At what age did you have your first boyfriend/girlfriend? I was 12 going on 13 when I had my first boyfriend. I think I just enjoyed him walking me home. My neighbor's daughter told me she has a boyfriend and she is only 10. It seems too young to me.

10 is too young but then again what we think of as a boyfriend isn't necessarily the same definition in the mind of a 10 year old child.
It's also not the term boyfriend, but the actions that dictate whether one is doing the things boyfriends and girlfriends do together i.e. holding hands, spending time together doing activities, kissing etc... :kiss:
If this child is doing these activities with her boyfriend I would be more concerned than her just labeling some boy as her boyfriend.

I guess it is all up to the people involved. I remember being in elementary school and kids had boyfriends and girlfriends. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I think I was 13 when I started dating. I broke up with her because she was a yankee fan. just kidding :thumbsup: :)

I was 14. My kids are not allowed a boyfriend/girlfriend until age 14.

I think that the longer a child can remain a child the better. They can have a boy that is a friend with out him being a boyfriend. Hopefully the 10 year old sees the boy as a friend.
