What are some of the best scary movies you have seen? My top three are IT, pet semetary, and the shining!

I thought the Shining was scary. I thought Jaws and Alien were pretty scary also.

Exorcist, Poltergeist and Rosemary's Baby creeped me out.  In more recent times I would say the Insidious movies made me jump a bit too.

When I was little IT scared the cr*p out of me! Any more scary movies don't seem to scare me. Wish they would make one that did. It is kinda fun snuggling in the dark while watching a really good scary movie.

I don't watch scary movies - anymore.

I seen the shinning and Alien when I was around 9 years old! That wasn't probably a good idea on my mother's part. Anyway, the Blair Witch Project really scared me - and then I found out it wasn't real.

I don't like any ghost, crazed killer, demonic, or zombie types of movies or videos (Thriller video is a little freaky too).

Those are some awesome choices.  Stephen King is probably my very favorite author.  I can't say that horror movies (although they ARE my favorite type movies) scare me, but they certainly do hold my interest.  "IT" followed the book very well, and I enjoyed it.  I gotta say my favorites are "House on Haunted Hill" with Vincent Price (if you're a horror fan, you gotta love Vincent Price), and one that was a made-for-TV mini-series from 1999 called "Storm of the Century," which was also written by Stephen King.

I thought Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby were both scary, but not nearly as scary as the Wicked With of the West in the Wizard of Oz when I was a kid.

Oh I absolutely love scary movies. My favorites are the entire Nightmare On Elmstreet series, Dawn Of The Dead (zombies are a o thank you for me!) and if I had to choose a third I would have to pick Jeepers Creepers. I don't find the actual monster guy scary looking but the idea of him is scary especially that fact that he can smell your fear.

The Purge is by far the most scariest because it plays on the part of the human mind that scares most if not all what a human can do to another human when given options like they are given in that movie. If you've never seen the movie and wondering what im talking about look at a trailer or find the movie and watch

I'm a fan of scary movies, Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, all the classics.

The best scary in recent memory is The Conjuring!

The scariest movie I have watched was "The Wizard of Gore" in 1976.  That movie was so scary that I went home and had a nightmare that what happened to those people happened to me.  I awakened in a cold sweat.  I also liked "Please Don't Look in the Basement".  That was a weird movie.   :rainbow: :rose:

When I was growing up. There was this one that scared me when I was young. It is called " The thing that couldn't die." Black and white back then. Maybe they have it on you tube I am not sure. Nightmare on elm street was pretty scary too. And there was this old one probably back in the 80's where a priest hung himself in the beginning and then he terrorizes the neighborhood that when you look at his eyes people would start puking blood and all their guts out. I don't remember the name of the movie.

There was one about a disembodied hand many years ago and it may have been called "the Hand" but not sure about that. I was just a kid and was supposed to be in bed but I was looking through the key hole on my parents' door...lol.
