Title: which do you prefer

Post by: CharmedPhoenix on May 05, 2015, 02:20:42 pm: I grew up with a charcoal grill. Don't know if I've experienced gas grill food. These days my grill burns paper and I love it. Too bad they didn't catch on. I can grill all season on the junk mail I get. ;)

Post by: dwggs on May 06, 2015, 04:57:43 am: My mom always used a charcoal grill and food tasted great .. unfortunately I usually don't have the time to wait for the coals to get hot enough to grill on so I use my quick gas grill. It's ready in just minutes to cook on.

Post by: appy9104 on May 06, 2015, 06:41:10 am: Nothing like the taste of charcoal grilled food, but I cannot even remember the last time I had food looked on charcoal. Seems like most use gas because it is quick and more reliable cooking temp etc (but doesn't mean it tastes better!)

Post by: pmagalei on May 06, 2015, 08:43:33 am: Charcoal is always perfect for chicken and fish because it gives you that nice flavor. But will not be good for beef or steak meat. Steak is best cooked on gas grill it gives it that nice little fire and then you can adjust the heat.

Either one will do for me. What I REALLY appreciate is a "Smoker." I love the taste of Mesquite and we buy Mesquite wood to smoke whole chickens. Finger lickin' GOOD!

But here lately I am always doing all the cooking as the weather has not been the greatest. Either it is too windy and dusty or raining or I had not planned for BBQ. Summer is just around the corner and hopefully the weather is better.
