I went to the store yesterday and they already have Easter things out. WHY? Why do they do that so early? :o
-
they trying to get you in the mood to spend that cash and buy early then come back and buy again....money how to make it...
-
It does seem like stores plunge into the next holiday as soon as one is over. It is all about promotion and marketing. The more consumers see a product, the more likely they are to think about it, then want it and eventually buy it. If they buy it early in the promotion, they might want to get another and so on.
-
Bottom Line: It's all about sales and money
-
Impulse buying on the part of the consumer. If you waited until the last minute to buy for the last celebration...you tell yourself never again and feel good about yourself for taking care of the upcoming one early.
-
It is annoying but it must work for them because it seems they do it earlier all the time.
-
Putting things out early gives consumers time to compare prices. And when it comes to money these days the best price wins.
-
They have been doing this now for some years. It all comes down to money.
-
I was really surprised when I was at the store and saw Easter candy being put out. My sister said she was at the store the day BEFORE Valentine's and they were already putting it out. What.
-
Because it's about making money. Back in the 50's and 60's I remember you never saw Christmas things until after Thanksgiving....etc. The retailers have actually taken the fun out of the holidays. It doesn't really effect me because I keep it very very simple with gift buying, cooking and decorating. The holidays, to me, are for being with loved ones more than anything. I refuse to get stressed out over a holiday that promotes peace, joy, love and being thankful.

I don't think seeing Easter stuff now is too early... After all, it's only about a month away. After Ash Wednesday, we're into the lenten season, and people are already getting into the spirit for that holiday. However, when you see Christmas stuff out before Halloween or even Valentine's stuff out right after Christmas, I think that's going a little over board.
-
They're trying to cash in on the festive atmosphere that encourages shoppers to buy from them. I used to get annoyed by them doing that, but now I'm used to it.
-
cold har casj, money makes the world go round
-
They had Easter stuff and St Paddy's stuff out months ago. I hate it. Stop trying to rush my life away.
-
When I worked for Walgreens, we would receive Christmas stuff back in July and August and it would just stay in the stockroom. All businesses know people shell out tons of money for holidays, so they just milk it for all its worth.
-
To make more money. The earlier they put that stuff out the longer you'll be thinking about it and probably be spending money on it.
-
Stores simply like to make money and more of it, even if that means putting out items like Easter eggs in February :dontknow:.
-
Because that is what stores do best, they use the holidays to gather customers and make money off of them, the holidays are not for us they are for cooperate giants.
-
Competition is the name of the game.

Profits

it is called money, money, money. Whoever get the merchindise out the earliest makes the most money.

:bunny: :bunny:Easter is also early this year. It is in March, so it is not as early or far away as you think. :bunny: :bunny:

talking about holidays earlier gives stores a theme for them to decorate stores......corporate offices think if you start pushing holiday-themed stuff in front of customers, they'll be convinced into buying stuff you weren't really planning to buy, even after you pass over that stuff the first few visits.
