Is the pollen making you sick? The pollen count is high today where I live and my head feels like it's about to explode.

Only certain pollens are what I have problems with. They make me sneeze. I am glad that I don't have any more problems with pollen than that. I like to enjoy the spring flowers and smells. BMaston12

Luckily pollen don`t make me sick, but sometimes makes my hubby and daughter sick.
-
So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well due to the pollen. I know the pollen is bad here because a vehicle we have parked in our yard has the yellow pollen powder all over it. I used to have a horrible problem with allergies and pollen but I don't seem to anymore - ofcourse I stay inside most of the time with the airconditioning running so I don't know if that is it ! Well feel better soon I hope.
-
Yes, the pollen is really bothering me this year. More than ever!
-
My husband always make him sick and allergy.
-
It does not matter what time of the year I have problems. My heart doctor put me on Zyrtec and I only take it at night and it has helped so much. I am now getting some sleep. there is nothing wrong with my heart, but just needed a stress test. Nuclear one. because of my thyroid. But oh to have is great. No coughing at night.
-
No, just allergies. It's spring time for pollens again.
-
personally isn't bothering me but my hubby is having a heck of a time with the stuffy nose and such. my car has gone from silver to pure yellow lol
-
Yes, I am constantly sneezing and my nose is super runny.
-
Yes I have COPD so I am trying to stay inside as much as possible because I can't breathe.
-
I don't really suffer from allergies, but I think over the past few years I'm starting to develop a sensitivity. I feel like the high pollen might be making my head cold stick around for a little longer than usual. And the past few months I've had a lingering minor cough that I think is just a chronic allergy cough or something.
-
Sick isn't a word I would use right now. I'm down right miserable! When I have and allergy attack it ends up going into an asthma attack. And because our pollen counts have been over a 1000 on some days...
-
Trees are budding late this year. Its been too cold where i live!!
-
gives me a headache if tree pollen gets too high.
-
Yes, Yes and Yes. Like many others my car has turned yellow. Can wash it off and the next morning it's back. Amazing to see all that pollen. Sneezing has begun, stuffy nose is back.............like old friends every spring. Not going to let it stop me from getting outside. Am considering getting and wearing one of those masks while I'm outside, anyone else ever use one? Does it help? Excuse me while I sneeze........ :rose:
-
Zyrtec has become my best friend! Has really kept the congestion down especially at night!
-
Yes making me sneeze! :sad1:
-
Yes and it just keeps coming back all the time.
-
The pollen only bother men in the ragweed is awful. The pollen in spring never does.
-
No thank goodness I don't have allergies.
-
I'm lucky in that pollen mostly doesn't bother me. Some people seem to suffer quite a lot with it.
-
The pollen is not making me sick i have never really shown signs of allergies thank God, from what i hear they are not fun to deal with.
-
no pollen or allergy problem here, yet. It's been too chilly, damp & rainy. Been really sick with a bad sinus infection though & that hasn't been fun.
-
Oh, yes! It is terrible. Dust, snow and even gusty winds with so much particle matter.
-
I'm not sure if its the pollen. Our car's dashboard is covered with the stuff and if I don't wash my hands after getting out of the car my nose start acting up and my eyes start itching. I haven't had issues with my allergies in years but they seem to be coming back.
-
so far this year I am getting any allergies; just a couple of sneeze. Last year was bad.
-
I am not bothered by it too much but 2 of my friends are having a bad time with it.

No but lately my son has been sneezing a lot and his teacher think he is faking. My son is allergic to dust pollen etc. His teacher thinks he is faking even though it is noted in his charts at school. I am so tired of teachers of thinking they know what is best.
-
Yes, the pollen this year has been pretty bothersome. So far, I have had horrible headaches and a stuffy nose every few days. Its very annoying. Nasal sprays and allergy medicine have become my new friends. :P
-
Unfortunately, my allergies have turned into an upper respiratory infection. I have not been feeling very good this past week. Yuck.
-
So sorry to hear that. I don't get any problems until I mowed the lawn. Then I would have sneezing and eye irritation together. The next few days will be excruciating then I dies down and continue on when I start mowing again. It is terrible!
-
Not really making me sick, just tired of the runny nose and dry cough, I need to start taking my allergy medicines.
-
No, I don't have allergies. I'm really sorry for all you who do! :(
-
Don't think pollen will make you sick it will make you miserable if your allergic though and may make you feel like your sick
-
Yes, my husband , son , and I are currently sick because of pollen.
-
I've been using my neti-pot/sinus rinse every other day, and it seems to be helping. I'm not stopped up or sneezing so maybe it's helping.
-
I know I do take allergy pill for it. Spring make my allergy worst
-
YES. My allergies are so bad. Losing voice, constant runny nose, sneezing, eyes bothering me, you name it. I hate this time of year.

Yes it has been show to help. It washes the irritants out of your nasal passages. I just cant stand the process. yuck.

Funny you should broach the subject as I was just mentioning this exact problem in another post! I have had to do more outside work over the last month for my daughter's high school graduation and have been suffering miserably! I look ten to fifteen years older than my normal age because my eyes are all puffed out. Normally I am locked in my study or office with not a breath of fresh air or pollen and am able to skate safely through the allergy season...not this year. I don't get sick. My eyes get swollen, my nose is on constant drip and I am forever sneezing for about three weeks. The pollen/allergy season seems to be coming to an end because I am getting my eyes back and am not feeling all worn out and sneezy.
-
Yes, I have been experiencing the allergy season lately. I had such a terrific headache last week that I couldn't function a couple of days.
-
So far the pollen has not bothered me. But I know it is going to kick in soon and I will be a mess.
-
It's funny because it usually doesn't bother me but this year it's making me sneeze. Who knew you could develop an allergy at almost 33?
-
My sons and one of my daughters sneeze horribly around this time of the year but I was Claritin prepared. The pollen leaves a thick blanket on the cars. I can't wait to move to use my garage b/c right now I don't even bother washing my truck.
-
The pollen count in my area had been high too. Itchy eyes and sinus headaches have been getting me.
-
I don't feel good only not sick. Maybe mine is mild.
-
Allergies tend to plague me all year round, but I seem to be particularly vulnerable during pollen season. I always seem to feel miserable at work and sometimes I feel like I'm the only person. Irony is when a lot of other people get sick, I seem to be feeling relatively clear.

Buy some local honey...not store bought but from a farmer's market...have it on toast for about a wk. or a tsp. every day...it works!

it is the flu that makes you sick
-
every year for the past four to five years I've been having this issue. This year I am having any problem with the pollen because I am consuming ginger powder with berries. This combination is working for me.
-
not yet so far!!!!!!!!!! hope it stays that way
-
Oh my goodness, the pollens really affect my eight year old son. He suffers from all kinds of allergies which is particularly bad in his case because the allergies then trigger his asthma. So he is prescribed Zyrtec and Singulair which he takes every day. He obviously also has an Albuterol Inhaler at home but for when his asthma gets really bad, our fabulous doctor has also issued him with a Nebulizer to keep at home.
-
I hear ya loud and clear. The pollen makes me get more asthma attacks and prevents me from even doing anything outside. For me, it's just not in the Spring either - it's year-round.
-
Before I moved to this area, I had a horrible time with pollen. But now, I'm fine. No sneezing or watery eyes. I'm so happy.
-
Luckily pollen don`t me sick. But I notice one of my friend, pollen making her terrible, and that's happen every spring and fall. I really feel sorry for her. I wish there is something I can do, to help her to make it go away.
-
Oh my goodness, YES! Actually, I just came back from Wal-Mart to purchase some Visine Allergy eyedrops. Between that and taking Benadryl pills (which make me extremely drowsy), I am an absolute mess during this time of year.
-
I do not suffer with allergies, but I have friends that do.

-
Im not that effected by pollen, my mother, and my cousin have bad problems with it
-
The first few weeks of pollen season is the most annoying... Sneezing, running nose, itchy eyes, and bleeding nose is quite common, but later it gets less annoying
-
I haven't had too much trouble this year with allergies. But I do have a constant little issue that persists all year. And my job sometimes causes an increase to my issues but at least it isn't every day that it happens.
-
I could hardly breathe this morning and felt terrible because I spent more time than usual outside this weekend.
-
I get a lot of sinus headaches thanks to the pollen from the pine trees around here. Maybe twice a year I get pretty sick with upper respiratory infection or sinus infection. Hate to get sick like that cause then I get scared to go outside much.
-
Fortunately I have not been too bad this year, knock on wood. I have been miserable in years past.
