Post by: snuggleycutejc on January 10, 2016, 09:58:45 am
I was told to get a Boston Fern, this is to put moist back in the air. The spider plant is a good plant to intake fumes. Herbs you eat them. Do you have house plants? Do you know what your plants are doing for you? lol, Some plants helps with circulation of air inside your house, have you noticed this? Have a gr8 day  :present:

I have my grandmother's Christmas cactus which is probably 40 years old.  I have three African violets and an ivy. I'm not really into house plants anymore, but I used to have dozens of them.

I love houseplants.

I have a "Moses in the Bullrushes" that is 23 years old, from a very dear friend.

The apartment I live in now is so shady, I have mine under a special grow light, and they do fine. That gives me a garden all year around.

I share shoots with my son-in-law who has a green thumb thing going on.

When I was younger I used to have indoor houseplants (only one I remember is a cactus) but it quickly started having gnats... We got rid of the gnats eventually but had to giveaway the houseplant when we moved

I like houseplants but do not have any good places to put them by sunny windows.

I was trying to keep my hibiscus plant alive over winter, but just had to throw it out this week.  Dead plant :(

I love plants. Unfortunately I have NO luck with them.  Every plant that I've ever had has died, guess I have a black thumb instead of a green one lol

I love houseplants. I have 3 hanging baskets and 8 either on tables or large ones on the floor in pots.  I'm pretty lucky don't kill too many, but have had my share of killing them!

I have Philodendron's and Peace Lillie's.  They are so easy to care for and grow very fast, my favorite type of house plant.   :rose:

I like houseplants. I have a few in my room right now. Two orchids and an azalea bush. My dad brought home the second orchid yesterday and it's the only one with flowers right now. My first orchid and azalea bush are starting to get new leaves and still thriving even though the flowers have died off.

I like house plants, but unfortunately they don't like me much as no matter what I do, they often die on me after owning them for a few weeks or months.  Haven't been able to keep one alive.

On the bright side, plants seem to do quite well for me outside of the house - in my yard and garden.  So I'll take that trade off.  :)

I really like the look of house plants. They make rooms seem more airy and tranquil and I feel sure they would be an important part of fung shwei! (Apologies for the spelling!). However what I don't seem able to accomplish is to water them the right amount. I think I tend to over water them which, in the past, has lead to me noticing little grubs in the compost which presumably arrived after the flies left! They look so perfect having bought them from the store and then just after a few weeks, they start to look a little over-loved!

I absolutely adore house plants which I take inside for the winter and put out for the summer. I have had basically the same plants since 1975. They have had thousands of babies from which I have made even more plants. The two that
are especially prolific are my spider plants and a purple plant that has lovely pink flowers in the summer.

Love my houseplants, unfortunately my cat has taken a sudden liking to them.   Had two orchids for several years but they died, I believe it was my fault but I'm going to get some new ones.  Have some lavender growing, large snake plant, really big aloe plant that I take outside in the summer, a purple shamrock and a green one also.  Several others that I'm unsure of the name.

I have house plants, I honestly don't know what kind they are, I received them after my son passed last year, I am trying to keep them alive as long as possible because they do look nice. I just don't have a green thumb!

I love houseplants but I keep my house so dark that it is hard to keep them alive through the winter.  I took my hibiscus tree  that I got from my sister-in-law's funeral to my office since we have huge windows.  It is getting ready to bloom!

Yes! I got a teeny tiny one from Kroger in October (looks like a baby's tears plant but not sure at all) and have thoroughly enjoyed watching it grow. I've had to transfer it to a bigger pot once already and looks like I may need to do that again soon. I wasn't confident I could keep it alive, haha, but so far, so good.  :clover:

House plants can improve the indoor air quality in your home. Some of them will even give you more oxygen for better indoor breathing.

Absolutely! Good for the air in there, especially if you live with a smoker. Unfortunately I have 2 cats and, well, you can use your imagination.  ;)

Houseplants are lovely but I managed to kill a cactus so I gave up(I need things that whine at me, lol).  I have a couple of silk ones,  safer for the cats anyway (good excuse lol)

I have a few cut roots of an  aloe plant floating in water.
A few years ago, I met someone who had a whole bunch of aloe plants in his front yard.
He trimmed a plant and gave me a few stems.
I don't like to fuss with dirt and pots, so I have kept them floating in water for about three years.
I also have an Aerogarden.
I buy seed pods in February and if all goes well, the plants grow for 6 months.
I buy again in September.
I have salad greens, cherry tomatoes, herbs......

I love them and they are beautiful, but I always forget to water them, so I am not a very good person to take care of house plants, I get busy doing too many other things.
