have you guys noticed that the youtube comment section is at all times either filled with trolls, spammers, or people making inappropriate bad-language filled comments? why is this? why can't youtube be a friendly place? put your reasons below!

Part of the reason may be that there is (usually) no screening for ages, so you get people from all parts of the age spectrum. As such, you get a lot of immature people making comments. Teenagers tend to be the worst for being trolls, making sarcastic comments, and just being general complaining jerks without much to back up what they say. This is actually the main reason why even though I'm an avid gamer, I can't stand MMO type of games... There again you get a lot of that selfish, snarky comments where it seems like they get a kick out of belittling others instead of being constructive.
Also I think that YouTube offers a forum to show off your abilities... Usually a person wouldn't go through the trouble of taping themselves doing something unless they felt that they actually had talent; esp. if they plan to show that video to the general public. So if someone does film themselves and it turns out that they aren't as good as they thought, the public tends to have more of an aggressive backlash. Sort of like trying to get back at the presenter for wasting their time. Like on American Idol where at the beginning they show people that are terrible singers; it is a way for the show to entertain viewers through ridicule at the cost of the person that may have never sang in public before and so doesn't realize their lack of ability.

It's not just youtube. I know not to even look at the comment section of articles about certain subjects anymore because people have gotten outrageous.

i've noticed that too. I made a comment on a news article and I was bombarded with hate replies. My comment was in no way sarcastic or hateful, yet the replies to me were calling me anything from a b****, liar, nutcase, lunatic, told to get off the site by others, my comment was not needed because I did not conform to the other commenters, and go jump in the lake (except it was more violent and full of cursing).
So, evidently, people really take freedom of speech to a higher place. These were not kids, either. They were adults. They should be ashamed, but they're proud of the way they bully people. So even though I liked the site, I crossed it off my list because I like to read comments to see how others think and feel. It's really sad what the people in this country have become.

The comment section on any article or youtube video is the lowest form of human expression on the planet.

Thats why texting has become so popular today.It shows that most dont enjoy being around others anymore.The love of the greater number on this earth has certainly cooled off as someone wise said long ago would happen!!

A) because they are all big and brave knowing that noone can do anything to them
2) They are brats that need dissaplined
3) Their parents spend no time with them
4) They feed off one another, what one doesnt think of another will, like a pack of wild dogs
