Canning bacon doesn't sound all that appetizing. I prefer my bacon crisp.

I don't think you can, can bacon.  I wouldn't want to.  It would be one big messy, greasy glob.  Ewww :)

Well I know you can "can" bacon because it is being sold online and is supposed to be actually very tasty.  We bought some but keep it for hurricane/emergency supplies so don't know what it tastes like but there are a lot of youtube videos about it.

This is the first time I have heard of can bacon.  I really like bacon but the thoughts of it being canned doesn't sound very appealing to me.  If anyone has ever ttied it I would like to know how it tasted.

I'm not sure how canned bacon would taste. I would imagine similar to the bacon chunks that come in Bush's baked beans or something.

I don't doubt you could can bacon, but I don't know why you would want to.

Poor little pigs.....they just oinked really loud as I was reading this....sounds kinda tacky....but they can everything else, why not can bacon....and you cook it yourself so you can have it crisp.....

I don't like the smell or taste. I always get weird looks when I say I don't like bacon. I also don't like some other foods that get me weird looks but what can you do?

now i feel as if i know nothing you know what i mean i had no idea that you could can bacon :o :D

I would be more worried if you knew what all foods can and cannot be canned.

Now this is something new. I can't imagine bacon being kept or preserved in a can  ??? Man has canned some of the strangest items and I guess if they can can meats in soups and other meats such as, tuna and chicken-then why not bacon. I guess it would be safe to assume something such as bacon would be next. Not sure yet if I would like this idea, however, I will be willing to try it at least once  :)!

I keep some on hand. it is great out camping, using in the motor home or just in case at home. I would rather have fresh,, but there are times it comes in handy,

I have heard of canning all kinds of things, but never of canning bacon. Sounds very strange.

I've heard of something similar called bacon jam (or marmalade) where you cook bacon and onions and add brown sugar and spices so that the end result is something like a spread. You can put it on your hamburgers or spread it on crackers or whatever else you want to put it on. Yum! I heard it was really delicious and one day I am going to try and make it as a treat. I love bacon but don't buy it a lot as I am trying to eat healthier.
