I think I spent wayyy to much this holiday season lol oops... Im not in debt and nothing was put on a credit card, but I spent more than i thought I would lol
Anyone just figure out that they did this too?
-
I always over do it for Christmas.
-
We have an amount we aim at for the Maximum we spend on each one on our list which I strive to stick very close to.
This year, we just gained a little grandson, so it it VERY tempting to get him and the parents more....but I am sticking to my resolve to stop right where I am at.
-
I always go over board too! Don't feel so bad! LOL!! I say that you can't take the money with you when your dead, so spend it like you have it and the bills are always going to be there so who cares! Tis the season to be Merry and giving! God bless! :)
-
I over did it a bit but my mom and I are moving into a new place and we needed stuff.
-
Its Christmas time..I am already over 500$ of my monthly budget to spent
-
haha glad its not just me! i didnt really have a budget, i just told myself to not dip into our savings and nothing on a credit card.. i accomplished that part! Maybe next year its time for an actual budget haha
-
Since my hubby died and we lost his income as well - we haven't had any trouble staying within a budget for anything including Christmas. Wish I had started this years ago - but for those who aren't over-doing on credit it isn't a problem. Don't want to be a bah humbug though lol so all enjoy regardless. :present:

I spent way too much on holiday greeting cards this year. The cards themselves weren't so bad, but when I got to the P.O. to mail them, I found out that some of them cost $1.19 each to send! That is wayyyyyyy too much for postage. The cards were fancy pop-up cards that didn't meet postal regulations so I had to pay up to send them.
:sad1:

Thankfully, I haven't had to do hardly any shopping except for food, so I've saved money. Too much hustle and bustle and I'm glad I didn't have to get caught up in it this year.
-
I wished having enough to spend to much was a problem I had.
-
I have had a budget all year long for what I am spending on the holidays. I so can not afford to go over at anytime. Next year is going to be a better year. Things are in for a good change and I am happy about that.
-
I dont really have a budget and don't really have anyone to buy Christmas gifts for but I just spent mone o gifts cards to help less fortunate people at my church
-
Im sure we all do, you go with a list, but there are bits and pieces that you see and think oh I want that too! I tend to buy everything intended, but then once I see it, think its not enough and buy more :(
-
I agree, it's a good thing for Fusioncash to help with extra income...especially around the holidays!
-
Actually the opposite happened to me I think I spent less. Not sure how.
-
I've been saying that since a few days ago, didn't even realize it until I began prepping for the bills.

I'm poor this month. Running on hard times, this xmas there is nothing underneath the xmas tree, but my moms gift for my kids. I'm glad they at lease have hers there.
-
I overdid it this year too and basically doubled my spending from last year, which is not a good thing. Being in a new relationship has changed my spending habits drastically and sometimes not for the better. I need to watch myself more next year, but I'm afraid I will not be successful.
-
Always over do it for our kids. Spent a little extra on husband.
-
yes, I def did that!!

You should contact the Salvation Army, you can get put on a list where people "adopt" your family for gifts. My work does this through them, that is how I know of it, i'm sure there are other organizations that are similar. My department "adopted" a family, and a couple older people & people contributed gifts on their lists, then the salvation army comes & picks them up & delivers the stuff. We never see the people or hear from them, but know that their holiday was happier. The older people just want simple things like a robe or nail polish, or house shoes usually. Paying it forward :)

I know I spent to much, but I did not go into debt to do it. Merry Christmas!
-
It seems like every year we spend more and more.
-
I definitely went over budget this year. I started early this year which was the problem I think.
-
I spent at least $700.00 in the last 2 days. the good thing about it was it only cost me about $60.00 out of pocket. everything else was gift cards, survey checks and FC. What an awesome year :highfive: :)
-
I probably did to, but a little cheer for those who receive!

I know how that feels. I've never had a lot of money to go all out for Christmas.
One of the things I did was check the thrift stores. I have bought really good gifts for less than a dollar. And nobody knew or cared where it came from, the kids were happy, and I wasn't stressed out about having nothing under the tree.
Good luck.

i wasn't able to spend as much this year..we moved and it took our money for deposits and stuff..so my 2 granddaughters got gifts..i did get a few jars and put candy in them with a card for 2 desserts for each throughout the year for my 2 daughters and son in law
-
I probably did a little bit too, but it's alright, I wanted to help some folks out this year, I'm not in debt, and I'm in better financial shape this year anyway...plus, I just found out I'm getting a small unexpected bonus which will help out a little
-
I think I kept things under control this year. I did use a CC but only because I was ordering online. So I will pay that off when the bill comes in.
-
I bought a flat screen TV and saved $25 using walmart credit card.
-
set a limit to the budget, the hard thing is you can't get all you want.
-
We do secret santa so everybody buy only one gift for each other so every body save a lot.
-
Me too I made the minimum on one of my credit cards go up.
-
This year was the lowest I've spent on Christmas yet including the food. Everything I needed or wanted to get someone, I found on sale somewhere. My nephew's gift card I earned on-line. I was surprised at how little I spent, how much I got and how much budgeted money was left over. (Some of the leftover money was used to get gifts for some kids whose families I know are struggling and for some pets that really needed some food/treats/toys.) It was a great Christmas!!
-
I always over spend at christmas. but I do plan for it so when I go over borad it's not that bad. I also don't spend much during the year :peace: :snowflake: :snowflake: :snowflake:
-
Luckily I didn't spend a lot. I figured that a lot of times people don't like/want/care for the gifts, so why should I waste my money on a gift that people probably don't want.
-
I didn't I only buy for my sister and husband and I help those in need at church
-
We over did it too. But I like my kids to have a nice Christmas. I feel bad if they don't.
-
i spent 50 dollars out of pocket. however i spent around 800 on gifts in total the rest used my online sites to cash out for gift cards to amazon and was able to pay for christmas this way. i would have had plenty to pay for everything except for i had some last minute stragglers telling me what they wanted so i had to purchase the items at a store to have them on time.
