My husband and I plus our local daughters and their families went to visit our oldest daughter and her family this past weekend and we had a blast crabbing for blue crabs! If you've never been, you're really missing something (in my opinion) You tie a raw piece of chicken and a sinker onto a piece of line and throw it out into the water. A crab (or sometimes even 2 or 3) will start eating on it. You slowly pull the chicken in on the bottom and when you get it close enough someone else nets the crab and the chicken. There was 4 or 5 of us crabbing and we got 21 keepers. They were delicious too! My youngest daughter and I had a contest going to see who got the most and I beat her 7 to 6! lol We've been before and gotten quite a few more crabs than this time but its always fun even if you're only catching a couple of dozen. lol Just curious to know how many ppl on here have gone crabbing?

Being from the East Coast I love all seafood, especially blue crab. It is one of the things I miss about being back home. No other food compares with the taste of crab to me.

Crab is good love it to death but on a sad note poor spongebob will be in tears now lol

Have not been in years. Alas you cannot do it in the high dessert . I love crab though.

Absolutely, but I live in the Northwest so we go for Dungeness Crab. My favorite trips are to go fishing on a charter boat and they do most of the work to get some crab to take home with the fish.

It sounds like fun, but Missouri is land locked. I've tried crab, while it's good, I'm not a fan of working that hard for something I've paid for :)

I've heard of this for catching crawdads though but never tried it out. It could be fun.

I grew up and live in northwest Florida on the coast but have never gone crabbing that I can remember - maybe as a child. My relatives had deep sea fishing charter boats and would catch crabs but all I did was enjoy eating them!

I did. When we first get here in United State, (that around 17-18 years ago). We went to the beach and did the same thing what you did. Now I think no more for us to grab one now. I think we need to find the new beach. :)

Just curious as to what other people use to catch crab with back home we always used rotten chicken.

Interesting...nope never crabbed. I love seeing crabs at the beach. They are funny characters. But most of all i love to eat crab. I don't do it too often but it sure tastes good. Hope all is well with everyone...

I have never been out crabbing, but I do watch alot of the TV shows about crabbing! plus I love to eat crab...lol so I hope I get the chance 1 day

I never been went to crab but crab is one of my favorite seafoods. Yummy! I am now starving just talking about it.

I love crab and I miss the east coast because catching blue crabs was one of my favorite activities the other is fishing for flounder, snapper blues and eels. Ever since we moved I have missed doing it.

Never been, but I love to eat them, I do not like fishing so if it alone the same line I probably would not enjoy.

Yes, I enjoyed much everytime we went crabbing especially If i got one. We are using chicken legs.

Are you kidding? GOT ONE? I feel good if I get a few dozen and have been on trips where we get 50 or 60.

Crab is one of my fav's. I :heart: sea creatures and I even like to watch sea :monkey:s

I have never had crab or lobster but i would love to try it sometime, i do enjoy salmon and srhimp and most fish so i bet i would enjoy crab

I'm not a huge seafood fan, but I do like tuna, catfish, salmon and crab. I've never been crabbing, but sounds interesting. Someday I might try it, but I'd more prefer eating it than catching it. :)

I have never but it sounds like fun, not too sure about the raw chicken, kinda stinky after awhile *shudder*

I hhave not crab in years, but I love to eat crabs, they are so good. I am from Savannah and we always enjoy a big crab boil when our family get together.

I've never gone out hunting for crabs but I sure do like to eat them. We use to catch crawdads from the creek when I was young. I hated when I stepped on one without knowing, but you soon find out it's there!

Yes! Me and my family love crabbing! We got to a local inlet and use pieces of chicken and cages. I love pulling up the cages and seeing how many crabs there are! Then we bring em' home and eat em'. MMMMM!

I I love doesn't scrap it with you on the Oregon coast I go every now and when I can and get them fresh out of the ocean and then we have them dipped in butter which is so so so ever so so good! If you never had does describe you don't know what your mission they bleed beat the blue crabs and they even beat King crab in my opinion!
