Title: what are your thoughts of travelling in the solar system.

i have given it some thought, the other planets in the solar system do not harbor much of any life beside micro bacteria so it is only natural for people to want visit these vast open planets. It is too bad that none of the planets have any creatures but that makes these planets relatively safe aside from not being able to breath on them. 

it probably isn't going take off as soon as next year but i can see the beginning of commercial space flight happening within my life time.

I'm really into space and astronomy, so I'm hoping this becomes a reality in my lifetime. I agree with you that most of our own planets are very hostile, with the exception of Mars. But I think many years from now, not within my lifetime, there will be space travel to planets outside our solar system. I like listening to old time science fiction radio programs because they sometimes use stories that are like this, and it makes me excited for the future of space exploration.

Do NOT want to....phooey....black holes, thermal nuclear gases, space debris, gravity issues, oxygen issues....I'll stay on this planet thank you very much.

As far as the planets in our solar system I agree that there's not much chance for life...or rather life as we know it. It'd be so cool if we had the technology to be able to travel to other galaxies without taking a lifetime to do so. Because who knows what kind of life, if any, other galaxies hold.
