How many of your like to actually hold a newspaper and read it? everything is so computerized now, that it seems that newspapers, books etc are becoming extinct. I still like to hold a newspaper or book in my hand and read it although I have no problem with them being computerized. But it's putting editors and such out of work as physical newspaper sales are down.
-
I would say I pick up a newspaper about two times a week when I go over to my mom's house. It takes me about five minutes to read the whole thing and most of what I read I have already heard from websites or on the radio. I think it is good for some local news but for national news it is outdated by the time it gets printed.
-
I use the internet for most of my news but frankly I don't particularly like keeping up on the news anyway as it can be very depressing. Even though I now bad things happen every day I usually don't want to know about it.
-
I don't but my husband does
-
I love to read books and mags in their paper form, but I hate the way newspaper ink rubs off.
-
When the paper started going from the driveway directly to the recycle bin I knew it was time to d/c the subscription ! We already feel inundated by news from internet and TV. However I really enjoy picking up a local paper while traveling. You can get such a good sense of the personality of the town and some hints on what to do, where to eat and all the local lore.
-
Once a week, our community distributes a small town newspaper that is now free (guess they make their money from ads I don't know) but I do read it.
-
Yes, but not very often
-
Yes have to get the coupons from the paper on Sunday but don't read much any news is on the net or t.v.
-
no only online but I do only read actual books the thought of reading a book online or any other form doesn't appeal to me
-
I still read a print version of a newspaper, not every day. I read the news on line more. Unless something is really interesting then I'll watch the news on t.v., like when the Boston bombings happened, etc... then you get more update and faster news.
-
I still read the weekly newspaper out at my dads. I long ago quit haveing it come to house. But since he does not andwill not use a computer i buy him a subscription every year. and Then i also buy forme and one for my brother a quarterly news from the town we rew up in in our teens and we know everyone. Really enjoy it,
-
I have to disagree with you mentioning books and newspapers becoming extinct. I still see people buying and reading the newspapers. Books in my opinion will still be around for some time. It’s just a personal choice for people to read the news or e-books online.
-
I do not like the paper and the ink...it simply too messy. I go online and see if it is available.
-
I don't receive a newspaper subscription anymore, but when I did I did read some of the news stories. I still prefer paperback and audiobooks to the tablets and always will. I get a lot of news on the internet true, but I get just as much from just watching tv. It's nice to use the internet to get news, but newspapers will always have a place. Not everyone has the internet nor intends to get it. There was a time when we couldn't even afford it and there is no guarantee that it will always be affordable. But the newspaper is usually about a $1 or less so that will always be fine with me to supplement tv news. Plus I just like having certain news articles to archive.
-
i like to,but it seems everything i read is on the computer
-
Yes I do, but ours is getting smaller and smaller. I think journalism itself is becoming an outdated profession. So many people seem to get their news from Twitter and Facebook and websites rather than actual news sources.
-
I read one every now and then. A friend of mine told my daughter when we were growing up, while most of them were just learning to read the comics, I was reading the newspaper. That was because I was reading at the age of 2.
-
Yes I do.
-
I read it when someone leaves it on the lunch table and it's free. I can't afford to purchase the daily paper. The neighbor brings the used paper to us a couple of times a week and I use it under my dogs potty pads. In exchange the neighbor puts their trash in our cans and doesn't pay a monthly bill.
-
I get on puter for home town paper everyday just to see what is going on. But I buy a paper every Sunday to get the coupons. That is the only time I will buy one.
-
I just go online and check out the headlines. I can't afford to buy the newspaper everyday.
-
Yes....we get a weekend paper deilivered to the house. We check out the local ads, and see what deals they are having!
-
I do but not every day mainly to keep up with the local news. I will usually sit down once a week and catch up on all of the local news. Our local news stations cover news for three states so we don't get much localized news unless we read the weekly town newspaper.
-
I still read and prefer newspapers and books that are printed on paper.
-
I do get the local paper delivered to my house and read it every day that it is printed. It might be much in the paper, but I still read it.
-
Funny enough I only read the newspaper for the comics and to do the crossword and Sudoku puzzles lol
-
Yes, we still get the paper delivered everyday. I always read the local section and glance over the world news.
-
Yes, whenever I have time I'll read a physical newspaper because there're different from the computer copy.
-
I normally get my info from the internet but, sometimes I read the paper. I like to some of my local news in print.
-
I don't buy newspapers but I get the free local newspaper and read it on the train in the mornings.
-
I pick up a newspaper when I go on vacation, if it is lying around at the office, or if someone offers it to me for free. Occasionally I will look at a newspaper while I am at the library or read the headlines while at the grocery store. I am pretty cheap and can't see parting with a dollar for something that will be trash within an hour and I can get just as much knowledge from the internet. When I do buy newspapers I will buy the specialized ones like Investor's business Daily, Barrons, Business Journal and sometimes the Wallstreet Journal because they provide me with a new perspective and I generally learn new things and catch on to market trends.
-
I also like to read a physical paper, especially on Sunday.
-
I was never a big fan of reading the physical paper. I didn't like that the ink would rub off on my hands. We still get a paper at work, and only the two older lawyers read it every day. I get my news off the internet.
-
This is a very funny question..lol No, I do not still read a "physical newspaper". I do all my News and Sports reading on-line, I do not even remember the last time I held a News paper
-
I dont read but i purchase it once in a while for the coupons
-
Yes I still read a physical newspaper some times.
-
I never really read a newspaper in the first place, but it is almost obsolete if you ask me. It is much easier to get the information online or on broadcast news. Of course, you have to find a trusted source...
-
We don't read a newspaper. Between the internet and TV we get all the news we need. Newspapers are almost obsolete. I do occasionally scan a small local weekly paper with local news but that's all and not all the time.
-
I read our local newspaper, the others not so much. I do like reading hand-held books as I can always interrupt that activity at any time, use a bookmarker, and return to it as my schedule allows. I suppose you can do something similiar with a Kindle but that would be just another appliance to have to keep charged.
-
yes I do but paper gets smaller every year.
-
Nope but I never did
-
I read a few columns in the newspaper and I read books when I have the time to, but it's hard to do when there are so many other things that you need to keep track of in life.
-
not in my town. our newspaper sucks big time and costs a fortune. was reading it online for awhile but now they charge you to read it online !!!!
plus the delivery person could never get the paper on my porch,, it was always in my yard in a mud puddle or snow pile. Gave up and told them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine lol
-
I still read an actual newspaper...my son actually delivers our Towns paper on a daily basis. They've tried to do away with it, but there are a lot of people who don't have access to the internet plus it would leave those that print the paper jobless
-
I also like to read a physical paper, especially on Sunday.
hey, me too!!! (I gotta have the local sales papers and coupons too to $ave $$$)! ;D
-
I read the Sunday paper almost every week, although the other days I get my news online. Reading the Sunday paper with my coffee is kind of relaxing.
-
i do every morning, and when i go to sanibel
-
How many of your like to actually hold a newspaper and read it? everything is so computerized now, that it seems that newspapers, books etc are becoming extinct. I still like to hold a newspaper or book in my hand and read it although I have no problem with them being computerized. But it's putting editors and such out of work as physical newspaper sales are down.
Every Sunday morning with a cup of coffee at local breakfast diner.
-
Never. I have WSJ subscription and am so upset that they send the paper. I just want the online subscription.
-
I do not think people are reading newspaper, because it is better to go online to get the news.
-
Oh, heavens, no. I read it online only. The newspapers are going broke. Another sign of the times.
-
Ya, I still read tangible things like books, mags, newspapers....nothing replaces that touching the pages as you turn the pages, the feel of the texture of the book, the sounds it makes as you flip those pages & enjoy the smell of a new book after it's taken out of it's wrapper. Sadly, the newspaper we get now is like 5 pages long. I remember when esp. on sunday, the paper would be a bulk almost weighing about a pound!
-
I do still read the newspaper. I t just seems to be more natural for me.
-
Not too much anymore!!!
-
YES I DO READ THE NEWSPAPER EVERY CHANCE I GET, AIN'T NOTHING LIKE GOING THROUGH THE PAPER IN MORNING AND DRINKING A HOT CUP OF JOE
-
Yeah I still read the paper...more than online edition. I find it just easier and faster to skim through it and read only what interests me. And I mostly get the paper for the ads and coupons. :)
-
Newspaper no but Magazines yes. I only read Newspapers online now.
-
I gave up the newspaper years ago, before everyone starting their online versions. Reading the news just stopped being something I did.
Now, I visit a few news websites every day, just to keep up with what's going on. It's basically just skimming the headlines for important things.
-
I still read the real news paper, it's more natural for me, together with my fresh coffee ;D ;D ;D
-
I will sometimes look at a newspaper if someone happens to have one around. I will on the other hand never subscribe to it. I prefer getting my news
online.
-
I have never been a big newspaper person, but I still prefer to read physical books than digital ones.
-
The only thing I like the physical newspaper for is the coupons, other than that I rather just read my news online. Here is an article about the "The accelerating decline of newspapers."

I honestly don't remember the last time I read the newspaper. I get all of the information that I need right off of the internet and I don't have to pay anything extra for it. I see buying the paper now a days the same way I see having a home phone...just a waste of money.
