I have lost " d3dx9_32.dll " and I don't know how it happened. I have tried several things but no luck. There are websites that charge to get it back but I am not willing to pay for something I have already had that just disappeared. Does anyone know how to get it back? Thanks is you can help me.

I'm sorry, I wish I could help you but I don't even know what that is. The worst things I've ever lost are... a final paper due for an online class, pictures of my children and documents of what my ex owes me.... all disappointing losses.

yes erased emails and wished I hadn't
-
Yeah I accidentally have deleted things that I shouldn't have and then I sit there and cant believe I just did that lol

Yes Yes Yes! I guess we all have experienced that one time or another!

I've lost some photos when a computer went bad, so now I try to be sure to have backups of them.

Guess Im lucky. I can't say I have lost anything on the computer. Yikes. Scary.
-
Yes pictures. I was so upset because they are irreplaceable!

I once corrupted the file structure on a server at work as I was trying to expand the main partition (the c: drive) to install some updates, and as a result almost lost all of the files on it. Luckily I was able to boot it up using a Linux "recovery" CD (it just boots a stand-alone version of Linux off of the CD and had several tools on it to help try to recover a lost system), and using various tools on that CD, was able to restore the file structure back to original (and thereby allowing me to boot the server normally).
Many people don't realize that if you "delete" a file (and even empty the recycle bin), you might be able to recover the deleted files.... When a file is "deleted", the data itself isn't changed; the operating system just changes the first character in the file name to tag it so that it knows that the space on the hard-drive that the file occupied is now available for use by some other file. Because of this, there are tools that can allow a person to recover the lost file (as long as the space hadn't been used by the computer yet). So if you do realize that you accidentally deleted an important document, the best thing to do would be to turn off your computer and bring it to a computer repair shop (do NOT hibernate it since that uses the hard-drive to store the current state of the computer before it turns it off, which could mean that the "deleted" file's space may get used when hibernating the system).
As for your current problem, check out this article: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/d3dx9_32dll-dll.htm (http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/d3dx9_32dll-dll.htm). It sounds like that dll is used by DirectX, so sometimes just updating DirectX can fix the issue for you. As the article mentions, do NOT try fixing it by downloading it. Often, hackers will use common files (like a DirectX dll library) to house some malware that gets run when the dll is ran (ie a Trojan Horse). If updating your DirectX version doesn't work, you may want to try contacting Microsoft, since they are the developers of DirectX...

my computer crashed last year. I lost everything I had saved. I will never be able to get them all back. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
-
I have lost a few documents but nothing that cant be replaced
-
I had made a file with all my addresses and I added address without handwriting in my address book. OHWA what a shame when my oldtyme computer crashed. :o you just don't know
-
I have accidentally deleted stuff that I should not have, and had no idea that they were lost for a long time, so I could never get them back. Also deleted couple of my kids photos inadvertently.
-
Every time that I have a computer that dies, I lose whatever was on it. But I don't keep anything on them that is not replaceable.
-
Yep I sure have when my computer crashed that was a bumber.
-
yah photos
-
Yes I lost pictures and files that I had on my computer...only I wish that I had them back up
-
so wish i could help you but afraid i'm technically challenged. i've deleted emails several times that I wish i hadnt, where i'd emptied the trash before i realized what i was doing. hate when that happens
-
Had a hard drive failure that made it impossible to get back the lost pictures I had in it worst day that year.
-
A lot of things, but I've lost a lot of old graphics I've made in the past. Still bummed out about that.
-
I have lost something on my computer on numerous occasions. Files, pictures and resumes have been misplaced on my computer.
-
:) Sure, I have lost things on my computer. You can search all your dll files by name. You will find the dll files under Windows programming. DLL stands for Dynamic Link Library. :)
-
Yes, a hard drive failure. I lost everything on that computer. :(
-
Do you have a backup that you can reload from? I've lost so many things on my computer that it isn't funny. I have a nice external hard drive unit to back my computer up but I do have to admit that I'm not backing up as often as I need to.

It's been several years now but I once lost all and I mean all my pics! priceless and more than meaningful. I paid over one hundred dollars to have this young computer geek get them back for me! Needless to say, lesson learned!
-
yes emails and stuff like that....

Have you tried setting your computer back to its original settings? I believe you go to my computer or your control panel. You need to set your computer to factory settings you might get it back that way.
