How many here do couponing and does it work? I have used coupons here and there and it has helped some. I am going to use them more this year. I have watched the show extreme couponing and don't see how they do it but I am going to learn. I just want to solve on the items that I actually use and need.

It all comes down to where you are in your life, when I was young and had NO money, I was a coupon Queen, but now, I'm older and I only use them occasionally... but I still do...

I love coupons and use them for EVERYTHING! I even have a coupon blog called Cuppycake's Coupon Corner !
-
I use them as much as I can,
they save money but it can be a lot of work!
-
Well I don't do it but my mom does it really well and gets a lot of free stuff and cheap stuff. I really works she ends up paying very little at the end of each transaction.
-
I save $5.80 at the store today with coupons I printed--hey every little bit counts!
-
Coupons work as long as you use them on items you need. Good luck and happy couponing!
-
Yes, I use coupons. I'm still trying to figure out strategies for how to save even more.
-
I use coupons for the things I use only. But they are hard to come by.
-
I've found that, with coupons, often you end up spending money on something you would not normally buy. Advertisers call this spending "saving". I don't get it.
-
Been using coupons for years but in ca they don't double so can't save that way.I've found the Krazycoupon lady web site i get emails everyday. Some are pretty good she tells you how to combine cpns with things on sale. Also you sometimes get stuff for free they call it a money maker. I don't think you need to get 20 deodorants for free though that extreme cpn show is all about that.

Any time you save money, even if it's only a few dollars, it's effective. My dad & I use coupons @ grocery stores and save dozens of dollars.

I like to use coupons but I'm not very good at it. It would be nice to learn how to be better at it.

I've found it can be time consuming at the beginning as you are learning what you need to do such as look at sale ads, find coupons online, print the coupons and then lastly remember to use them. Practice will surely bring you to a point you know exactly what routine you find best to follow. I would say to start with the coupons but do rid yourself of the ones you didn't clip/keep as you might find a great deal on them and try the item/brand out. Then look at the sales papers by mail or online. Also hang onto these as some stores will honor the sales item, which can help if the item is cheaper at one store and the store you are doing the most shopping at will honor the sale price. Saves gas and time. Then I keep a document with my in store/reward card coupons along with my paper coupons. I include the name, savings and expiring date. I also create a separate document with the items found I would like to purchase to help with meals or personal items. Listing per store and what coupons apply. I pull the coupons, sales papers (if needed) and grocery list and there you have it. Sometimes it is a quick thing and sometimes not but you know when I need an extra $5 or $10 it sure comes in handy. Also note you won't always save a lot but if you pay for gas or specific items I feel it is well worth it. Hope this helps! PL

I love the idea of using coupons but you have to really search for the ones you need and I often forget to use them especially when I need to go get something in a hurry. I have seen what wonders the different makes in the total when I have used them. I think the people that really benefit from using them are the ones that buy in bulk.
-
I would love to do it but I'm really don't want to dedicate the time to it. Normally I just use them on occasion if I happen to see a coupon and was going to get the item anyway. Still, it's really frustrating how most of the coupon companies want you to print them out, which is a pain for me cause I don't have a printer that I can easily attach to my laptop. If I could just move them too my phone or something, that would be awesome.
-
i dont but i shud start
-
Yes! What I do is I make my grocery list first and then I go and find the coupons for the ites I have on my list online and print em! :D I also get lots of coupons in the mail mostly for Dollar Stores that come in handy! :D
-
I'm not good with coupons~but I like price-checking!!! Take a flyer to Walmart and they will match any price in it!
-
I only bother with the coupons for the things I regularly buy then I keep an eye out for sales on those things so I can combine the coupon with the sale price. Sales generally have regular cycles. I'm not willing to drive from store to store.
-
I love using coupons, but sometimes I don't have time to do the clipping. I have trouble concentrating at the store if the kids are with me so I end up no using the coupons and just throwing stuff in the basket that's on the list. I need to get more organized and find time when I can shop alone so I can save some cash.
-
A lot of people I know do it but I'm never that organized.
-
I use coupons all the time. Only on items that I use, or would like to try. I cut the coupons out of the Sunday paper, and check several coupon sites on the computer, including the Fusion Cash daily offer under "Paid to Click". I only print the coupons from the computer web sites that I will use. I then divide the coupons into categories, such as cleaning supplies, dairy, laundry, etc. I have envelopes marked accordingly with these items in alphabetical order. This way, when I'm looking for a certain item, it is easy to find. I look through the envelopes every month to discard any coupons that have expired. I'm not an extreme couponer, but every penny counts, just like Fusion Cash, which I love !!!
-
Sometimes when I shop with coupons I end up paying a coupon tax. Can someone explain that to me?
-
I do not use couponing as much as I use to. However, when I use couponing, I use it to purchase items on my next shopping trip. I use to hold on to coupons for weeks. Since, I do not coupon that often, I now use them immediately.
-
I love couponing and I love extreme couponing lol The thing is, they don't double coupon value where I currently live but I definitely enjoy saving a little money.
-
I try to do couponing, but every time I go to the store I forget to give the coupons. LOL :BangHead:
-
I would love couponing too but I suck at it too. Mainly because I forget to buy a Sunday paper and I don't have a printer at home for the coupons I wish they would just send them in the mail ::)
-
First of all I am so happy I'm not the only one who doesn't really get how the extreme couponers do it - other than i know that they do take advantage of double couponing and no grocery stores in our area do that but I still don't get it.......also don't get where they get all the coupons whatever :dontknow:
-
Couponing can be very time consuming, but I have saved a lot using coupons.
Never heard of a coupon tax. Perhaps you were getting the item free....you still have to pay sales tax for the item as if you were buying it.
You can have a subscription to the Sunday paper and have it delivered. It turns out to be cheaper than buying it at the store.
-
I have used a few.

:wave:Yes I coupon and have done it on and off for years. If you extreme coupon though, is it really saving if in a month/2 month time frame, you won't use it. Does storage of extra make your home look like a hoarders nest? I can typically for about 2wks of groceries, save $15 to $25. But you have to read ad pages, have your coupons organized and with you and ready at check out. And you have to be willing to shop more than 1 store. If more than 1 store to visit is along your normal traffic pattern, good but if you are going out of your way - is the amount you save equal to the extra gas. Lots to consider but I have to buy groceries and I have the time, you if I save a $1 here I can spend $1 there. :peace:
-
I use coupons on the items that I had planned on buying. I have never quite got into the extreme coupons. Not exactly sure how to start, but would like to.
-
Yes, I use coupons and sometimes I really save a lot. However, couponing has started to loose it's charm especially since most coupons are not for just 1 item anymore you have to buy 2 or 3 of the same items and sometimes more . I think this is because of all the extreme couponers and now even some stores will limit how many you can use. It is definitely better to use the coupons for something that is on sale because then it really pays to use the coupon.
-
My mom loves it, ive picked up the habit too
-
Yes I do. I love it. You can go to the website TheCouponClippers.com and order coupons too if you want to.
-
YES THEY AVTUALLUY DO WORK AND SAVE A TON OF MONEY BUT THE BAD SIDE IS IT TAKES UP ALOT OF TIME & YOU HAVE TO BE A PATIENT PERSON
-
i try to use coupons when i can find them. i usually use them for restaurants. they save me alot of green and sometimes i feed more then just me.
-
I have been an on and off couponer most of my life. I guess I got it from my mother. I watched the show Extreme Couponing and I love how they save so much money! I sort of know how they do it, but I'm not sure how to make it work for a two person household. That and I just don't have the storage space.
-
It helps some but you got to really study.
-
I also want to do that extreme couponing, but i really dont get how they do it..
-
i have started using store brand items. I have a hard time keeping up with all the coupons
-
I don't think that I could ever be skillful enough to be an extreme couponer. I hardly ever find any coupons that will help build a stockpile. But I do think this is a great idea; and I wish I could learn to do it where it would be really beneficial.
-
I started couponing over a year ago. I have saved some on my gros. and one time I got 10 bottles of barbeque sauce free. The store had them on sale for $1 each and I have 10 coupons for $1 off. I hope everyone has a good week and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
-
I have tried using coupons from different sites and the stores wont accept them.
-
The stores around here will only take one of each coupon now because of the extreme stuff.
-
I have used coupons but would love to learn to really save like they do on extreme couponing! More and more people I know are taking classes on couponing!
-
I went to the grocery store over the weekend and my total bill was $103 but only paid $54.00. All the items that I purchased was on sale and I had coupons for everything except 2 of the items. The store that I went to also doubles up to 50 cent coupons (so the coupons that I had for 50 cents doubled to $1.00 which helped me).
-
I try to use coupons when i remember to. :angel12: :angel12:
-
I admire the people on the show extreme couponing. However, I use coupons for items I actually use not to buy items that would sit on a shelf for balance or the appearance of my collection. One woman moved her significant other into the basement to do his studying to make room for more shelves to store goods.
