Do you wear glasses? If not, do you wear contacts, or are your eyes in good shape?

I wear glasses because I am farsighted although my eyes are healthy, medically speaking, my ophthalmologist says. It seems like the glasses make vision deteriorate quicker than if you don't wear glasses, but she says this is a myth - that
your eyes deteriorate on their own anyways and that glasses don't speed that process up.

I wear glasses and can't read without them...the other morning I was trying to thread a needle to stitch my pants.....could not see the hole in the needle for nothing, or I thought I was looking at it but the thread would not go into that hole for nothing at all....thank goodness I have some of the needles that are already threaded.....

i have worn glasses since i was five years old. i used to wear contacts when i was a teenager but because i dont blink often enough my eyes get very dry and hurt and ever since i got pink eye due to dirty contacts i havent worn them since.

Yep, I've worn glasses most of my life, tried contacts for a while...can't say I liked them much

I got my first pair of glasses on Halloween in 5th grade. My allergies are so bad that I don't think contacts would work so well with how often my eyes water and burn

I wear glasses for almost 6 years now before that contacts but so sensitive so i stop using it.

I have worn contact lenses since I was in high school but recently developed astigmatism, which makes vision with contact lenses less crisp and clear than with eyeglasses. I switch back and forth from glasses to contacts. When at work, most of the time I am at a computer; since I am nearsighted, I can handle pc tasks best without wearing either.

I had laser surgery some years ago and also cataract surgery so I just use over-the-counter glasses for reading but I'm probably going to have to get prescription glasses for driving one of these days.

I have worn glasses since I was four. First because I had a lazy eye and the doc. put a patch on my good eye hoping to clear it up. It did some, but they had a heck of a time trying to correct my eye sight. It wasn't until I was 14 that they figured out why. nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other. So started wearing bifocials when I was 14. Tried contacts but allergies are too bad and can't keep them in. But what the heck as along as I can see I don't care weather I wear glasses or not. One good thing about my glasses is no one wants to use them to read a menu.

I do. Contacts makes my eyes itch so I don't wear those.

My eyes are not in a very good shape. Not that bad either.
I had to get a prescription when I renewed my driver's license. So, now I have to wear glasses to drive.

I wear contacts have been wearing them since I been in college only wear glasses when my eyes get tired 8)

Yes, I wear glasses now and have been wearing them since I was 8 yrs. old although for a period I did wear contact lenses. The only reason I stopped wearing contact lenses was I became allergic to the material the lenses are made of!!

Contacts make my eyes too dry and I haven't worn my glasses regularly for about a year. Just curious how my eyes were without them because after a while they'd leave marks on my nose and really I just didn't want to have to wear them all the time. I now just wear them to drive or if I'm seeing a movie. Stuff like that.

Unfortunately I need glasses. I have usually wear contacts, but I ran out and I'm waiting for more money before we go to the eye doc...

I have to wear reading glasses now. As I have gotten older, I cant see close up. Actually makes no sense to me you think it would be the other way around but I see fine at a distance.

Yeah... And contacts...Can't even get LASIK my eyes are so bad

I "had" glasses since I was 8 but never really wore them until I was a teenager. I was told if I wore my glasses faithfully, I could probably do without them in a couple years. That turned out to be a big fib. I was near-sighted and had astigmatism in the one eye.
Now my eyesight has deteriorated to the point that lucky me has astigmatism in both eyes and cataracts in both eyes (2 years ago both these problems were only in one eye) and I'm still near-sighted. My vision is still blurry with new glasses so I don't know why I bother with the exams anymore. I can't tell a small i for a large I and I can't tell an rn from an m. Those are just 2 problems I have with reading. :(

No, no glasses or contacts for me, but my sister tells me I need glasses. lol I'm not surprised, given that both my parents wear glasses --- my dad mostly for reading, and my mom all the time, ever since she was a teenager. I'm hoping I can hold out and won't need them, especially 24/7 like my mom, but who knows down the line... :-\

I should but I don't really because my contacts always felt like they had trash in them and can't afford a pair of glasses.

I wear contact lenses and have since I was about 15 or 16 years old. Now that I'm a bit older (LOL), I still wear contacts but one of them is a bi-focal lense and the other is a regular lense - this way I can see for distance AND not have to wear a pair of OTC glasses so I can do "close" work (like reading small print or my computer screen).

:) I started wearing glasses in high school. I remember how dull and I kept getting headaches. I was prescribed glasses and a whole new world opened up for me. BTW, that was 50 years ago. :)

I wear my glasses only when necessary. I wear contacts daily in order to keep from running into things. My eyes are horrible. I may try lasik one day.

I have both contact lenses and glasses but most of the time I wear my glasses its easy to deal with.

I have reading glasses that I wear as soon as I have hit the sixty hour mark on hours worked which is usually by Thursday afternoon. It isn't a vanity thing...I just don't like to use them till I need them. I feel that my eyes grow a dependence on them and don't work as hard when they are of-kind of settle for blurry vision. I actually look better, so I am told by other people, with glasses on. I haven't gotten my eyes checked in about five years so I am almost sure that my eyes need to be housed in permanent glasses. The last three years have had me sitting in front of a computer for more than 15 hours a day.

i only need them when i am at the computer or reading or knitting..lol..driving or regular activities i dont need them...i know they can be a pain..but i have an astigmatism and can't wear contacts as they irritate my eyes..

I have worn glasses for a while. I wore contacts for a while even though I had severve allergies.
There have been inprovements in contacts since I have worn them.

I wear glasses too. Cannot wear contact lense because it make my eyes very itchy and dry up my eye very quickly. And it make me feel very uncomfortable at all at work.

I have been wearing glasses since I was six years old. I am farsighted. I also have a condition called Keratitus. It is not damaging to the eye, it is very annoying. Like having sand in your eye all the time. But I don't get many bouts of it.

I don't wear any glasses or contacts which i think is weird because both of my parents had pretty bad eye sight and have always needed glasses. ???

I can't see at times- my vision gets blurry so my eyes aren't in the best shape but i haven't been to an eye doctor recently but i'm pretty sure i might need glasses.

YES i DO WEAR eyeglasses, I have been wearing them since I was in the 3rd grade because I was not able to see the chalkboard..lol

I wore glasses most of my life; my world was a blur without them. About nine years ago, I had Lasik surgery done and have enjoyed life without glasses since then. It was the best investment I have ever made in my life! When I was being pre-screened for the procedures, I was told by one of the technicians that they especially enjoyed doing this surgery on people like me with such strong prescriptions because of how much we appreciate the improvement done. And they were so right! It has felt like a true miracle for me, especially because it did not affect my near-sightedness. I do not need to wear reading glasses either. :) :) :)

Yes, I wear glasses, can't see without em.. trifocals and I have a special prism in one lens. also I have glaucoma. and get ocular migraines from time to time.

I wear both ... used to mostly wear my contact until my retina and cataract surgery on my left eye .. now because my tear duct in my left eye doesn't work as well I am wearing my glasses more as I see better with them

I have horrible vision, so yes I wear glasses. Tried contacts in middle school, but they made my eyes hurt so haven't tried them since. I'm considering doing the corrective surgery, but got to save up first.

I actually not only wear glasses but wear separate pairs for distance and reading. I tried bifocals but couldn't handle those so if I drive I wear distance glasses and if I am working on the computer or reading I wear what they call "office" glasses.

I do wear glasses. I have had to wear some type of corrective lens since I was in about the 3rd grade. I was wearing contact lens and loved them, but as I got older, I was having to wear reading glasses with the contacts. I finally just gave up and started back wearing glasses.

No, I do not wear glasses or contacts. I used to wear glasses back in middle school. They were mostly for reading, though.

I have worn corrective lenses since 5th Grade. I started with glasses. In high school I got hard contact lenses.
I wore contacts through the first two pregnancies and after that contacts didn't seem to work as well anymore.
So I wear glasses.

I have prescription glasses but I'm too lazy to wear them. I do wear reading glasses though. I usually stock up when I find cheap reading glasses so I always have a pair within easy reach. I'm blind to the written word without them.

Not yet - I went to the eye Dr several weeks ago and was written a prescription. I haven't worn glasses since 5th grade. I'm just waiting for them to come in and I'll start wearing them. They say that your eye sight can change during pregnancy. At the time of the exam I was pregnant... now I'm not so I may not even notice much of a difference with the lenses once I get them.

I do wear glasses. In the past I work contacts. I want Lasik surgery because I am fed up with glasses.

I do not wear glasses as well as contacts. My eyes have been pretty sharp so far. Although at night my wife says that I need to stay on the road she thinks that I can't see the streets clearly. I told her every time I have my eyes checked they are always passing with that chart test.

I do wear glasses especially when I am driving. I can't drive without wearing them. And also when I'm watching TV.

I'm supposed to wear glasses, but I don't and then I end up regretting it because I can't see things that are far and I end up saying hi to strangers who I think I know. :/ haha

I had lasix done abut 15 years ago. it was great not to have to wear glasses. Then I turned 50 and I started to realize that I needed reading glasses lol Not much you can do about that. Eyes are still go for long distance tho :)

I don't wear glasses, but I do need them. Especially when driving at night. I took my 17 year old daughter to the eye doctor and got her glasses earlier this year. Now it is time for me to go myself.

Bad eyes....used to wear contacts all the time, but I ran out of them and don't have the $$ now to get an appointment and buy more. So....glasses right now.
