Post by: Gerianne on February 25, 2013, 06:03:21 am
If you had a choice and were going a short distance, would you rather take a walk or take a drive?

It would depend where I was going and why. Also what my schedule was like.
oh also the weather! If its cold or rainy I would be tempted to drive even if it was less than 2 blocks
if it was beautiful out and i wasnt in a rush i would rather walk
i have alot of stores within walkin distance to my house but i wouldnt want to carry back 10 bags of stuff!

Walk, Walking is a whole lot better for you than driving. Just if your with someone, you both can have a nice long conversation and if you get a whole bunch of your friends to go with you. Heck, it'll just be that much more fun.

If I was just visiting the place, probably would walk as I live walking.  If I was picking up a bunch of packages at the destination, I would probably drive as I probably would not be able to carry all the items back.

I drive, I am getting old and find walking to be quite a chore. But I have taken walks on occasion.

I would rather drive if going a short distance....but going a long distance, I would rather take a train.  I hate driving for hours.  I am about to go on a trip and I am going to take a train...thank goodness.

If it's a short walk I'll walk.  If it's more than a mile I will drive.  I like walking so it also depends on the weather and traffic conditions.  If there are sidewalks I can walk on and it's easy to get to I will walk.  If walking is difficult because there are no sidewalks or crosswalks it's better to drive.

If it is short distance I rather walk than to drive, its a good exercise to the body and at the same time save gasoline.

Depends on the circumstances: time, weather, distance, etc.  Walking is much better for me, but I might prefer to drive  ;D

Depends upon where I was going and why.  My brother and I take a long walk everyday to lose weight and get back into shape but we drive to appointments and business dealings or to go to our friends house.

It all depends on where I am going and how far it is, I love to do both...but I find that walking is really good for you.

when i'm in my walking or workout mode it's walking all day. Why not walk if it's a short distance it would be lazy to drive. unless it's winter and freezing i'm not walking anywhere

If you had a choice and were going a short distance, would you rather take a walk or take a drive?

I think walking is much healthier for you than driving

I would choose depending on the amount of time I had, where I had to go and how the weather is. At the moment I would choose driving as I'm not in the best of health at the moment and I don't want to aggravate what I have right now going in the freezing cold.

Walking is great for your health!   I find it a marvelous way to relieve stress while bonding with my dog

I would much rather walk.  However, I live in a small town where things are kind of spread out and everyone drives.  I swear people think if you are walking, you must not have a car, have a legal problem, or are just poor.  People seem to be suspicious.

If time is not a concern, I would definitely walk. Driving down the block is just a waste of gas. It’s sad the American lifestyle relies too much on driving that we are grossly out of shape. Unless you have to carry bulky or heavy items, then it’s reasonable to drive.

I am a lazy bones by nature.  Of course, I don't drive to the mailbox (we have a long driveway) but anywhere else I am going to drive.

it would depend on where, time etc, if we there is no time constraint, if somebody's is there with me i like going by walking so you can talk, enjoy the climate etc
When going alone i prefer car, but again if its really short distance i dont mind walking

If I had my choice it would usually be walking. You get exercise and get to smell the roses at the same time.

Depends.  If I'm just going there and not carrying anything back (like groceries or shopping bags) I'd probably just walk.  However, it's freezing cold outside right now so I go everywhere in my car now just cause I feel it's safe.

I'd probably walk. I've walked for half an hour before to my house and the bus was just pulling into the bus stop as I was opening my house door. Would have been standing at the bus stop for a while.

I think walk is a good idea.  Most of the time I walk especially now a day gas is increasing.

Depends on the errand.   If loaded with heavy groceries or packages, then drive.  But when possible, to save gas, walk if the weather is not bitter cold or pouring rain.

If it is only 1/2 mile each way, I would rather walk! Other than that I think it would take me too much time to get to where I was going and back especially if I was going to the store and had to cary bags back with me!

Perhaps it's just because I walk a newspaper route every morning, but I prefer to walk. However in the summer time I am fond of sometimes taking a bike.

I do not have a car right now so if I need something from the dollar store it is about 3-4 blocks I walk.  Just sometimes the stuff is too hard to carry back.  SO , I bye just a little at a time.  I need  old lady cart.  LOL
