Post by: hollister237 on December 31, 2013, 11:01:52 am
Has anyone seen this show? What do you think about it and do any of you have any tips on saving money? Personally this is one of my favorite shows.

I have never seen it.  To save money don't buy anything you don't need.  lol

Ive never seen it but my friends have attempted to compare me to people from the show as a joke. They explained how people would have hundreds of dollars worth of stuff and use a bunch of coupons so they dont have to pay for anything.

that's the extreme couponer's show.  extreme cheapskates are the people who re-use things and recycle things to save money.  I only watched it one time - a man was reusing his dental floss.  he washed it then hung it up to dry :o
I think the coupon people are hoarders.  You have to watch it to believe it.  Also, around here they don't double & triple coupons.  I use coupons, but I don't often see them for the food we eat.

I am not a hoarder but I do use coupons.  And most places do not double or tripple coupons.  I have known of one store that would double them but never any that would tripple them.  I think people who get mad at others for using coupons are just jealous.

Reusing dental floss is just gross.  It's cheap.  And people who say they never buy anything they do not have a coupon for are liars.  There are some things they just don't make coupons for.

I haven't seen it but I can't say I am surprised it exist.  But I do think there is a fine line between being a cheapskate and financially responsible.

I only watched this program once. The episode I watched there was a man taking his wife out for their anniversary meal and he promised there would be no shenanigans with cheap skating. I was horrified that, at the end of the meal, he went round everybody else's table collecting their table scraps to take home for later. At one table, the clients were still there and he looked at the unfinished meal and asked "have you finished with that?". I could not believe anybody would go to those lengths to save money. I felt quite sad for them if I'm honest.

Yes i have seen a few episodes.  I like some of their ideas for re-using stuff. But I don't think I would ever go dumpster diving, take stuff out of the trash, or eat someone elses leftovers.  Just so unsanitary and dangerous!

I've watched it a couple of times.  I stopped watching it because the people on there started to do things that I felt were unsanitary, but I'm going to start back watching it this year because sometimes they actually have good tips.  Like the guy that uses dryer link to burn a fire in his home and on a clip I saw of the last one a woman set cookies in the windshield of her car to bake them in the sun, I actually thought that was pretty cool  :glasses-nerdy:
