Have you had to start wearing computer glasses after working for years on
Your computer at work? ??? :bad: :glasses-nerdy:
-
I had to get glasses when I started using my computer and driving. There are so many cute styles they have so it'll be fun for you to try on different kinds to find your style.
-
I've worn glasses all my life but I just read an article recently that said that long periods of time on the computer is not good for your eyes and will do harm. Thus I can understand that if you use your computer a lot your eyes have been affected.
-
eyeglasses weaken the eyes; they don't strengthen them.
Jacob Liberman is an eye doctor who is revealing the truth about our eyes and the influence of light.
His books are available.

no have worn glasses for over 40 years.

Have worn glasses since i was 4 years old and am now 70. I am near sighted in one eye and farsighted in the other. One thing about with the bifocals and the lenses people want borrow my glasses as they can't see out of them heehee. But i can see out of them just fine.
-
I don't need computer glasses if the words are not tiny, I wear reading glasses and far away glasses.
-
I wear glasses to read. I used to could read the fine print without glasses; now I need them just to see them. I am an avid worker on the computer and yes, I need glasses to see some words.

Yes, after working on the computer for many years I noticed I was having problems with my eyes. My Ophthalmologist included I have computer eye strain and prescribed eye glasses. At that time I was told this was the only treatment offered for computer eye strain. :(
-
I'm nearsighted so I wear eyeglasses to be able to see where I'm going. I don't wear them specifically for computer use.
-
I have been wearing eye glasses ever since I was in the 3rd grade, now I am 32 and I actually never minded having to wear them 8)
-
I've worn glasses since junior high. I wore contacts for over 20 years but when I had to go to bifocals, I did not like the contacts as much. So now, I wear glasses when I drive or watch tv/movie. But I don't use or need them for the computer or reading.
-
I had to start wearing glasses because I am getting older lol my sight is getting bad well I can't see small print clearly. My son has astigmatism so he has to wear his glasses for the rest of his life. Most of my family wears glasses. :highfive:
-
I wear reading glasses for the last 5 years, but I used to wear distant glasses from the time I was 10 years old. but two years ago I had cataract surgery and it gave me perfect distant vision. and the best part it didn't even hurt.
-
I actually just stopped wearing my glasses in March. I'm near sighted and used to wear them all the time but I kind of got sick of wearing them. Now I find if I let my eyes adjust and I can make more things out than I thought. I do have to wear them when I drive though.
-
Only general glasses for seeing... Haven't gotten into contacts since I am used to wearing glasses
-
My glasses are for distance and to correct my astigmatism. No computer or reading specific glasses...yet. But I know I'm getting to the age where it might start slipping, but so far so good. :)
-
I have worn glasses since the 4th grade when I could not see the black board. (Yes it was a black board with chalk and erasers that hurt when you got hit by the hard side). But I worked in the Information Technology world for over 20 years and to be truthful any amount of stress to the eyes is not helpful but I developed a simple methoed to cope which was to limit myself to no more than fifty minutes looking at a screen than I got up and did something else for ten minutes than back to the screen.
-
I've worn glasses for years, but when I spend a long time at the computer, I notice the strain. It is important to let your eye doctor know if you use the computer a lot. They compensate for that in your RX.
-
I absolutely refuse to wear glasses. My vision is horrible and I am required to wear them while driving but if I have a choice I will not wear them period.
-
I have worn eye glasses for a number of years and I hate them. If I had the money I would get the eye surgery.
-
I wear contacts everyday and have worn them since I was about 14. I don't have any glasses right now but I want to get some at some point.
-
I started wearing glasses at 40, their are a pain in my side. I forget them all the time and I can't do the contact lenses. a recent eye exam tells me my eye condition has not changed. :)

I wear contacts but occasionally wear a pair of back up glasses.
-
I have been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade. I tried contacts but they irritate my eyes more and need to take them out daily and clean it. Too much of a hassle.

I have worn glasses all my life and I limit my times on the computer.
-
I wear glasses occassionally. There are a lot of choices. I actually really enjoy it, and think it's far more preferable than wearing contacts.
-
No, but I've worn glasses for over 20 years.
-
i have bifocals...but really only wear them when i'm doing the surveys with tiny print on them. otherwise i really can get along without them :glasses-nerdy:

I had always wanted glasses because I thought that they made people look so intelligent up until I really started to need them! Three years ago I started working full time on a computer screen and needed to get reading glasses. I have been told that they make me look debonair but I hate relying on them. I usually don't need them until I have worked 4 sixteen hour shifts in front of a computer screen. Even then I don't need them when I am driving or watching television. My vision comes back one hundred percent after I have escaped a computer for three days! I have just had four days off and practically see through concrete walls!
-
I have been wearing glasses since I was a kid, long before computers became so everyday.
-
I've been wearing glasses for the past two years. I wish I didn't need them as they are a nuisance. Seems like the lenses always needs cleaning. But I need them for all my reading.
-
I have been wearing glasses since I was 4. I hate them in the summer. The nose piece always rubs up against my skin. It hurts. I like contacts too but they always fall out. They just don't stay in.
-
I've had to wear glasses before I started work, but I do get eye fatigue every once in a while if I'm on the computer for long periods of time. Usually this is due to either bright colors and / or reading small print. There are a few things that I've learned to help reduce this, however...
- Try to break up your day. Even if you can't take an official break, just take a minute or two to look away from the computer screen. The best is to look at something in the distance.
- Turn down the resolution and DPI on your screen so that all of the images and print are larger.
- Turn down the brightness and contrast on your screen.
- If possible, change the colors on the screen or the Window that you are working on such that it uses darker colors. For example, I use a special text editor (TextPad) for my programming, and I'm able to change the colors so that it looks like the old "green screens" (black background with green text).
-
I wear them to see things further away.
-
I've worn glasses since I was little, but I've never had to get anything special to wear at my computer.
-
No not yet ... eye glasses will probably be a thing of the past 20 years from now when the eye laser surgery gets cheaper and they is a much larger samlple size and smaller chance of "bad" surgery
-
Yes, unfortunately, but I think it's due to old age.
-
I don't have computer glasses. I have wear contact lenses/glasses since junior high and it has been 20+ years, recently I do start to feel my vision is getting worse!! :(
-
I've worn glasses or contacts since I was a child. I like to take them off when working with the computer tho' and need them mainly for seeing things far away.
-
I didn't realize there were special glasses for computers? I do a lot more time on the computer, compared to when I was younger. 8)
-
I had to get glasses but my eyes seem to be getting worse with the glasses so I stopped wearing them.
-
I think a lot of us has. Some of us love the computer, and others use it for work, but yeah, we have to wear the glasses. There's lots to choose from.
-
nope! I've been wearing glasses since the 1st/2nd grade, though.
-
I have had to wear eye glasses since I was in the 3rd grade and could.nt read the chalkboard...lol now I am 32 and I have never mined wearing them
-
I had fabulous eyesight until I was about 53 then I started to notice that I couldn't read the paper anymore. Reading glasses from that point on.
-

-
worn glasses since I was a kid... still have to take them off to see fine print and there are for reading fine print :silly:
-
I have been wearing glasses for about 20 years now, I do not like them and I cannot wear contacts, my eyes have a disease and cannot stand the contacts, but have no $$ to pay for laser, so stuck with them :glasses-nerdy:
-
I have worn glasses for several years now, in fact I just got my new ones yesterday. I have to have no line progressive, I got the cheapest ones I could get and they still cost $162.00. No tint and only slight scratch resistance.
-
Yes, I had to start wearing glasses years ago when I worked on the computer. Mainly because of the glare. Now my eyes have gotten worse. I have one eye that is near-sighted and one eye that is far-sighted. One is 125 and the other is -125.
-
I have worn glasses since I was twelve, do not like them but they are a necessity for my quality of life. At least now, they are much more fashionable styles to select from.
-
I've been wearing eye glasses for around 5 years now. Still can't get use to them. I only wear them when I'm seeing blurry. Probably not a good thing.

Tell the eye doctor that you work on a computer all day and they can adjust for that
-
I had to get some glasses to help me to drive, see up close and see in the distance....I have progressive lenses and getting use to them can be a headache, and I do mean literally......
-
I've been wearing them since I was 18 (36 now.) My right eye is ok but my left eye is really near sighted. I like wearing glasses though and I love when I'm due for a new pair. My prescription hasn't changed much in the past few years so I keep my old frames if they still look good and I switch between them.
-
no I do not weare computer glasses. I weARE REGULAR GLASSES.
-
I wear glasses but I need them for distance,,,,,,,,,,,,, :glasses-nerdy:
