SERIOUSLY???? 50 minutes for .01? I love videos, but this is just too much!

To be honest, I muted my speakers and let it play in the background. I don't have 50 minutes to watch. Maybe someone else can fill us in.

I know we only get paid $.01 for watching this Emily Owens MD pilot video, but I tuned down my speakers and opened a second window so it could play in the background while I did my normal online routine.
Is the show any good?
More than once I was drawn to the video and watched. I think this is going to be a great new show. I am looking forward to it.

I watched this video. I didn't turn the sound off, but I did go back and forth from the video to what I was doing. I liked it. I think it will be a great show. Can't wait to see the next one.

shouldn't they pay a bit more than a cent for a 50 minute video?

FYI.I managed to get though 10 mins before I decided I was not watching this video for 50 minutes.
When I checked my account I had been paid for it. Just a thought.

the video pays after the first 30 seconds of viewing. BUT I did actually watch it earlier and it was a pretty good show. I agree we should be paid MORE for such a long video if they really want us to watch the entire thing WITH commercials. I could NOT believe they started showing commercials during the video....CRAZY for just .01cents!!

I thought it pretty ridiculous too. In fact I said so in a different offer feed (before I found this one). Thank you those of you that pointed out we get credit after a minute. I shut it off after about five minutes. The instructions say to watch the whole episode. I just checked and I did indeed get credit. Yea. The instructions should reflect that.

Ditto. I was frustrated because the instructions said to watch the whole thing..... I got credit after a minute or so. Yeah for that!

HHmmm....i had the window open in the background for about 2 minutes. Turned down the sound as well. I got credited after that.

the new videos that are long, i usually let 30 or 40 seconds play, then cut it off and see if i get credit. if it does great, if not...i'll leave it playing in the background next time with it muted

i actually watched this. i really liked it, and i didn't have anything better to do. i don't mind watching something for a cent. one cent is better than no cents.....that's the way i look at it.

I played the video twice and was credited both times after viewing it for 30 seconds. I would not watch it for 50 minutes for only .01.

Same thing here 30 seconds is all it took before I was credited. I always open a second window to check my account in between viewing the video to see when the credit arrives.

Ordinarily I wouldn't waste that much time for a penny, however since I had planned on watching the debut next week anyway I didn't mind watching the sneak preview. It looks like it is going to be a good show. :thumbsup:

FWI, with this particular video, you ONLY need to watch about 60 seconds to guarantee credit. As a rule of thumb, when I open a video, and is very long, let's say anything more than 10 minutes, I close it after 1 minute, and go check if it has credited. IF it doesn't credit after watching 1 minute, then it probably means you have to watch it all; at that point, it is your call, whether to do it or not.
A clear example are the "Dating Rules - From My Future Self" videos, they are always more than 5 minutes, but they credit after watching at least 30-40 seconds; however, some of us enjoy watching it completely :thumbsup:

I didn't watch the whole thing, got tired of it and thought well if i get a penney great, if not i haven't wasted much time. And i got paid.

Interesting. The most I have gotten time wise is 15 miniutes. That is messed up,though.

I've played it all the way thru a few times and watched a good bit of it but I don't have 50 mins to sit thru the entire thing either. I closed it after about 5 mins once but still got credit.

I watch it for a minute or so. I have never checked to see if I have been credited. I need to check and will get back with you. Like other members, i do not have the time to watch for one cent.
I just went and checked and I did get credit. so you can watch the video for a minute or and so will get your credit. ;D

Couldn't watch a video this long for just a cent, but when i tried closing the tab, i realized that it credits right away the moment you click the video. :)

My credit for this video showed up way before the 50 min mark.

I watched the show and liked it. I would have watched it on TV anyway so a penny for what I would have done for free was ok. But I agree that for that length of watching it could have been 10 cents or more. If it was a show that wouldn't interest me I don't think I'd have spent the time.

I agree, one cent isn't much if you have to watch for 50 minutes. I can see making someone watch the first minute or two to get them hooked, but other than that, it seems a bit crazy!

ON second thought, many of us pay to watch TV on a regular basis in one way or another: satellite, cable, movie theater, or just the electricity to keep the tube or computer on. So, I guess you're doing better than when you watch your fav movie or sitcom

I didn't notice that it was that long, but once it credited to my account I also closed out the video. I've seen some that are well over 10 minutes. I watched 2 pilot shows for another pay site once and got paid WAY better than a penny. (turns out one is now on tv and doing pretty good but haven't een the other one, wonder what happened with it since I thought it was better)

50 miniutes? Thats way too much. I honestly think that they should pay more pennies for longer videos. Yet again, they can't pay everyone, and they try there hardest, so It's ok.

It's nice that we can mute and shrink without actually watching the videos and still get credit. It would be way too time consuming to actually watch everything... particularly something like this. Like the others, I also got credit without playing the entire thing.
