Title: Music
Post by: kimberlymgiles on September 28, 2013, 04:15:58 pm
What happened to quality music. There use to be a time in which you could actually listen to a song without being totally disgusted or offended. The words to a song had meaning. It appears that music has taken a turn for the worst. The artist choose to limit themselves by trading in meaningful words for profanity, and gimmick filled hooks are now being played on radio stations across the nation. I'm starting to wonder if we will ever experience real music again. I will not be watching the BET Hip Hop awards this year.

I'm glad FC offers Radio Loyalty where you can choose the genre you like.  I listen to everything.  Some of the music coming out is good, but some of the songs coming out they could have kept and some is becoming redundant.

I like all kinds of music too.  If I'm not listening to the 80's music on RL, I usually have my TV on and turned to 805 (Directv) and listen to music there.  Sometimes I like to listen to 60's music too.

You still have some good songs today but I prefer the music from the 50's, 60's & 70's better.

That is what you are going to hear from the "Top 40" stuff that is played so much.  Try an adult alternative station, if you have access to one.  There is still lots of good music being made, you just have to look around a bit.

I'm just wondering how old you all are? (I'm 50)

Older people always complain about the music of today, just part of getting old I guess.

I love any kind of music as long as is not very loud and annoying to my ears.

I am so glad i live in a small community, out here in the west. We still more good songs then bad. I guess i am too old to listen to most crap they have now. Wonder why this younger generation are the way they are just try listening to this music and what they are saying. For the most part it is filth. I would not really want to be raising a child nowadays with it .

Yea I usually like hip hop a lot but I think that music has gotten a little on the offense side of late so I doubt I will watch them either.

They're more focused on making a trendy hit for the moment instead of quality songs with longevity. So many forgettable songs and "artists" these days.
