with what we have, helping others who are even worse off than we are, supporting and encouraging each other, keeping the faith and hope of someone returning home from the war (even today), and strength/comfort/love from our Heavenly Father. And so much more - I could go on and on, lol. :)"Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I really like this quote. Many times you see people trying so hard to be like someone else that they forget joy in just being themselves. There is so much beauty in just being the way that you truly are!
I love this one and so could have used this in my ex. Happiness is have a dream you cannot let go of and a partner who would never ask you too.
