the last couple of years a few companies were showcasing different versions of hover board and now Lexus has created one that is pretty close to what is seen in the back to the future movies. It is pretty awesome, go check it out.

Well here comes more fat people if you get what I mean and lazy people as well ><.
-
I thought the idea of a hover board was a joke.

Very cool and interesting...thanks for sharing!
-
I saw it on TV yesterday. It looks neat. Why didn't they have things like that when I was a kid??
-
This can be very dangerous i think i will just walk 8)
-
My kids tell me I'm a dope for falling for those youtube videos about hover boards. I'm fairly gullible. :dontknow:
So I guess I'll have to stay an unbeliever in the hover board world. :-\

Like skateboards, hover boards might require the rider to push themselves with one foot.

They are pretty neat, aren't they? I would imagine it takes a little time to get used to. Look out for broken bones and butts, LOL.
-
All these gadgets are too convenient. we need to use our muscles and bones to move around.
-
With ONE DAY to spare! ;) Anybody care to wager on whether Marty McFly will show up any time tomorrow to try out a hover board?

Thanks for sharing that link. I totally believe this is real science. It's not like skateboards for street use at all, it requires a special track. Super conductors are real. It makes me think of bullet trains and magnetic propulsion. Science fiction is science future. Look at how many people walk around with communicators, tablets, memory sticks and memory cards, just like in Star Trek. :glasses-nerdy:

Thanks but no thanks, I will keep my 2 feet on the ground. If I have to go some where, farther then I am walking then I will take the car. At least I know I won't fall and break a bone. I know it can happen walking or riding in the car but at least I would be safer.

Although Funny Or Die and Tony Hawk did create a hoax video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4vE_vpkr90) about the "first hooverboard" that many fell for, there actually are now a few real hooverboard designs. Wired has an article (http://www.wired.com/2015/10/how-the-most-promising-hoverboards-actually-work/) about the three different hooverboards that have been invented to-date. One works much more like the hoover-boats or helicopters where the board has rotors that push air downwards to create lift, while the other two designs relies upon magnetism. It'll be interesting to see whether any of these will get developed further for a true consumer good.

I love the fact most of the post sound as if they know nothing about the hover board which only hovers, u have to do the work to make it move but it will save wear and tear on sidewalks/streets while allowing someone to use it for running quick errands to the library, store, take urself to school, ect....here's the link i seen yesterday about the laws in Austria will soon be updated since it's finally going to be available for folks to use. FYI they need no machanics or fuel as they act as repelling magnets using the metals underground. I've forgotten the whole story but it's wonderful how they work. Story on ABC about the law updates needed:

I recall seeing a news article recently about the gadgets and gizmo's which were originally showcased in the Back to the Future movie so many years ago now and it implied how accurately futuristic the film was to be predicting things decades in advance. I don't quite see it like that. I think someone imagined these ideas up as extraordinary pieces of futuristic science and then someone else started to put the wheels in motion regarding the creation of this 'out of this world' item.

Awesome, thank you back to the future!! The day is here wohoo

Yes, there basically are the 2 types of predictions: the self-fulfilling prophecies where someone sees something cool and go about trying to create it in real-life (eg. hooverboards, self-tying Nikes), and the truly insightful ones that accurately reads future trends (eg. video-phone, wearable tech.).

Isn't it the hover boards that have been bursting into flames? I've seen them on the news lately. There are all kinds of warnings out about them.
And they don't hover over anything either. Duh!
-
I've seen these but I also have seen a news report showing how THEY CATCH FIRE when plugged in to recharge so, if I were anyone who is going to get one, I'd be real careful!!!
-
It also randomly bursts into flames. lol
-
Looks fun and such but I do now plan to get one neither is anyone in my family.
-
There is a safety issue if you buy one with a cheap Chinese battery. Be sure you have a quality battery by a well known source. One CEO of a hoverboard company stated that if you pay less than about $400 you could certainly have one with a cheap battery and be sure and check no matter!!!
-
Finally available for people with walking problems!
-
Now if they can just make them so they don't catch on fire so easily!
-
I always hear Mark Cuban suing other hoverboard companies because he had the patient for it. Other then that I heard some boards exploded due to charging
-
Yeah I don't think it will take long for "real" hover boards to be around. have a great holiday!
-
Great news, I hope that they do not explode while charging....
-
Eat your heart out Marty told you it could be made in 2015
-
I prefer to keep my feet on solid ground; thank you very much!

Hahaha! I can't even skateboard so I don't know if I'b be able to even use it.
-
Those things are crazy dangerous! I want no part of them!
-
If Amazon is saying "Throw them out and we will refund you for buying it" then it's not something worth having.
-
yep getting even to lazy to just walk, where is my hover board lol... no I bet it be cool to have one and cruise around on it.

The board in the video is like a hover board. If you wear a cloaking dress, you can make a cool floating special effect.
-
I am going to have to look this up and see what it is. I saw someone post about it yesterday.
-
I think the hover boards are stupid, because they are dangerous, especially to children.
-
I would be reluctant to buy one after everything I've seen with the fires! They don't look very safe!

It looks cool, kids will love it.
-
It's real, my bro told me they had to recall several hover board models due fire issues! I also heard on NPR a priest in the Philippines was punished for riding a hover board doing a sermon on Christmas!LOL! Church is boring to me but if someone was preaching to me riding a hover board I'd stay awake for sure! Oh, darn it, I forgot to put hover board on my x-mas wish list!😭
-
Hoverboards are such a waste of R&D. Why not research and develop something that actually matters in the world.
-
yep and catching on fire,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
-
The New Hover board is going to be the cause of so many people getting hurt or worse. I would never allow a child of mine to use one. It's rolling death. What were the designers and manufacturers thinking when they created that death trap?
-
I'm a huge BTTF fan, but have no desire to get excited about these ridiculous things.
