I thought this would be an interesting topic as things are not always what they appear especially online. So, I am sure I will get some truthful answers and some not so truthful. I try to be an honest and truthful person but some of my actions can be misleading and deceptive. I am a male, 51 years of age, working on my second marrage (19 years). My profile picture was taken of me 25 years ago when I was single about 25 years old between marrages and in the prime of life. Born December 01, 1961. The happiest year of my life was probably 1971 when I was 9 years old.

41, female, (mostly) nonpracticing attorney now building my own business and supplementing with some easy online cash, preteen twins, divorced and still waiting for the right frog to hop past.
I don't use my real pic anywhere online unless it's attached to my actual profession. But no, I don't really look anything like that in real life. Shocker, right? ;D

So if you're actually trying to be an honest and truthful person, why use a picture of yourself that's 25 years old? I doesn't represent you as you truly are now. It's pretty simple to take a pic of yourself with a camera phone or a digital point and shoot and post a current avatar. Just wondering why you chose to do that. And ask that other people reveal their personal info.
And, no, I have no avatar or personal details here because my prime goal is to earn a bit of cash. I'm not here looking for an online relationship or even friends since I have very little in common with anyone here other than the goal of making some extra cash. The kind of personal information you want should be on a need to know basis and there's no need for anyone here to know it.

@goldcatt, thanks for the reply. I was first married in 1984, join the Marine Corps that same year, devorced 2 years later and remarried in 1994. I have two twin boys from my first marrage now 28 yrs old and from my present marrage of 19 yrs we have a 18 yr boy a 15 yr girl and a 4 yr old boy ... 5 in total 4 boys 1 girl ... life definately has it's challenges!

Yes, I like to paraphrase John Lennon at times...Life's what happens while you're busy making other plans. I'm not comfortable going into a whole lot of detail, but I will say I feel ya there.
Still, I wouldn't change even the hard choices for the world. They make us who we are. And I have to admit, I'm having the time of my life right now building something that's all my own with my own two hands and doing hat I love to do. It's a bit feast and famine, but that's what all that easy money lying around the internet is for....the famine times! AND my kiddos aren't being raised by hired help anymore. No amount of money is worth what they were having to deal with. So all in all, things work out for the best if you just do the work to make it happen.
Five! With that age range, too. And you're still relatively sane? :notworthy:

@nhendrickson, thanks for your reply post! Your sentiments I think are quite common and more so than not and I am glad you posted as I appreciate your input as I feel it is very valid and contributes to the discussion. As far as your question of why use a picture that is 25 years old ... Honestly, I use it for branding purposes, it is far better looking then the present but for those that want an actual view of what I look like now at 51 they can go to my youtube channel. And, where I do use this picture like on my website, I provide a disclaimer. I started using this picture after being diagnosed with Stage 3A rectal cancer in March 2010. Given 18 months to live if I did nothing, this is a picture of how I wanted to be remebered.

Nice topic!!!! My name is Keshia, Im 21 years of age, Ihave one child his name is Johnathan and he will be 3 on April 10. Im married to his father, He is such a nice caring man. We been together for 4 years in a half. We are not having more kids in the future because 1 chils os enought. :)

Thanks for the replies! So far we have both genders posting. Age range 54-21. Some are married some divorced. At age 51, I feel older than what I feel I should so I feel I need to make a conscious effort to be more active and engaged. To maybe change my eating habits and activities that would be more condusive to providing more energy and zest for living. It is so easy for me to get in ruts of inactivity and bad habits. Over the years since high school I have managed to gain over 100lbs. Two days ago I started a goal to lose 90 pounds taking me to 160lbs. On adverage I want to lose 1 pound a day for 90 days. Looking forward to getting to know others better. Thanks FC for allowing "Off Topic Posts", it makes me feel that FC cares about it's members and keeping them happy and earning. FC is just one of the best opportunities online today!

I am a 46 year old female, married for 21 and a half years and the mother of three beautiful girls 21, 18 and 10. I am a stay at home mom just trying to get the 18 year old to pass junior year and the 10 year old to pass 5th grade. My husband and I even though married 21 and a half years have been together almost 23 and there is a ten year difference between us. He is 56. :thumbsup:

aw geez i will be 70 in may, married and divorced a couple of times. I am noman's whipping post. But am married now for 20 years to a very good and caringg man. Had two boys but both have passed. Good Lord called them home sooner i would have liked. Most of you are almost the same age of my oldest (52 in June). So you have a long ways to go. As for you Almorin i will say an extra prayer tonight.

I am married and am 38 years old. I have an 18 year old daughter from a previous relationship.
She will be 19 this year and I will be 39 this year. :D
My husband is younger than I am, but it really doesn't matter. We were married last year, so this year we celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. This is my second marriage. My first marriage was just a huge joke and a waste of my life. I learned a lot from it, though.
I love my husband dearly. His name is Christopher and my name is Christine. So, we are known as Chris & Chris.

I'm a female. 37 and technically single. My boyfriend and I live together with my 3 kids from a 12 year marriage. My bf and I refer to each other as spouse as we both fully intend on marrying someday. In face we both have fiance posted on our fb accounts. Although he hasn't popped the question and I'm waiting patiently we make joint decisions regarding 99% of everything that is going to affect our futures together. Interesting thread here.

Female, married as a teenager that has lasted for 42 years and counting, 4 kids, 5 grandkids. Recently hit the big 60, and it hit me harder than I thought it would...I mean it is just a number. People also think I am about 10 years younger. I don't put my picture on any sites, except for my professional one. Until about 4-5 years ago had no health or money worries for me or my husband. Then he was involved in an accident at work and is now on permanent disability, a company I had worked for for 30 years went belly up, with our retirement accounts going under with it. So it almost seems like when we were first married the money struggles we have. Thank God I found this site and a few others to make some money from home, and I do mystery shopping (haven't had to pay for groceries since I started that 2 years ago!). Unfortunately people don't wont to hire workers that are older nor do they want to pay anything like what I was use to earning. But luckily my husband has recently been able to find a part time job, after 5 years of rehab that makes him feel better and helps the budget a lot! And I will keep looking. Even with insurance and his company paying a lot, medical bills can wipe out any savings you have. So we have no cushion now. BUT we are both healthy now and still happy after all these years just broke, so no retirement soon! (Sometimes I have to just blow off a little steam, so today you all get to be my audience for my soap box speech!) HA HA HA LOL

21 year old, female here, and (GASP!) a widow. My husband died last August. We were going through an unfortunate divorce and custody battle, when he died of hypertension due to an overdose on medication. Today, I am contentedly in a relationship without drama or stress. Don't get me wrong, I loved my husband very much, but waking up every day to an argument was no way to live life. My current SOS and I fight but not the way my latest husband and I did. I also feel like when I married, I married in a rush. This relationship I am taking nice and slow, and have told my SOS don't expect wedding bells anytime soon.

Hey all Albert Ivor Morin here male, 51yrs, married w/3 children at home and 2 children away. I started this post so, I feel a sense of responsibility to keep it going. I appreciate all the reply posts. Nothing is more personal than our age and relationships. Life takes on all kinds of twists and turns and we each have our own life struggles and challenges. I often refer to life as a rollar coaster with all the ups, downs and turns. It is our life experiences that make us who we are ... "unique" ...
