Title: Ready Or Fixer Upper
Post by: metsrock69 on April 01, 2013, 12:53:35 am
Would You Buy A House That Is Ready To Move In Or A Fixer Upper. I Like Project Houses. I Like To Do Things The Way I Want And Design Different Rooms For Different Themes.
You Can Do That With A Ready To Move In House But I Just Like The Work.

I have always wanted a fixer upper...

But.. as I have gotten older...
It is not for me.

I would love to be able to buy a house and move right in.

Instead of paying rent every month.
To think of how much money I have thrown away all these many decades... sickens me.

Yes.. ready to move in.. but it would have to be exactly what I am looking for.

We didn't buy a fixer upper, but a "has possibilities", needless to say, 20+ years later it is still a "has possibilities"!  If we moved now, it would definitely be a ready to move in!

My 1st house (the one I still live in) was a fixer upper.

It was fun but seemed like a never ending job.

My next house will be ready to move in.

I like ones that are ready to move in but need some tender loving care.

I like a house that is already to move in.  I then can add my own personal touches to how I want things to look in the home.

i'd prefer move-in ready, but i don't really like newer
house designs. most lack character and give off a "factory"
assembly line vibe. i'd want a movie-in ready, older home.
gotta have those great hardwood floors...

If I was more of a handyman, I would love to buy a Fixer upper since it would cost less and also to have the fun of doing the fixing!!! but since I am no handyman, I will buy a ready to move in house

I would want it livable but i wouldn't mind a house that needed a bit of work here and there.

I live in a fixer upper, so I need a ready house where the roof doesn't leak or anything.  When you are sleep and your hubby is next to you snoring, it is hard to not want a ready house. :o ??? :o

I like houses ready to move into.

You can always add your own flair.

It depends.  If it's a house I've fallen in love with and I have it in my budget to fix it up I'd go for it.  Otherwise, I'd just wait and save up more (like I'm doing now) and find something move in ready not b/c I'm afraid to be uncomfortable for a little while to create the home of my dreams, but b/c you never know what other problems exist.

I love fixer uppers.  I like to do what I want with a place and make it my own.  Good question...enjoy your day everyone.

I'm lazy so I'd only buy a house with no problems... You're smarter though because you can save (and make) lots of money by fixing up your house.

I would love to buy a fixer-upper, but as things stand now, I don't think we'll ever be able to buy our own place. To rent....definitely a "ready to move in" place as one cannot really change the house anyhow.

I want a move in ready.  You can always add your own changes, we did, but most of the work was done.  We really just did cosmetic changes.

I want a house that is ready to move into. In a fixer-upper, you never know just how many problems there really are.
