I know that it's the thoughts that counts but check out what I received from my Mother-In-Law. A $5 Starbucks card and when I check online to register the card, the balance is actually $1.75. It's probably someone gave it to her then she used it then give it to me. That's my Mother-in-law folks... Mrs. Cheapstakes and I don't get along with her.

A tie. There's nothing wrong with a tie, but if that's what everyone gives you all the time then it's a problem. It's not like I don't have any ties, I must have about fifty of them.

I got a used western book from my husband!!! lol He had put $$ inside it though for me to buy something with. Thats him; always joking!!

I can't think of a worst gift. I guess I am lucky.

If it's a card where they start deducting money from it after some time has passed without use, she might not have realized it. Someone might have given it to her and maybe she doesn't go to Starbucks or thought it might be better appreciated by you. I don't know her so I can't say for sure but she might not have meant to do that intentionally, she would probably be really embarrassed if she knew the balance had dropped to $1.75. I would think it best not to tell her and appreciate the $1.75 unless she has a history of this sort of thing...if you know for sure that she did it on purpose I'd let her know that "NO" gifts would be better appreciated.

I wouldn't say it was the worst gift I ever got. I was pregnant at Christmas time in 1987 and all my gifts were for the baby to use when he was born.

A night in jail! I was goin through a divorce, I went by the house to drop off presents, my wife and I got into it, you know the rest. It wasn't a good year for me at all. Thanks for the memories! :(

A giant oversize tshirt with a wolf on it. Um.
-
T-shirts probably in the wrong size. I once received a used piece of clothing from my mother in law, which was probably the only gift she ever gave me. After that, I made it clear, that I dont expect any gifts.

Didn't realize there was anything at starbucks under 5 dollars to begin with.
-
I cannot say I got a bad gift. All of mine were real nice.
-
All my gifts were nice, but I could have done with out all the candy my kids put in my stocking...lol
-
I don't think I ever did receive a worst gift - I generally appreciate everything I'm given, and enjoy it.
-
I got lucky this year too. Nothing terrible LOL. The adults in my family decided last year to stop exchanging gifts and just buy for the kids so it took a lot of the strange gifts out of the picture.
-
I got great gifts, but in the wrong order. My boyfriend bought me a 40 gallon fish tank, but gave it to me after I had opened an aquarium plant... So I got a tiny present that ruined the surprise of the big present, but I like the colors of the plant... so it all worked out in the end. lol

My mom would give me pocket tissues every year. She has always gotten horrible gifts. Now she finally listens to what people want for gifts.
-
The worst gift was when i was little i received a porcelain doll(i didnt like them and still dont)
-
My worst gift was not that the gift itself was bad, but that the gift was something I actually got the person and apparently had regifted back to me (probably forgot who gave this to him). A bad gift I can think of getting is post it notes through a secret Santa when we have a price range requirement. Post it notes are not necessarily cheap, but still...
-
My worst gift was when I received nothing....... Something is always better than nothing!!!!
-
My Fusion Cash members, please remember that The thought by the other person to buy you a gift, is more important than the gift itself.....the cost is irrelivant. Remember it is better to give than to receive.

thick brown boots when i was a lil girl

A watch, jewelry, perfume, ugly sweaters. I try not to think of them as bad gifts though.. It's the thought that counts! :)

A book about the USS Constitution. I was in high school at the time and my aunt knew I was an Advanced History, so she thought I'd like it. HUH?

I did not received a bad gift, thanks be to God. Christmas was great!

A few years ago my mom got me a hideous lime green vest with flip flops on it. I still don't know what she was thinking.. hehe

Hello,
The worst gift I had was a vanishing gift. I was got a gift from my father that was no gift at all for my birthday. I was travelling out of the country to Montreal on my birthday to go to a concert. My father stated that he would "get the hotel for me", which was at the YMCA. When I got to the YMCA, the reservation attendant stated that the hotel was merely "booked" for me with the credit card and not paid for. So, he just "booked" the hotel, and not actually paid for the hotel. Mind you, I was out of the country at this point. Luckily, I had a few dollars in my pocket to pay for the hotel (YMCA) myself.
The YMCA there is chaos. I accidentally got out on the wrong floor, and look like a scene out of "hoop dreams", but worse. The rooms were broken into and the hallway was completely smashed. Well, I am alive today.

i really cant recall a worst gift. althou the $65 phone card for my new phone was kinda a waste there is no way im using 50,000 minutes in 1 month. i activated it on chirstmas and have only used 170 minutes. maybe if i left my phone broweers open 24/7 i could make use of that card. not really a bad gift the person just may have not understood what they were actually buying as its also unlimited internationally caller and i have no one to call overseas

when I was a teenager I got some socks from one of my friends. I was shocked even when money is tight there are so many things you can get a teenage girl that is cheap. I wanted to ask her what was she thinking but I didn't

Years ago my husband gave me a blender for Christmas and three of my friends received diamond earrings from their husbands. That was a real bummer!!

I don't celabrate the holidays anymore but when I did I never took anything back to the store (unless it didn't fit) But that is the way I was, I have not celebrated the holidays after my grandmother died it was like she was the glue, to me as a teenager getting ready to go out on my own all I saw ways selfishness, greed, and disrespect and all the drinking I was the oldest of all the kids so I got stuck baby sitting everyone elses children. Once I had my own child I still didn't celabrate but he recieved gifts from me often he didn't feel left out wiith the other kids and I also taught him from the bible that it isn't christ birthday, my change on life when I found out I was pregnant was a 90 degree turn, hopefully you wont judge me for that but I had a rough time the four years in high school and trade school but my unborn child made me change in a good way and I left that life and started over.

i once got a gift of wine or liquor from my boss at work even though he knew i didnt drink. I just waited till he wasnt looking and gave it to one of my coworkers who enoyed it much more than i would ever have

A shirt from my mom in law that's a bit too big for me. She got it mail order so I can't return it. So I gave it to my mom...at least she can wear it around the house. :)

A picture of a crow and underneath the caption, "I too need love". ??? ??? ???

Some years back a boyfriend bought me these expensive suits as gifts. I was in my twenties and these suits were for someone in their 70's. I could not believe his lousy taste. I had to train him to buy what he sees me wearing and not what HE likes. I immediately returned them and bought myself these gorgeous pants suits with accessories of course.

barely married went to inlaws for christmas opened presents in front of everybody one at a time and my mil gave me underwear very embarrassing as i didnt know they very well yet ??? :sad1:
-
Yikes! I would be so bummed Starbucks is my favorite. Most my gifts have been pretty great but my mother in law likes to buy clothes that are way to big for me, this year she got me this really cute sweater that I was so excited over, but again way too big. She took the tags off it and everything so she couldn't return it or have it exchanged so I ended up just giving it back to her. Bummer :(

A box of boxers size 34.
Bless his heart, he is now my favorite student.
(I wear size 52.)

Hardly ever get a bad gift. They are gifts, right?
But, the one that I did actually return was a pair of red corduroy jeams my husband bought me in the mid eighties. Well, buckle bunnies, just couldn't do these jeans! Usually though, he is right on with the gifts and I have loved everything else he ever gave me.

Someone gave me something in a small jewelry box but it turned out to be a ring with flashing red eyes.
