Title: Human Intelligence task - question about the "Search Google" tasks
Post by: tea4me on April 09, 2013, 03:45:03 pm
Guess I should ask this on the CrowdFlower forum on CF's site, but I only just thought of that.  Anyway, on the tasks where you are to do a search on Google for a specific phrase, are you supposed to use parentheses or not?  It never says.

For example, if you were to search for doughnuts, do you type in 'doughnuts' or just doughnuts ?  Does it matter?

Thanks in advance!

I think it matters as it has a negative effect on your search. As earlier pointed out, the task specifically states that you should not use them. It is indicated like this: Please search for... without the quotes. So you do not need the quotes.

Thanks, everyone!  I don't recall it saying whether to use quotes or not (I earlier said 'parentheses' in error, sorry).  I will try them now.  Thank you, again!
