My heart dropped into my stomach. He was a part of my childhood, I grew up watching Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin, Flubber. Not only could he do comedy but he could do dramatic roles as well. So sad that he felt this was the only way out.

I am truly saddened by the news of the death of Robin Williams. He was a talented comedy genius. I will never forget watching him do a stand-up comedy show where he asked the members of the audience to give him one word and he would perform  spontaneously based on that one word. He did several skits in this fashion and it was pure genius! He will be greatly missed.  :(

Why would you not believe it?  I have heard a lot of people saying they thought it was a joke.  I don't get that?  Why would you think it was a joke? I received a text last night from a local news station.  Never entered my mind that it was a joke.  Anyway.

You never know what is going on inside of a person's mind.  People are mean and cruel.  I know that esp online in discussion boards (even on here lol) things can get heated and people tend to say things that they would not say in person.  I have read more than one comment and even had it said to me "go kill yourself" because someone does not agree with an opinion being stated.  We live in a tough world and things are getting worse every day and in this world they are not going to get any better.

He did such great stand-up! But his improve was his greatest talent. He said at one time that he learned from Jonathan Winters.  I think he was better.  He could never leave a talk show without having everyone cracking up from his impressions.  Robin will never be rerplaced by anyone better. Love him and will deeply miss his talent.

I was too saddened to hear of his death, esp. with the circumstances about it. He was one of my all-time favorite actors. Although he was originally just a comedian, many of his movies also had some heart-touching aspect to it. Several of the movies that I cried while watching (yes, I'm man enough to admit it) were the movies he was in -- Dead Poets Society was one of the first that I started bawling like a baby. "O Captain my captain" we will miss you very much!

Yesterday I was so shocked to hear that they thought he committed suicide. Now this afternoon, the coroner stated he died from hanging and they also found a pocket knife with what looked like blood on it laying on the floor with superficial cuts on his wrists. This is even more shocking. It's really odd how they found him, sitting in a chair with a belt around his neck?

If you look closely at his eyes, sometimes he looked very happy and carefree but some of the photos they showed yesterday, his eyes looked so sad.

He made so many people laugh, was so giving of himself, but it's funny that no one could help him or even knew how 'lonely' he really felt. I just hope he finds peace.

I'm old enough to remember Robin Williams playing a part in Mork & Mindy.  His humor was stunningly outrageous and he instantly caught my attention.  The only other comedian who is as spontaneously funny might be Jim Carey.

I noticed with time that his humor became more dark & twisted.  Maybe, that was because he was dealing with addiction.  He'll always have a place in my heart as one of my favorite comedians.

R.I.P. Robin.

My cousin knew last night he had hanged himself.  Don't know how she knew because I still have not seen that info on an official news site.  You never know what is going on inside of a person.  No matter how happy they seem on the outside.  I have known people that you never would know there was anything wrong and they killed themselves and to the average person who knew them it was a complete shock.

And sadly, I don't think it should be.  Not for people who are close to the ones who do this.  There are signs.  I just think people are so involved with themselves that they don't take the time to really listen to others.  It is not always like that but I think sometimes it is.  I know a guy who shot himself a couple of years ago on Christmas Eve.  Was a total complete shock to the family and his friends.  But then when people started talking several said HE had told them he was depressed.

This is true.  But it doesn't seem to stop people from being mean to each other.  I remember when I was in high school a girl broke up with a guy.  He told everyone he was going to kill himself.  And the girl said "go ahead" and laughed it off.  And sadly Saturday night he done exactly what he told everyone he was going to do.  I don't blame the girl and he was not in the wrong but it's just that he told several people he was going to kill himself and no one really took him seriously or thought anything about it.

Whose humor became dark and twisted?  Robin?  Or Jim Carey?  Jim Carey has always pretty much been pretty nasty with his humor.  I had not noticed anything bad with Robin Williams but I never saw a comedy show of his.  Just shows he played in.  Most comedians these days are vulgar and nasty with their jokes. But it is because that is what sells.  That is what the majority of people want to hear.

I did hear where he done a lot of work and shows for soldiers who were over seas. I thought that was pretty cool.

I read it, I even heard it come out of my own mouth and today I read that he was found hanged by his belt, yet I just can't seem to process it.  I just watched "Hook" again.  He was so vital and uplifting.  I read that he was in talks for a sequel of Mrs Doubtfire and a third Night at the Museum is in post-production, along with a couple other films.  It's already up on IMDb.  There's a memorial up on Find-a-Grave.  Here's the link:  http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Williams&GSfn=Robin&GSbyrel=all&GSdy=2014&GSdyrel=in&GSob=n&GRid=134211597&df=all&   :rose::(

I will probably remember him most for Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Patch Adams.

It is often true that people who bring joy to others are often themselves struggling against darkness/depression.  Everybody I know who is an "encourager" feels discouraged a lot of the time.  Where are strongest gifting lies, that is where we will be under the greatest attack.

If you know anyone with a gift for bringing joy to others, take it upon yourself to be the one that brings joy to them. You don't have to ask if they need it, ten to one they do.

You know, it's funny, I just saw a news brief, did not follow the link, but it said after public out cry the graphic details of his death will be released.  Really!?!  It's none of no one's business other that the immediate family.  His daughter was attacked online and even had photo shopped pics of her father's supposed dead body posted on her twitter account.  I don't get people at all.  I know a lot of fans are like oh wow I can't believe he died.  But his family are hurting and grieving and people in this country who demand details of his death need to be took out and shot and have that posted all over the internet.  Changes the tune when it hits closer to home.  People think they have a right to know all the details until it is their family then they scream mind your own.  Where are Robin's rights?  His medical info should be protected and not released to anyone other than his wife and or kids.

I was shocked and in disbelief about his passing.  He was wonderfully talented.  Like you, I loved his comedy. He will certainly be missed by so many.

I could really see his depression  :( on his movie Mrs. Doubtfire.

If you look back at his earlier movies you can see his face expression happier.

He will be missed. Don't we all wish we could have done something? Don't know, take him as a hostage to a lost island or something, just to save him from death  :'( away from debts, nothing to worry about.

I was really shocked about his passing. My heart goes out to his family. I haven't really followed his more current projects, but I really did like him in a number of his movies, including Patch Adams, Jumanji and Mrs Doubtfire.

Robin Williams died of apparent suicide.  He was sixty three years old.  This is such a tragedy.  He will be tremendously missed.
How will you remember Robin Williams?
I will remember him as one of the best comedy and actor of all times.  He was funny and enjoyed making others laugh, it just so hard to believe that his was depressed because he always looked happy.  I keep on thinking of the Movie Fluber that he played in that movie was very funny and entertaining.

It is very sad, he was a good man and one of the few that I really enjoyed on the funny department, a true natural actor.   May his family be at peace and hopefully this would bring the stigma of mental health out of the closet, this issue needs to talk as much as aids

Inbelievable to say the least! He was one of the most intelligent, kind-hearted, passionate, hard working actors out there. It seems like the smarter you are the harder it is for you to accept yourself.  A good friend with an IQ over one hundred and forty two told me that he drank more and did drugs so that he could bring himself down to the level of the common man. He had mastered patience with those who weren't as gifted as he was and was very kind hearted and free with compliments.  He, sadly enough, also commited suicide and was severely depressed. The truly unfortunate thing is the example this sets. So many people see these wonderful people taking their lives and they wonder what they have to live for.
