some people at a certain ago stop trick or treating because its not cool what about you guys...?
-
We don't do Halloween, but back in the day when my daughter was little, I dressed up and went with her. I don't trust strangers, so we got double amount of candy. lol
We went to someone's door, and the man gave her and me both a pamphlet and told us both to give to our mothers. He was someone running for a political office of some kind. It took everything to keep from laughing in his face, because I WAS a parent. He thought I was an older kid. lol.
But since we were having a dinner at my parents house afterward, I gave my mother the flyer, and told her the man said to give it to my mother. lol
I did it to be funny, and she just cracked up.
That was the last time I ever went.

When I was in K-2 we had Halloween parties that we dressed up for. We also got bags of candy to take home. I think we even had a pizza party in the 3rd grade when I changed schools. I remember my mother taking me to a halloween party when I was 9 or 10 at a rec center where we had candy, food and bobbed for apples. However the last celebration of any kind I had participated in was when I was in 8th grade. I haven't celebrated Halloween since.

I would say I stopped at the age of 17 put I had my little girl when i was 20 and now that she is almost 2 we are up and going again ;D she is so excited to go out this year, I find it so cute and funny because she doesn't even know what it is. All she know is she gets candy and that is enough for her
-
I stopped probably around high school, though I didn't stop because it "wasn't cool." I simply stopped cause I was so swamped with homework that I didn't have time to wander around my neighborhood, let alone go get a costume and such. I barely get my pumpkin carved in time so doing that on top of everything else would be near impossible for me.
-
I am in my 40's and have never been trick or treating in my life or dressed up.
-
How sad you never went trick or treat! :sad1: I think it is one of the joys of being a kid! I never stopped; mmm candy! :binkybaby:

I THINK YOU should quit at age 12
-
When I started middle school I stopped trick or treating.
-
Trick or treating is for fun, I don't understand why people put so many rules in my home town you have to be back in your home not later then 8:30 pm. That is nuts i men it is a small town, what do they think is going to happen.... i don't get it :BangHead: but it is what it is.
-
Around 12
-
The last time I went was when I was 12. Kind of miss it.
-
wow I don't even remember. I know I dressed up once, in high school, so pretty old. But it was a custome party at the school. I find it amazing the prices of customes now a days.
We live in the loop of town, so we are expecting LOTS of TRTs, we've got over 2k pieces of candy. I actually think we will need some more. It's fun, but also a burden. If we don't have candy, then the kids might egg the house, etc. Worse, I don't get home fm work in time for the whole curfew of trick or treating. So my man is on his own for the 1st shift!
-
I probably stopped when I was like 21 or 22.....a little late, but oh well. I had fun. I'm pretty short for my age and I usually wore a mask so that people wouldn't be able to tell my real age and deny me the benefit of delicious candy! But now that I'm older, I don't really have an interest in it. I can't wait to have a child because then I know I will be super into it!
-
I was around 13 or so. We still dress up though when we take the kids out now.
-
I don't remember trick or treating when I was a kid, but I didn't let my kids go trick or treating after they turned twelve. I believe this tradition should belong to the little ones.
-
I stopped trick or treating at 14, mostly because I started going to more costume parties, and the thrill of going house to house for candy lost its appeal, especially when I was old enough to buy just the candy I wanted on occasion.
-
I stopped when I entered the 7th grade.
-
Well I used to go trick or treating when I was younger like 8 or 9 years old and after that I stopped and da last time i went trick or treating was when I was 25 years old. :)
-
I stopped trick or treating around 16 but I took my brother a couple years after that he is 6 years younger than me. But I kinda like being on the giving end now. I can have as much candy as I want and stay in a warm house and watch fun halloween movies and listen to halloween music. And I get to see the smiles I get from kids when I give them glow sticks and candy. =)
-
stopped for like a year but then i had kids so ill be trick or treating til they are no longer interesting in going.
-
I can't remember when I stopped regularly going, but I do remember going out one last time when I was 20 with my younger brother. We dressed up and had a riot as it was drizzly that night and the roads were almost bare. We each got almost 2 full pillowcases of candy that night.
-
I think this tradition of trick or treating ceased for me when I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade. It was fun getting free candy donned in costumes when I was in Kindergarten. That was my earliest memory.
-
I think it was probably around 9 or 10 years old, when I stopped getting enthusiastic about Halloween costumes and started to reuse the same one over and over (witch), which just ended the Halloween spirit for me.. I've never been too fond of receiving candy from strangers.
-
I finished my last year in elementary school when I was 12.
-
I stopped Trick Or Treating when I turned 18, kinda late I know but at the time I lived in a small town where it was normal. Now I enjoy passing out candy to kids:)
-
I quit around 12 or 13
-
I stopped when I was 10 years old. I no longer celebrate Halloween.
-
I have never stopped so I guess the trick is on me. But I am much more into the treating part than the tricking part of the holiday that I was in when I was a teen terror. :)
-
During elementary school, probably around 10. Too long ago to remember.
-
I love trick or treating!!! My kids do too! ;D
-
I stopped trick or treating around 15/not because i thought i was to old(nobodys to old to go trick or treating i thinks its for everyone)i just had no interest in it anymore.
-
I am in stage three of trick or treating. Stage one involved trick or treating from three in the afternoon until ten thirty in the evening. I did that up until I was fifteen. When my children were born I began stage two of trick or treating by taking them house to house until they were eleven and thirteen. Now they are thirteen and fifteen and want to go out on their own while we hand out candy and drink wine with the neighbors. I am sure that, in ten-fourteen years, stage four will hit when I take the grand children out trick or treating. I will have come full circle!

I THINK YOU should quit at age 12
That's the age I quit when my family and I were still celebrating Halloween. I remember that year a couple of houses I stopped at told me I was "too big" to be trick-or-treating. I felt so embarrassed, I went back home with a half of bucket of candy. lol Then in high school, I was called "boring" by one of my friends for asking her if she was still trick-or-treating at her age. We were fifteen at the time.
-
Still going trick or treating, I don't think I will ever stop lol.
-
8) Well, I'm 59 and I haven't been trick or treating since my children were young however I loved both dressing up and handing out candy until we moved to a rural area and no one ever comes out here trick or treating because houses are too far apart so now lol I just buy my own candy and eat it.
-
I don't trick or treating. It is one event that my family does not participating in. I believe that halloween is a celebration of the dead or the underworld. It is my personnal opinion and religious belief. I hope that I did not offend anyone.
-
I don't remember when I actually stopped trick or treating, but I might have been around 10 or 11. I was discouraged by my parents to eat much candy to minimize cavities and this took the fun out of getting candy during this type of ritual. I spent the next few years, however, helping out passing out candy when people rang out the doorbell until the audience got older than I was.
-
i like trick or treaters to be children , once they become teenagers its not cute anymore, lol
-
I stopped trick or treating at age 10.
-
I stopped when the people started putting turnips, sweet potatoes, and persimmons in my pillowcase that I carried. It was right after World War Two and actually BB-Bats and Kits and maybe a Holloway sucker was all that was available. Oh, yes and popcorn *bleep* or puffed wheat *bleep*. Those wern't the good old days! :notworthy:
-
The last time I went trick or treating, I was 17. Definitely a little old, but a bunch of friends and myself had bought costumes for a Halloween party that got canceled, so we made the best of it!
Before that, I think I was 12 the last time I went trick or treating.
But I still love Halloween. I'm always the one passing out the candy because I love to see everyone in their costumes!
-
never the only difference nowis I don;t have to actually go out and trick or treat for it i sit and eat my own stash that i buy for the kids in the neighborhood. the key is to over buy so there is always enough....................
-
i think i stoped trick ot trating when i was about 11,,my mom said i was to old,, :crybaby2:
-
:) About age 10. I felt I was too big to keep doing it.
-
As a child we enjoyed trick or treaing. When I got older, I realize that halloween really glorifiesd the devil. So, I stopped years ago.
-
I guess I stopped treat or treating when I had children. I always thought it was kind of fun to dress up and go.
-
when i was 15 was my last year!
-
I don't do Halloween either, and when I was a kid I did not go trick or treating, my father did not beleive in it. I did let my children go trick or treating when they were small.
-
I think 9th grade was the last time I went. I still see adults come by and trick or treat. Cracks me up.
-
I remember trick or treating when I was in elementary school around our neighborhood. When I was in middle school we moved across town and there really wasn't many places to go. I was never big into dressing up. I do recall our mom made several of our costumes when we were kids. One year I was a white rabbit and my sister was a pink cat. I think our mom was inspired by the "A Christmas Story" scene where Ralph gets a pink bunny suit from his Aunt. I felt almost the same way... :bunny:
-
I quit a long time ago. The last couple of years I gave out candy I expected to see little kids and I got 20% little kids and 80% older teens. Oh well as long as they take all the candy I bought. :)
-
i stop trick or treating at age 10. i felt to big too keep on doing it.
-
I stopped trick or treating when I was 15. A few years after that I would take my neighbor's little ones around a few blocks to cash in on some sweet treats without being told I'm too old

A similar situation happened to me! I went trick or treating with my little sister and a woman gave us pamphlets to give to our parents about Jehovah's Witness or Latter Day Saints, a religion that doesn't celebrate Halloween, I don't remember exactly and some sort of insurance. When we left her door I said to my sister "I think we just got our first trick."
I went through 9th grade, took 10th off and gave out candy, then did Trick or Treat for UNICEF 11th and 12th and both years people gave me candy because the kids age population decreased, I was by myself and they thought it was sweet of me to do.
-
We don't celebrate or dress up for Halloween!!
-
this year i'm not going but next i'm going if you have kids you realy never stop trick or treating you go door to door to make sure your kids are safe
-
When I was growing up, I only got to go a few times. I think I've only gone maybe a handful of times in my whole life (and that doesn't include the few times I chaperoned kids). I knew people that still went until they were 18 or 19.
-
Never did ;D
My parents always have anything else that look more important than went outside ;D
-
Trick or treating was never my thing. It is not a favorite for me. It's creepy and after reading about how it came about it's not natural.
