How do you stay positive even though you have health problems? How do you keep from getting depressed about it? I am struggling right now.

You have to look at each day as a gift. You are still here for a reason. We may not understand what that is, but we are still here non the less. Stay in faith and believe that your purpose is not over.

Trying to stay positive 24/7 can be draining....if you feel depressed every once in a while it's life, even when I'm depressed I still try hard to be kind to others, I still treat people the way I wanna be treated....we can't feel the same all the time...we not robots.....I hope you feel better soon.....I take it one day at a time.....Feel Better.....

Keep your mind stayed on Jesus, because if you don't you will give up. My sister is dealing with some major health problems and before one thing can get better something else happen so I tell her to don't give up, but she states she is tired and I know she is, but keep calling on the name of Jesus.

It can be very hard really. Even feeling the pressure from other people to "stay positive" can be stressful. I think finding small ways to quiet your mind can be helpful though, like walking, meditation, or reading. Sometimes listening to music you enjoy can be helpful too.

I absolutely agree with the previous writer who suggested meditation or a time of reflection. Sometimes we busy ourselves with what we want to accomplish in life or achieve what is expected of us. When really, we should reflect on what we are already grateful for. Let me give you an example. My kids are 8 and 10, obviously I love them dearly and can think of nothing more marvelous than seeing them grow up to become confident, independent individuals who are themselves happy with life. Then I reflect on a lady I once knew who died of breast cancer at 28 years of age. She had a baby one year prior and only got to see his first birthday. How lucky am I to get to see my two sons to the ages of 8 and 10, to appreciate their own little personalities and to see a hint or suggestion of what they will ultimately become. Again, as per your previous writer, keep you eyes on Jesus, he will bring you comfort and rest.

I am in chronic pain daily and have trouble getting around but I remind myself of how blessed I am to be alive and able to walk at all. I pray a lot and I look for things to get better. I believe in healing and I continue to ask to be healed and I try my best to focus on the positives in my life and I believe each day is a gift :present: . I hope things get better for you.

For me, I try to busy myself with other things. I also find laughter to be healing, so find a video or program that makes you laugh. That might take your mind off of your health problems.

The advice of telling yourself or others telling you that other people are worse off doesn't for me anymore. I need to be surrounded by other positive and encouraging people to help keep me uplifted. Luckily I do have to a degree such an outlet.

I know it can be hard. My Mom has had a lot of health problems the last few years and right now she is in the nursing home. It can be very depressing because you don't know what the future holds. You can only hope for the best but some days it is very hard to stay positive.

Since I have had some times when I have had health issues that have greatly limited what I can do I know how hard it is to stay positive but I usually try to think of all the people worse off than I am (there's always someone that is far worse) and then try to keep myself as busy as possible.
-
That's so true, someone somewhere else will always be having a harder time. I guess that's how I see things too.

I can hardly stay positive. i am in such a state of fear about my living situation right now.. i call different call in talk shows on blog talk to talk to someone when i am in a terrible state. I am living rather rural cause no one wants to rent to me.. plus i have 2 cats and am on section 8 housing. I cannot find a place to rent because some black marks on my rental history so staying positive is really an incredible challenge right now.

I find that a good dose of daily Bible reading helps. Though it may not take away problems, it truly helps us to cope with whatever situation we may be dealing with.
Another thing that helps me is to spend quality and quantity time with my beloved pets. They always bring me so much joy.

Keep trying...Do not give up!
-
Try to think positive or doing something distracted from it, if not work sometimes take antidepressant drug may help

Like other have said, trying to stay positive helps. I like to do things that will help take my mind off whatever I am dealing or struggling with. I know that may only help for a little while, but it does help. I think about the good things that are in my life and say my prayers every night.

Try not to dwell on the problems and look forward to something. Make a goal for your self each day and keep your self busy and maybe you will start having positive thoughts especially when you complete you goals for the day. Don't make the goals so high that you know you won't be able to complete make it simple and take your time.
-
Focus on tomorrow and forget about yesterday and today. Your dreams and aspirations are within reach! Don't ever give up! The only person who you cheat is yourself.
-
Every day I remind myself how I'm still here for a reason. A good reason! And that is what keeps me going.
-
I have heart problems an I stay positive by praying an surrounding myself with positive people an helping others

I am sorry to hear about your health problems...hope that you are able to overcome them soon. I am chained to a desk for at least sixteen hours a day and seven days a week and it is tough for me to break away and get circulation to my legs much less get to the gym which is what I really need. During busy season, which is generally fifty weeks a year I am unable to take good care of my physical health. What keeps me positive is the end result of my money making which is two stellar children that continually amaze me with glowing reports of excellence in athletic and intellectual endeavors. I get to walk the dogs once a day and love seeing the outside world. I get to drive to/from work and am able to feel the breeze in my hair. May not sound like much but it keeps me pretty darn positive. Good luck with your health!

By keeping focused on the main goal, which is to be happy. Isolate yourself from negative people, places, and things. Also, visuals and affirmations tend to help. Create a positive routine to get your mornings started to. Do the things you like to do and be around people you know love you.
-
I create and review positive affirmations such as:
I have a beautiful life and every day, in every way, my life gets better and better and better.
Then I spend time writing in a gratitude journal.
Also, I'm in the menopause phase of my life so if I begin to feel depressed I take a mega dose of vitamin E, which lifts me, emotionally.
