When I was younger I remember all the neighbors hung laundry all the time. Now it's really rare you see laundry hanging on lines.
-
Yes! I remember the old way to dry clothing by hanging out laundry in suburbia. If you live in a city or town with clean air, that is the best way to finish your laundry.
-
when I was growing up we always had clothes on the line. The one thing I really miss about that is sheets and towels being hung out on the line I miss the fresh smell and the feel of them. :rose: :rose: :peace:

Yes, I hung up 4 new lines last year too. And I still hung up clothes this winter.
-
So true, I remember I used to help my Mom hang out the laundry. Today there is noway I will do that. Drier Drier drier.
-
I hang my bed clothes on our porch / deck because our dryer is too small for them. I have pretty big comforters.
-
I need the rope and a good clothes line you don't see often really haven't shopped for one. I don't like the fade of the clothes have shade though. I have seen the monster inside me show, and hangout clothes was in that show, and I never knew why you ironed the bed sheets and iron your clothes when really they were not wrinkled, and now I know so think of that.

I do not hang my laundry out. I don't have any clotheslines outside or I would hang sheets out to dry. Other items, I like the fluffiness that the dryer provides.
We always hung everything out when we were kids.....Mom had 4 lines that were very long and the lines were loaded since there were 7 kids to keep laundry up behind!
-
No I do not, but if I had a clothes line I would probably hang out stuff during the summertime only.
-
My family still hangs our clothes outside in the backyard. It's way better than putting them in the dryer and lets the clothes last longer
-
I don't usually hang it out in the wintertime, but in the spring and summer I hang out all the laundry I don't want to put in a dryer plus sheets and pillowcases. I love the smell of freshly outdoor-dried sheets and pillowcases on my bed at night which is why I do that.
-
nope just put it in the dryer.............. :turkey:
-
no don't hang out laundry.sometimes it gets so hot in my garage in the summer I kind of lay out clothes over the washing machine and they get a head start on drying. When I did hang out clothes the towels felt terrible.
-
I used to hang laundry outside but my clothesline broke and I never replaced it.
-
No, but wish I could sometimes. I remember visiting my late Grandparents when I was a child ad they always hung clothes on the line, they had such a fresh smell to them. But now, we all basically use cloth dryers, if I lived in a house instead of a condo I would have a clothe line! in addition to the dryer.
-
If I lived in the country, yes I would hang my laundry-the air is fresher. In the city, never. There is dust, birds, planes that is being dropped down from wherever.
-
I don't think we will see that in the near future. Considering all the new inventions and technologies of our day and age. Our children and their children are really spoiled. Gone are the days when we grew up seeing mama doing laundry by hand and then hang clothes on a line to dry.
-
I use to hang out my clothes when my children were home. I use the dryer for my white clothes and for my tops and pants I were to work, I hang them on hangers in the bath room. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
-
I do once and awhile when needed to!
-
Used too, but now I use the dryer due to pollens on clothes.
-
Only during really sunny days if not, No I dry them in the dryer.
-
I live in the city, so there is nowhere to really hang them. I just put them in the dryer.
-
Yes I still hang out laundry in the summer time.
-
Yes, I still hang my laundry outside. It has the best smell when you bring it in.
-
No I don't hangout my laundry outside like when I was younger, but I do hang my clothes in the laundry room to line dry, but we also have our dryer.
-
It is rare now a days. I remember my mom always hanging lots of our laundry outside on the clothes line. I still hang some of my stuff up though. I feel it preserves certain fabrics and also keeps it from getting holes.
-
A clothesline isn't really practical where I currently live, but I've had one before, and you can't beat the freshness of clothes that hang that way and dry. It's also a nicely green solution, so win win there. One of my fondest memories is helping my mom hang up clothes together and telling jokes, talking.
-
did when i was younger and a few years ago..but now now..i will just continue to use my dryer...
-
I would...but I live in an apartment so don't really have space... I have hung them in my bathroom when the dryer didn't quite get everything dry and that seemed to work..it just took a while
-
I like air drying my clothes hanging them outside doesn't shrink some as when i put them in the drier lol
-
i remember my mom used to hang out the laundry when i was young. but i don't do it myself but i know someone who does it
-
I wish I can hang out laundry but where I live there is no where to hang up a clothesline.
-
I don't have anywhere to hang it. My mom used to hang clothes on the line outside in the back yard. I don't think she does that anymore.
