I love to play board games with the family - especially when we're with our grandchildren ages 16 and 12. One of my favorites is Balderdash. It can get very hilarious. What is the one that you enjoy the most? Always on the lookout for something new for the family to enjoy! :)

Monopoly only because that's the only game my family would play together when I was a kid. So its special.
-
i love the classics i have not played in years and my spouse doesn't care for them but i really miss them. my favorites include yahtee and monopoly

I'll have to check that one out! Another one that's REALLY fun is Apples to Apples. Always can count on lots of laughter.
My husband doesn't like board or card games but even he can get into that one - especially with the kids.
They also have a kids version with references they'll more readily get.
And Monopoly is the classic of classics. So much so that phrases from it have made their way into our vernacular - "get out of jail free". :)
-
Monopoly I have it on my cell phone and play it to pass the time waiting for appointments
-
puzzle games.
-
Pictionary is my favorite board game.
-
Monopoly is my favorite. We used to play that all the time when my kids were young. Haven't played that in years, think I have to go find it and pull it out to play again.
-
me and my family like to play scrabble --we can play for hours and we have a blast at it!! my silly son trys to make up words that dont exist but it is fun to play with him --we also play a lot of card games together
-
My favorite is also a classic; Clue. Our family used to play this a lot when I was growing up. Both my mother and myself loved mysteries (we'd watch shows like Murder She Wrote together) so it was always fun to play the detective. We actually got so good at it that we were recording what each person was guessing as well as who showed what card, since that would also give some clues... Usually people would use 1 or 2 items that they already knew (either as being involved with the murder, or something they had in their hand) so as to work out the 3rd piece of the puzzle. So if a person kept asking with the same item all the time, it was a good guess that the item was either in their hand or they already deduced it was a part of the murder. Thus you might even be able to determine what card was shown even if you were not the one asking the question (or maybe figure out an item involved with a murder if no one showed any cards). We also employed other strategies as well... Once I started off the game with a guess for which I had all 3 clues in my hand; since I had all of those clues, everyone passed revealing any cards. This got everyone thinking that one or more of those items were actually involved in the murder. So I actually got my Dad to lose when he made an accusation that involved one of those clues!

It's been so long since I played a board game I had to read everybody's answer, it's not monopoly, but I guess it would be Clue, "Ms. Scarlet in the library with the lead pipe..."
-
I have played Monopoly, The Game of Life, but my favorite is Scrabble.
-
monopoly and of course battleship
-
The Simpson's Monopoly Game, Magic, and Trivial pursuit are my faves.
-
sorry, candy land, monopoly, battle ship

Me and my husband play more card games than board games. I like Muchkin and Dominion. Me and my husband are also playtesting our own card game Karacterz that we have been working on for 5 years. Basically we build up a unique character using magic, physical or agility cards and then use a combat deck to attack the other players. The player with the least amount of damage is the winner. We have spent hours playing it so hopefully we can actually publish and sell it in the near future. We are very excited.

My family and I love to play board games. My husband and I are teaching our son to play and have fun with them. So far we have Connect Four, Scrabble Junior, and the Spongebob Squarepants edition of The Game of Life.

Growing up I loved monopoly, wheel of fortune, life, sorry, and parcheesi. I dont play any these days, but would if I had a group of friends who would play! I also liked card games a whole lot (spades and hearts).

I guess I am old but I chose monolpy, then risk or life.
-
Scrabble
Monopoly
Backgammon

I played quite a few board games as a kid, though at that time video games were replacing them. Some of my favorites would have to be monopoly, the game of life, pictionary , scrabble, clue and this game where you guess who wrote something that I forgot the name of.
-
I guess monopoly but it takes sooo long to play!! :cat:
-
scrabble

We've jsut started teaching the 11 year old how to play Monopoly because she didn't want to sit long enough to learn earlier. It had been candy land and shoots and ladders. But we are a very big card playing family. We have a progressive game that we love and you need at least 4 people to play and lately she has wanted to play with us along with her 18 year old sister.

Parcheesi and Chinese Checkers are my favorites from way back. I also really like Clue and Scrabble.

I loved to play Trivia Pursuit. It was so much fun to see just how much you didn't know compared to what you did know. Now there are so many variations of the game with new pieces and cards to specify a certain genre. Now that I am older and have hanged the crowd I hang with, I don't have anyone to play with. It is more fun with more players. Oh well! Maybe again I will find some people who like to play.

My son loves to play Trouble.
-
I don't have one specific "favorite" board game, but I do have a favorite "style" of game. Namely, those that require a bit more strategy and thought than your standard family game.
-
I was in Maine on vacation and got my daughter "Dogopoly". We played it recently and had lots of fun with it. We both have dogs and enjoyed the similarity to Monopoly, but in dog terms. Both our dogs were pictured on the board. Good game for dog lovers!
-
My grandkids LOVE apples 2 apples. Its fun for tweens/teens and adults as well. There is also an Apples 2 Apples Jr for the younger set.
-
My favorite when I was young was shoots and ladders and when I was older monopoly of course.

My step-mother-in law and I love the trivia question type games. We are out of town from each other since our family moved, so we send emails every few days. In them, we'll include a couple of trivia questions to each other to answer when sending emails back and forth. (Yep, the honesty system of not peeking for answers!) It's kind of neat and different to do that. Then when we see them periodically, we'll play in person.
-
chess is my favorite
havent played in a while though

I don't know if it's a board game but every once in a while, we take the boys over to grandma and grandpas house and they love to play "Wits and Wagers." I would have to say once you get a hang of it, it really becomes addictive. Another good one that I really love is scattergories(spelling). Time to test your thinking skills type of game!!!

I would hope that Chess qualifies as a board game, love it! My niece introduced our family to a great board game called Sequence and everyone went out and bought it for their own household. :peace:

Chess qualifies for sure! I love to play chess - used to play a lot but my husband doesn't play so not now.
I'll have to look up Sequence. Haven't heard of it but my kids/grands love board games and are always interested in something new.
-
Scrabble; hands down (so to speak).
Thanks for asking! :D

My favorite is Sorry. It gets pretty crazy.
-
I was always a big fan of monopoly and clue.
-
I like balderdash too. I also enjoy clue and I scrabble
-
I used to love Chinese Checkers and played it by the hour. My brother and I grew up on board games--I wish I could remember all the different games we played. I remember one called "Uncle Wiggly" that most people probably have never heard of. Our family often played together, which made for enjoyable and bonding group activities.
-
We don't have much time to play too many board games in the summer, but in the winter my husband and I play Scrabble. Every since our daughter was a baby, we would spend our evening playing. I feel like it is quality time for him and I without having to spend money going out all the time. We have tried a few other games, yahtzee, monopoy, ect. but Scrabble is always our favorite. A really good one to play with our whole family is Logo, we laugh and laugh at that one.
-
Monopoly, I think.
-
I've actually never played monopoly until recently. As a kid, though friends and cousins had the game, other than taking the board and messing around, I never actually sat down and played a real game. I recently picked up on it and play it every day now. Not the actual board, but on the computer. My wife keeps kicking my butt on the iPad but I don't mind. I like trying to figure out a strategy. It's only a matter of time before I return the favor to her ;D
-
monopoly i like building a empire :D
-
My son and I play frequent board games, mainly due to my trying to limit the amount of video game time he plays. We play Monopoly often and he is good at it. He kicked my rear end the other day in just over an hour...and neither of us got Boardwalk or Park Place.
We play checkers a lot and he is getting better. We also do some card games, Sorry, and he still loves Hungry, Hungry Hippos. Now I am trying to teach him about chess. That is a work in progress, but he's coming along. Except, his attempts to say, "Daddy, what is that over there?" Then I look and he takes one of my pieces. :)

As far as board games go, I have to say Trivial Pursuit, however we really play more card games than board games. I also love to play chess but can rarely find anyone who will sit and get into a chess match with me.
-
I love most board games but I would say my favorites are clue and monopoly.
-
I love checkers. My dad taught me to play as a little girl. I've been hooked ever since.
-
I won against my wife twice in monopoly! So, now I'm done haha. I actually had my fill and I'm over it. I just wanted to know I could do it.
-
Havent played board games like in forever, play alot on computer.

Pictionary is my favorite when we have a group of us together. The drawings are quick, but they convey the message to the team mates.

My favorite is Scrabble, but I like all board games the older ones. I also love card games all of them except bridge, I like doing puzzles a 500 piece I can do in about 5 hours. My husband is particular and doesn't play many games so I play on facebook to curve my desires. It is just the two of us now. So it makes it hard.
