does anyone remember danger mouse?
I'm 19 and hey arnold! and the show about monsters were my favorites. There was another one I loved but I dont remember it :(
Before TV had some great toons, and lots of them. But now TV sucks, you can't find anything good to watch. I browse through the channels, shake my head, and just switch the TV off. :angry7:
My little sister is 13 and she has no memory of the Loony Toons. When I tried to tell her that Loonatics Unleashed was using the characters from an older and much better cartoon she just called me a liar. It really is a shame, most the cartoons today don't even make sense and the remakes of classics, such as the new adventures of tom and jerry just fall flat.
Does anyone know if there's a website where you can watch the old classics? I know hulu hosts some shows like Rocky & Bullwinkle, Felix the Cat, and Fat Albert, but I'd like to find others like the Jetsons and Underdog.
It would also be nice if Nick at Night still showed REAL classic TV like they use to. Like *bleep* Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Taxi, I Love Lucy, Bewitched, and all those greats that made TV into what it was today. I wasn't even born before most of those shows were around so I couldn't be anymore greatful for Nick at Night showing them back then... if I grew up with the stuff on there now I'd have no idea about the roots of television. It makes me really sad that no one will get to see them now. They would definitely still enjoy them. I was watching them in middle school in the late 90's and loved them, so I know it wouldn't NOT be relivant to kids today just because they're older shows.
My favorite old cartoons were not on the poll. I want them to bring back old cartoons like The Smurfs, He-Man, Woody Woodpecker, Foghorn Leghorn (the rooster from Bugs Bunny), and especially Tasmania (with TAZ ). These cartoons they are showing on TV now are just too confusing! My kids stay glued to the TV and I sit there with them completely lost as to what is going on. Are any other parents having trouble understanding why the kids are so fascinated with these cartoons now? The old cartoons are just plain funny and simple to understand. A pie in the face, or an anvil on the head needs no explanation. ;D

I couldn't agree more! When I was in elementary school I'd stay up all night during the summer watching Nick at Night and Vault Disney. My favorites were I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, The Addams Family, The Original Mickey Mouse Club, and the original Wonderful World of Disney (I really liked Donald in Mathmagic Land). Then they went and moved all the classics to TV Land and Boomerang and Disney got on the kick of remaking everything. Maybe if these shows were still on basic cable I'd start watching TV again.
By the way, I'm also a youngin' just 20 and I can appreciate the oldies.
actually the ninja turtles have been back out for at least 7 or 8 years. and i can't wait until next month when they bring the ninja turtles of the '80s together with the ninja turtles of today in theaters for their 25th Anniversary "Shell-ebration" check out the website http://www.tmnt25.com/shellebration.html for more information on the "Shell-ebration"
Oh, the Smurfs! How could I have forgotten those little blue guys? (Even if I never did figure out why there was only Smurfette and Sassette for girls... :-)The smurfs were an all male species. Smurfette was created by Gargamel. She had short black hair in the beginning, but got the long blond hair after Papa Smurf did a spell to turn her into a real smurf.
Well some of those are before my time. My cartoon era is late 70s and early 80's. Smurfs, Thundercats, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, and other great 80 cartoons.Yea those are some of my favorite cartoons too. I also like the Flintstones, Jetsons and Top cat. They Still come on t.v. if you have a channel called Boomerang.
