we do but it seems every year the kids just don't celebrate it any more i love seeing the babies and younger kids they are so excited when they get the candy

There are only a couple of kids in my neighborhood and I don't really see them on halloween. They might go to a bigger neighborhood to get more candy...don't know.

I never had visitors.I lived in the country. I got to eat the candy and watch my Shining. This year will be different because I will be spending it elsewhere. Still plan to eat candy though.

no, since i live in an apartment building, not many kids stop by to trick or treat

We now live in a Gated Retirement Community, so there are no children here to give candy to. I do miss doing that and seeing all the cute costumes.

I would if we got any truck or treaters around here. Most people go into town though to t&t.

Yes, I do. And I decorate for Halloween and dress up in a costume of some sort.

I got use to years ago but got delusionalized@the practice because 1. Kids don't even know basic history of Halloween; come on why do we dress up on hallow's eve? 2. Kids just come to the door not even wearing a costume!Not giving out hard earned FC monies to kids expecting free candies & don't even wear a Halloween costume on Halloween?!!!!! 3. Kids' are just rude & greedy. Like take piece of candy please, translates to 2 handfull of candies! 4. I can't stand other people's kids!

No ...live on a busy road and not too many people come attempt it with little kids.

I don't give out halloween candy anymore. I think less and less kids are going from house to house and they are just doing things at schools, which is safer.

no...not really...where I live isn't really conducive to trick or treating...especially considering it's an apartment complex that's locked...

I live in a rural area and have never had a lot of trick or treaters but the last few years we don't get any so I've stopped buying candy.

Yes We had 88 trick or treaters last year. Candy is expensive so I try and get the big bags when they are on sale during Sept. and Oct. and stock up.

We don't we live in the country with no neighbors. I'll just bring my kid in downtown to do treat and tricking during halloween.

No, we live in the semi country. Only 6 houses on our street, no sidewalks, so no kids ever come.

Not as often as I used to, because of the weather and low traffic in my neighborhood. I still celebrate Halloween though. I buy my nieces candy...and some for myself too.

I hand out candy on Halloween. I get two big bags of assorted chocolates from Sam's Club or Costco to make sure I have plenty, just in case.
We don't get a lot of trick or treaters - which is one of the reasons I couldn't care less about what age they are.
If Halloween falls on Friday or Saturday, the amount of trick or treaters increases.
I figure most children go to community events, & parks to do their Halloween celebrating these days.

I'm way off the road in a rural area so no kids come here. I used to when I lived in a subdivision.

Not me. Since I live in an area where I do not see very many kids coming for candy. So there would no point in me giving it out.

We only get one or two trick or treaters so I try to have a little on hand. But mostly i end up eating it myself.

In the 16 years we have lived in our present house, we have had not one trick or treater. We live in a rural area with very few houses nearby.

I give out candy to trick or treaters out, only if I am home.. I only give out candy to people who have costumes not people looking for free candy and such (you at least have to have the time and effort to put on a costume). Every Halloween my apartment neighbors don't open the door for anyone, so it's usually me who gives candy out... Sometimes I feel really bad when I have night classes at Halloween day

I live in the country and have lived there over 30 years and I've never had a trick or treater. It would be fun seeing the kids in their costumes but at least I don't have to spend any money on candy.

Last year was the first time in 10 years we gave out candy. We used to live on the top floor of a duplex on a busy street and never got any kids. Now we live in a neighborhood and we had a ton last year. So we've stocked up this year.

We don't hand out candy. I am out with my daughter trick-or-treating so there isn't anyone to give it out. My parents usually have less than a half dozen kids every year, but they still leave the light on and hand it out.

I do if any kids comes around, but I am usually at church and my husband just won't answer the door.

No, I stopped giving out Halloween candy a number of years ago. Since there are so many strange people in the world and unfortunately Halloween seems to be a time when they tend to come out of the wood works. :(

I would love to give out halloween candy but I live way out in the country with only about two neighbors for five miles.

Yes we give out candy every year, and my kids go trick or treating! Last year we purchased this massive spider which is about 3 feet wide and when you make a noise or walk past, it jumps up and makes your heart miss a beat. The only sad thing is we decided to switch it off last year because it kept scaring the little kids and we felt bad.

I would love to give out candy and also love to see especially the younger kids excitement but I live in a rural area and no one comes by here. Also several years ago our downtown area shops started sitting out and giving candy so mostly people take their kids there anyway. You see fewer and fewer out in the neighborhoods anymore.

Sorry, no trick or treating at this address. But we will support you on any other day by contributing towards your candies or cookies fundraiser.

I get a few here and there since I moved to a suburb a few years back. Two years I was out at practice and wasn't home, the others, probably got 10-20 kids that stopped by. I keep some candy on hand just in case. Then the leftovers are saved for Christmas cookie baking a few weeks later.

Periodically my family gives out candy. There are a bit more little kids nowadays in the neighborhood, so we've been consistent the past few years. For a period of time, we were getting an influx of a bit older kids and we lost motivation to continue for this reason.

not usually..i usually go with my granddaughters,but i am gonna but a little candy for a couple of kids that live in front of us now..they want to show me their costumes..they are 3 and 5..so i will have some candy for them

I normally do but I won't this year; too busy. I will be making a few bags for our neighbour's kids across the street though since we've become close with the family.

We do but the numbers are down. We used to have tons of kids (200+) but now we are lucky if we get 50.

we dont because we are not home. we take our children trick or treating so no one is home to hand out when the kids get to old to go then we will.

Not really. I live in apartment and I hardly seen any kids at all. So I will not be giving out candy at all in halloween. I am going to be working.

I'm rarely home, and our neighborhood doesn't have a lot of children any more. So, I'll be in this year, porch light off, trying to stay warm.

This will be my first year passing out candy.
The last few years I've either taken my young sister-in-law trick-or-treating, or I've gone out to celebrate in town.
Tonight though I'll be staying at home in costume having a Supernatural marathon and passing out candy.

We would have this year, I bought candy and even go off work early enough but there weren't really many trick or treaters on my street. Guess I am gonna be eating a lot of candy.

I live out in the country...most people have 5 acres and I have one. Ive never had a trick or treater...and unfortunately never will. But there are other benefits...

I dont, I live in a small town 4000 people, and live more in the country, so the kids dont come out here

We bought a few bags of candy to hand out to the trick or treaters in our neighborhood, but no one came. It is probably because we live in an apartment complex. On the contrary, I was at my sister's house the day before when their neighborhood had trick or treating and we gave out an entire box (those office boxes that hold reamed paper) of candy. That was fun!

Yes, but we do not have very many children in our neighborhood. Out of 20-25 houses we have about 4-5 kids. We live in an older generation neighborhood. Our kids have to go to another neighborhood for them to go trick or treating.

We decided this year not to give away candy, because last year we only had 2 kids came to our house,most of our neighborhood is not giving away candy, so kids stop coming. So we went for tricked or treat with our daughter in different place, it was fun.

In my old house yes but now not anymore kids don't walk by my neighborhood.

Halloween has never been a favorite Holiday, so no I never give out candy. When my child was younger there was a hunted house at their school plus, where as the parents donated and the teachers purchased all that was needed. The kids dressed up and had a lot of fun and at the end of the evening they given a bag of candies etc. I would never allow my child to go trick or treating with all the perverts putting foreign objects in the candy etc.

I was prepared this year for trick or treat, but I didn't have very many to come by. Last year I had more, but also had some teenagers to come by. I think that after a certain age you should not go to people's house expecting them to give you candy.

Year before last was my last year giving out candy. Well, actually, I wasn't giving out hardly any candy and I was sick of buying it, eating it myself, and waiting around for kids that never came. Too bad people had to spoil this holiday and kids now will never know how Halloween used to be.

I am done with Halloween after last week! Kids have NO manners and I gave out candy to at least 200 kids! Some were old enough to be my sister or brother! Crowded my small steps to the front of my door where I couldn't even open the door all the way and kids were stepping on my planters and broke a few. I'm done with this day! My 8 yr old son didn't even want to go trick or treating, so I'm calling it wraps and will either be out or I won't answer my door to the rudeness and ungratefulness of all the kids that weren't even from my area! They came from other towns! Halloweenie is NOT for me anymore, just call me a meanie! LOL! This year just broke my spirit of the Holiday. Sorry! :-\

I would give out halloween candy if kids trick or treated my house, but I live on a dead end far of the road so no kids ever come

I really did not see or hear any kids knocking on my door for candy this year...this must be a dying thing....

These days it is not safe to knock on doors just for candy.
