Title: A Myth about the Cyrillic Alphabet
Post by: Cbsteffen on October 11, 2015, 04:39:52 pm
I have read that 5 Cyrillic letters look and sound like letters from the English alphabet (A, K, M, O T) and that 7 Cyrillic letters look like English letters but sound different (B, E, H, P, C, X, and Y), but that's not quite right. Why do people think the C sounds different? It sounds just like the soft C in English which sounds the same as the S.

I appreciate this question, but I do not know the answer. I don't think there a lot of people familiar with the Cyrillic alphabet....yours truly included.
