i have not but i have a friend that was at a club and someone walked up to her table and stole her purse i told her she should never take a purse into a club leave it at home or in her trunk she reported but they told her she probably won't get it back which is not what she wanted to here but there is nothing she can do unless she knows who took it

Sorry to hear about your friend. I think too many people these days are too trusting. You should always be careful and always protect yourself.

Oh yeah, my purse was stolen once, but I had my clutch purse in my hand as I was getting ready to pay for the items I had bought, so they did not get much. But the worst was my apartment was broken into and they ripped me off big time. My son was with me at work and when I brought him home I just let him out and went back as I still had a lot to do. Thank God that he did not walk in on them. I got to work and found he had called and I had to turn around and go back home to meet with the cops. Everything is material except my child. We never did find any of it. Must have taken it to a bigger city to *bleep*. Sure glad I had renters insurance and it still did not pay for a lot of it.

Many times...car was broken into 3x. 1) in a parking garage - broke the window and stole a broken copier. 2) tried steal radio but couldnt..cops came around and they took off 3) two front seats were stolen but recovered at a junk yard.

Yes many years ago teenagers broke into my house and took a recorder, records and a few other things. I had a feeling who did it and went to there house and ask for my stuff back. After a day I received my stuff back. another time someone stole my pocket book and I laughed because I had nothing but junk in it. It was a joke on them.

I was at a crowded event and a young man walked by and bounced into me, shortly after I noticed I had been robbed $200. He was gone by then.

This happened to me and my mom back in September. We went somewhere during the day for under an hour and our home was robbed. We have since moved out of there. Just have been through it too many times.

My son had his wallet pick pocketed on Thanksgiving night while he was at work at a gas station. The police took a report, but pretty much told him the same thing. He lost about $60, his license, his soc. security card, gym membership card and his insurance card. Was amazing how much trouble it was to replace the social security card!

I once had all of the cash taken out of my wallet, by a security guard! I was at a club and was told (after I had already purchased an entrance fee) that I couldn't take my hat into the club, and were I to leave to put it in the car, I'd have to pay again. That pissed me off, so I said to the guard that I thought they should have at least posted their dress policy before people paid for their cover charge. His response was "Have a nice night." Since that has nothing to do with what I had just said, I thought he just didn't hear me over the music, so I was about to cup my hands around my mouth to make what I was saying louder. I must've moved too quickly or something, because the guard then grabbed my arms, spun me to the ground, handcuffed me, and too my wallet out of my pocket to get my ID. He then took my wallet into a back room (supposedly to make a copy of my ID, since they were now black-listing me from the club), and when he returned it I no longer had any cash on me (even though we had specifically stopped at an ATM just minutes before going into the club). I saw a cop had rolled up outside the club (probably because they called them about a "violent guest"), so decided to try talking with the cop. But they told me that unless I actually witnessed the guard taking the money, there was nothing that they could do. Grrr...

Yes, I have and it is not a good feeling. I don't wish that on my worst enemy. Thank God I was not at home.

Oh yes - the house that I live in while in my teens was robbed during Christmas. We were completely shocked.

I have not actually been robbed but there was an occasion a few months ago when I was trying to buy flights but could not because my credit card company had stopped my card. When I called up about it they said they were questionning a purchase made over the internet for $1,100 from a top fashiong retailer. I told them I had not made any such purchase and they asked if there was anyway my husband might have a surprise up his sleeve for me! I laughed, if you knew my husband he would never dare spent this much money without consulting me first. The bank was really good about it, closed my card off and that was that! Thank goodness for the fraud dept at my bank!

yes and it suck. My family and I got robbed at gun point for everything we had which was money, jewelry, and some of our technology.

Yes it was when I was a teen though about 12-14 years old some ex friends took my money and laptop and said someone else stole it, I did get it back at the end because I found it hidden in there cabinet.

I have. I made the mistake of leaving my purse in a company car. I thought I had locked the doors, but I guess I didn't. When I came out someone had been in my wallet and stole the cash. It was much, but it still made me mad, especially since the car was parked in front of city hall, which was who I worked for and the police station was next door.

my wife was a cook and she went and hid her purse under the counter behind some pans. ran to the bathroom came back finished her day went to the store to buy groceries only to find that her money had been stolen?!?!?

not personally, but years ago my parents were...my mom accidentally left the keys in door to the house, so someone entered in the middle of the night and took a bunch of stuff...fortunately, it was just money and we weren't harmed

Years ago while living in an apartment complex I was robbed. ALL of my jewelry. I mean stuff that was given to me over the course of years from the time I was 8 years old. Best part of this was that it was someone with a master key! This person or persons took their sweet time in my apartment, even enjoying themselves while they were there! The door to my stereo cabinet was open and on a different station! They knew exactly when people were working because they worked for the apartment complex! It wasn't until I went looking for my gold watch to wear that I noticed everything else was gone, too. Then I heard that I wasn't the only person in the complex that got robbed. LOTS of people experienced the same entry - master key!! I reported all of my items to the police, but never got anything back. Every one of the items taken had HUGE sentimental value to me. I get angry to this day thinking about it.
Want to know the kicker of this story? About 25 years later, yes, 25 YEARS, I was trolling eBay. Guess what I found for sale through an antique jewelry dealer? MY GOLD WATCH! I know it was mine because they had photos posted of it and it specifically stated that the watch was made for "a person with a small wrist." That watch was given to me by my parents when I graduated high school.

I've had my purse stolen while I was at work, my credit cards stolen some years later at another job (by a trusted co-worker), and collectibles stolen by a tenant. Much earlier, in our first house that we bought, we had two break-ins while we were at work. The first time a TV was stolen and the second time, two pistols. In all of these I had that awful feeling of being violated. Many years later, though, when TVs got smaller and smaller, I had to laugh at how hard our TV must have been to get out of the house. It was huge and weighed a ton.

Two houses that I lived in got broken into. One happened when I was a kid they stole a tv and a stereo my brother bought me for either my birthday or xmas can't remember which one. The other time we were selling the house and has a lock box for the key and they got in and stole some jewelry my favorite aunt gave me when I was a kid and a bracelet my grandmother gave to my mother that my mother gave to me. They weren't worth much at all it was the sentimental value that mattered most.

Our home was broken into about 3 years ago, no one was ever caught, nor did we get anything back. They took 2 lap tops, loose change; idiots left about 300 in cash and fortunately missed my wedding and engagement ring.

no, my car was ransacked a few months ago but nothing was missing.

I couldnt imagine going through some of the things that were posted on here... ive never gone through something like that. to the original poster im sorry to hear about her purse. Ive heard about things like that happening a lot in clubs though sad to say.. some og these responses i must say make me want to not carry a purse! Especially the woman who said her co-workers stole out of her purse! oh my goodness! i cant believe all this happened to you guys :/

Since I have been in the USA only once someone broke into my husband's car and stole the briefcase he had left there by mistake, they did not take much since it only had papers LOL, the only good thing was a cell phone, but I mean this was maybe 15 years ago, and the phone was big and we suspended the line right away,
But yes I was mugged once back home, I was walking from the hair salon to the car and a guy came ripped a necklace out of my neck and kept going, I was shocked but the necklace was gold and my hubby replace it for me.

no ive never been robbed before but my wife was stuck at gun point about a year ago

I've never heard of anyone getting their stuff back after it was stolen, except for big, big heists. I don't think the police have much to go on, and they have other matters that, to them, are priority.

LOL ::) I just told this story on the class ring post. Someone broke in to my home and stole my class ring and other jewelry, along with my camera.

No, I have never been robbed and I hope it never happens. But, I have heard many stories from my family and friends were they got robbed.

I've had someone break into my house before, but once he realized I was there he left, thankfully. Have never felt the same sense of being safe since then.

My friends been robbed in nyc... ive personally never been robbed thank god but when my friends was robbed i was so scared for them. One of them was my bf at the time and i hope they made it home ok

Well, if you call using my credit card number online to buy a big screen hi def t.v., then yes, I've been robbed. I had to track the thief down myself and even told the police where she would be picking up the stuff that she ordered on my card.
It was at one of the Wal-Marts in Georgia. :o
Anyway, the police did go there and caught her in the act, but she gave them some sob story about someone from another country telling her to do it. So they did absolutely nothing at all. :-\
And after my home was burned down and I had it boarded up, people came and took down the boards (costly for me because I had to reboard it) and stole whatever they could find. That was a form of robbery. Life is really fair, isn't it? ???

I guess that depends on your specific premise of being robbed. I've not had someone break into my home and steal things, but I have been stolen from by family members and friends who were invited in. I have been stolen from financially by family in different ways. I have had businesses steal from me in ways. I think things like this have happened to pretty much everyone. It's really disappointing, and it makes me sad when people I know do this to me. But the fact it happens to people and that there are people that do this to others all the time makes me more sad.

Awful that some people have no ethics or morals. Don't care about the needs and belongings of others just whatever they want - that was bad but what about the poor elderly couple who went to look at a mustang that didn't exist so some jerk could rob them and kill them. Really sad !

Yes i have, It was in High school right after Christmas. I had all of my gift cards in my jeep and they got stolen in the parking lot and my purse was found in the dumpster near by! :(

nope but it would really freak me out. i tend to get panicky about things so if it happened i would have a lot of issues leaving my house again.

i lost a wallet at a amusement park once and they took only the little cash i had but not my credit cards and i got it back without any other problems

My car had been broken into when I lived in a shady neighborhood. This was over 9 years ago.

When I was a teenager I had a lot of things stolen from me, cell phones, money, purses, etc. Nothing major thank goodness. I am always paranoid about someone breaking in our home while we are at work or breaking into our vehicle. It just happens so often anymore. My neighbor was robbed just a few weeks ago.

Happily I can say that I've never been robbed, nor have some one close to me. I've been really go at being aware of my surroundings and not having money or anything valuable out in the open while I walk down the street.

Yes lost money several times, and recently a girl from an energy company came soliciting our business and she was describing the details, when I just left the table for a minute or two and found out later after she left that my wallet which was near the computer was gone! She had taken the cash and thrown the wallet outside the door.

Yes, I had one dangerous attempted robbery where someone knocked on my front door in the middle of the night. Luckly, that night I.was sleeping in the livingroom. I heard the knock started shuffling the. knives he heard and ran away.

I have had someone break into my car and steal everything out of my car. It was finals week at school so I had my laptop, external hard drive with all of my editing videos on there and lost it all. I do't care about the laptop, I just want that hard drive back because it had 4 years worth of work on it.

Yes I have, walking down my street in my old neighborhood. It was in the winter time so it got dark early. Some young guy turned the corner from another street and saw me. He was going in the other direction but preceded to turn around and walk with me, acting like he was making conversation.
A few minutes later he told me to give him my purse and searched my coat pockets to make sure I wasn't hiding anything. I had my hands up the whole time. I'm not sure because I didn't see it, but I think he held a gun to my head. Thank God he just took the purse and ran. The police found my purse in someone's driveway. The main thing is that I wasn't hurt. That was over 10 years ago. To this day when I go out, except for church and if I'm with my husband, I don't carry a purse. Not because I'm afraid, but it's just more convenient for me.

Been robbed once while i slept. They some how got in the garage and stole a bunch of expensive stuff out of my garage

a couple of years a go I walked outside of my house and caught somebody breaking into my car. They saw me after they ran down the street. They looked up from behind the bushes they were hiding behind and I held up the phone like "Hello! I'm calling the cops on you dumbasses!"
