Title: Supergirl TV series
Post by: JediJohnnie on March 24, 2015, 02:45:16 pm
There's a new Supergirl series in the works from the creators of Arrow and The Flash. It'll star Melissa Benoist as the Maid of Might and may or may not crossover with Flash & Arrow.Look for it in the fall.

I watch both of those shows, so I'm sure I'll be checking this one out too.

I do hope it works out but...on CBS?  Not so much.

The original Supergirl actress Helen Slater is going to be on the show,as well as former Superman Dean Cain.

Cool, Arrow got too dark for me , but I love Flash.  To be a crossover it'd have to be on WB (yikes said CBS), where the other two shows are.

I enjoyed the new extended trailer for this show. It runs over 6 minutes long! But if you're interested, check it out on youtube.

Sanglee: Helen Slater appears in this along with Dean Cain in at least the pilot.  I thought the trailer was a bit cheesy but workable.  I hope CBS knows what it is doing with it.

The trailer looks ok, i'll give it a chance but I am not optimistic about it.

I'm afraid it's going to lose a lot of male viewers do it's "girly" approach. I think it would be a shame, since this cast looks very strong and it seems pretty faithful to the concept. (Well, Jimmy Olsen notwithstanding...)

I like how the trailer refers to Superman without actually saying the name "Superman" at all. I wonder if there's a legal reason for that.

I haven't heard anything about a Supergirl tv show, but I did hear something about a Wonder Woman show, but all of a sudden nothing on Wonder Woman?

I haven't heard of this one either.  Hope that it is true because I like this type of show.  They are like watching comic books.  Guess I have to search the worldwide web and find out.  Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, that's a good question. WB tends to embargo it's characters. If they're in a movie they can't use them on TV & vice versa.

That Wonder Woman show never made it past the pilot stage. Adrianne Palicki was to star, but she still managed to play a superheroine. She can be found as Mockingbird on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

I'm really enjoying the show thus far. Apparently Kara's Aunt Astra is going to be the big baddie this season!

There is definitely a different feel to the show. There's a bit of Lois and Clark charm to it which feels rightly familiar.

I have seen the previews but I haven't had time to watch any of it. I am usually not good watching Tv shows during the week days. I will just wait when and if it will be on Netflix. I do like the arrow and flash though!

Well, tonight was the final episode of the season, and it was quite a doozy!

Still no "official" word on this show's renewal by CBS, but rumor has it, it will return next year. Let's hope that's the case. It's my favorite show- second only to The Flash!

It hasn't been confirmed or canceled yet as far as I know.  I think it will find a new home if it doesn't stay on CBS.

Does this mean the current Supergirl show is going to be cancelled? If so that's too bad I liked it well enough, all though I think they could make Supergirl more capable and base it closer to the comic book version. Perhaps they'll fix some of these flaws in this newer show.

Somehow the female version of Super Man does not do it for me.  I liked the old show with Clark Kent, the mild-mannered reporter.

Seems like they really lose something every time they make a new version of a wonderful old classic....to make it more "today".

I do not watch it.

Well, Supergirl has been spared the canceler's Ax. ;D It's heading from CBS to the CW however. But I think that's for the best. Now it'll be easier to have crossovers with the CW's other DC shows, Flash,Arrow & Legends of Tomorrow!

That's less about it moving from CBS to CW (as CBS owns half of CW) and more about the show moving production from L.A. to Vancouver where the rest of the DC shows are shot to save money.  I'm happy it got saved as there is a lot of potential and Melissa Benoist is great.  But I do worry about the changes in the long term.

Supergirl is an old character like Batgirl and Hawkgirl. She did not come from the push for PC/diversity like the new Ms. Marvel and female Thor.

Hello to everyone out there In Fusion Cash World:

I have heard a little bit about "Supergirl"  but I watched the cartoon version of it,  and I enjoyed it.
I mean "Supergirl"  had a crush on Jim Olsen, I think.  Anyways, they were both the same age and all I know is that she wanted to "marry him"  and go live on his planet earth!

That's all I remember.  And, as for "Wonder Woman",  this tv show is shown on "ME tv".

I enjoy watching, "Wonder Woman!"

I think season one is already showing on netflix but I didn't check it out yet because we are backed up on stuff we are finishing up like season 11 of supernatural.  We love arrow and also all the other marvel shows  we just finished season one of Luke Cage.  Honestly we can't keep up with all the shows we watch on netflix and for $10 a month I don't think you can beat it.

Superman's purpose in the finale was to punctuate the differences between he and Supergirl. He said it himself at the end that she was the better of the two. But of course it was to be expected since it is her show after all. He can't be there to always overshadow what she does.

I just felt like they gave him (Superman) something fairly constructive to do in the earlier team up episode. Here, he just takes out a few Daximite grunts. Hardly a job for Superman. lol But, yeah, it's her show, so she was obviously going to win their fight.

This series is to politically correct to keep watching it
