My hubby wanted a rabbit for a pet. I told him will have a rabbit but for livestock. He frowned, and said he never will eat a rabbit. If he tasted it he would change his mind. Do you have a recipe?
-
Sorry, I do not eat rabbits.
I never heard of rabbits being eaten as regular food.
-
I'm a vegetarian.
-
Sorry but no. The thought of eating a rabbit kinda sickens me some (because i like the little fluffballs)
-
Uh no. :-\. I had the opportunity this summer but I just couldnt do it. I know people use to eat rabbit all the time. I don't think it's wrong unless it's your kids pet lol but I just don't think I could eat a cute little bunny.
-
No I can't say that I ever have eaten rabbit, at least not knowingly.
-
Nope! Can't say that I've eaten rabbit before. I guess if I new what it was before hand I don't think I would eat it.
-
No, I have never eaten a rabbit. I have never even seen it on a menu, not that I would ever order it.
-
No -- I use to have a rabbit as a pet.
-
I have never eaten rabbit and the thought of eating rabbit just makes me sick. They are too cute and precious.
-
i love rabbit haven't had it in a long time. i grew up as a country girl and we would go and hunt our own pheasant, rabbits, and dear and would raise all of our livestock as food and not pets. miss it a lot but my husband is a big city boy so its been very hard trying to get him to leave the city and transition to the country. hers hoping that one day i get my big farm in the country again.
-
I've never eaten rabbit but some of my friends have. They say it's great!
-
I have not in a long time. We would fry it or add it to gumbo.
-
I've eaten rabbit and I didn't like it. I don't think it was cooked right.
-
I have a long time ago, but do not care for it, but my husband loves rabbit, it taste almost like chicken.
-
my grandma rised rabbits and chickens for eating, good ol days so yep good eating
-
When I was younger my grandma fixed rabbit and squirrel and a lot of other things. I grew up on a farm and we had deer meat and frogs legs. I don't eat it now, never really liked any of it but my brother still hunts and eats what he kills.
-
One of my more vivid memories is going up the street to my friend's house as a little girl, and they invited me to eat supper with them. We all sat at the supper table and ate fried rabbit. I remember liking it. I had never eaten it before, and haven't since!
-
No, I don't see them as food, they are more like pets to me!!
-
No I have never eaten rabbit.
-
why eat a rabbit?
There are plenty of others animals that can be eaten :( They're too cute
but no i've never eaten rabbit and i never plan to
-
I had a rabbit as a pet, so I would never eat one. But I was told that rabbit taste like chicken (and I don't want to find out).
-
I haven't tried rabbit
-
NO! I have never eaten rabbit and I don't plan on ever doing so. I have had rabbits for pets before, and even before I had them I still never considered eating one. :(
-
Many times and it's good meat. All the squeamish replies here remind me that when you go to any of the border towns in Mexico, have you ever seen a cat? If you're too squeamish to eat rabbit, you might want to pass by the taco wagons while you are down there.
-
I have never eaten rabbit and surely don't plan on it. But I do know plenty of people who eat it and it is pretty common some places.
-
NO have never eaten a rabbit. My dad and his brothers grew up on eating rabbits. My hubby has tried it but he says too many small bones and not worth it. But they do like it.

Yes, my mother cooked a rabbit one day and out of curiosity I ate some but didn't really like.
-
I have eaten rabbit on a few occasions. I agree rabbit like squirrel and other small creatures taste a little like chicken. I actually prefer the rabbit or squirrel over chicken. I don't recall if I have ever tried frog legs but I love chicken legs and I have heard that frog legs tastes like chicken as well.
-
Glad to say that I've never eaten rabbit. But I bet it taste like fried chicken.
-
Oh yes, i wish i could get some and have it for dinner, but it is so expansive to buy. Grandma raised them for sale when i was a kid and we were always eating rabbit. i was raised a country girl. We ate, deer, antalope, elk, rabbit, quail . I have also had frog legs and gator. I tried coon and squirrel and thought they were a little greasy. Just will not eat bugs and worms not that can turn your tummy.

My late grandmother had eaten rabbit, but I never have. It was the idea of it not being a very appetizing meal for me. Good luck to you and your husband. :bad: :bad: :bad: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow:

Im sure it taste good but I think because I view them as cut fluffy things I couldnt eat it.
-
Yes, I have eaten rabbit. Believe it or not, it is very good - especially the gravy!
-
When growing up on a farm, yes we often ate rabbit. It's a great taste.
-
Fry it like southern fried chicken. It is very tasty. Kind of ironic to your story, my husband tried to buy some rabbits to eat but the guy wouldn't sell them to him if he was going to eat them!
-
I have had rabbit and you cook it just like any other meat. You can stew it, roast it, BBQ it, Fry it just about any way you can eat a chicken. When I was growing up we would hunt them in the desert for their meat and skin them to sell their fur to the boot companies around El Paso for lining for their boots and gloves.
-
No, I have never eaten rabbit. I love rabbits. I would not care to eat rabbit.
-
I've had rabbit before as a kid and in my humble opinion they make better pets than a meal. :-X
-
I have eaten rabbit before, of course there is a story behind this. I went to Mexico to fix papers for my husband. Little that I know one day his mother made some good meat, it tasted like chicken. There at the table in front of everybody they told me it was rabbit. If I had known it was rabbit I wouldn't have tasted it or eaten it. I love those furry little creature. I haven't eaten rabbit since, even though it tasted good.
-
Sorry, I do not eat rabbits.
I never heard of rabbits being eaten as regular food.
I LOVE rabbit! It is one of my favorite meats. Years ago, I had a self reliant farm and one of the animals I raised for meat was rabbit. My favorite way to cook it is to slow roast it over an open fire and dab a little BBQ sauce on it after it is cooked. YUM YUM!!! If you are not the type to be a finicky eater; I suggest trying it. People say it taste like chicken but it doesn't. The meat has the texture of a chicken breast but it is way better than chicken!

I grew up with hunting just like another poster. We used to eat pheasant (now a delicacy in fancy restaurants), rabbit, and deer (which hubby and kids still hunt) and we make jerky, sausage, ring bologna, summer sausage, snack sticks, etc. The boys and hubby don't hunt pheasant or rabbit, but my foster son hunts everything, even squirrel.
Anyway, for rabbit, we just dipped it in egg and seasoned flour and fried it. I haven't had it in years, so I can't remember any seasonings.

Sorry, I do not eat rabbits.
I never heard of rabbits being eaten as regular food. oh hello no
