Do/did you get to know the bus driver? I rode the bus, the bus driver was fun/friendly. Thank you bus drivers. Have a gr8 day :present:
-
Yes I rode the bus in high school.
-
No. When I went to school and lived in town, you walked. I envied the kids who lived outside town because if we got a heavy snow (at that time, 1-2 feet), they got the day off, while the school was still open for town kids.
My parents always bought homes at the "end" of town so school was at least a mile away and had to walk every day. My father, being a cop, would not allow me to stay home on those snow days, either. Said I had to go because his reputation depended on being a good citizen of town. Anyway, one year, we got 3 feet of snow and since school started at 8 a.m., that meant leaving at 7:15 a.m. Snow was up to my hips and the only thing protecting my legs was my skirt and slacks which I was allowed to wear until I got to school (no slacks allowed back then). I walked in the vehicle tire tracks in the street because none of the pavements were shoveled yet. Got to school and 3 kids out of 30 in the classroom so it was study hall all day.
My dad could NEVER tell me he had to walk miles to school in the snow. Where he grew up, his farm was only a few hundred feet from his one-room school house, but I could. :)

My school was pretty small so we never had a bus. The only time a bus was there is if we were going on a field trip. But we didn't live that far from the school and my mom happened to work there so I always had a ride.
-
Yes when I was going to school I rode the bus, lol
-
I grew up poor and was given bus money every day to get to my school that was three miles away. Instead of taking the bus I would walk both ways and put ninety percent of the bus money into a bank account. This was in Wisconsin and there were a few Januarys where the wind chill got to fifty degrees below zero and sometimes colder. I was actually bummed when the teachers went on strike because I was not able to get that bus fare into my account. It did allow me to get an early start on cutting lawns and finding new customers as well as going aluminum can hunting. My mother also paid me to do extra chores around the house like painting the exterior and re centering a thirty yard long retaining wall. I never got to know my bus driver.
-
I didnt have to ride the bus to school but I went on my share of bus rides with extra curricular activities.
I am debating now whether or not to have my daughter ride a bus to school when she hits 3rd grade. We would have to get up an hour earlier or I can drive 40 minutes every morning. Glad I have a year to decide.
-
I did until I was able to drive then I drove to school.
-
I come from a Latin America Country and we had no school buses, we went to any school we wanted and my parents would drive us there and pick us up. My daughters rode the school bus, The Elementary School is only a few minutes away 1/2 mile from home but there is no side walk and a lot of forest in between so they had a bus, the High School is a few miles away and they took the bus, my youngest in a Senior and she drives herself now, but she could take the bus if needs be.
-
Rode the bus and we had a lot of bus drivers - nearly most were nice, and one in particular didn't have a lot of patience with us kids. :(
-
I took the bus to school. It was too far to walk.
-
I remember taking the bus to grade school and high school.
There was a time when the bus got stuck in the mud.
There was a "famous" spot that was always a dirt path.
We were late for school.
I wanted to be a bus driver when I grew up.
I liked to watch her use the stick shift.
The Volkswagon on those days had a stick shift.
Of course, I never did [ couldn't] because I never learned to drive due to my disability.
-
I only attended school for first and second grade, and was homeschooled for the rest of the time. My mom always picked me up, so I never rode the bus. One of the elementary schools I went to is within walking distance, so sometimes I stroll by and see what changes they've made. Crazy how time goes by.
-
No , never took the bus to school, but my son does and he loves it.
-
I rode a bus only when I was in elementary school. I do not remember the bus driver.
-
Nope. Never rode the bus. Neither did any of my kids when they were going to school. From what I hear goes on inside the school buses, I'm very grateful that we didn't ever ride the bus.
What happens to children when they're in a group and not supervised? Poor bus drivers. Scary! :dontknow:
I think that our Fusion Cash people that have bus stories should relate them to other FCers. Whatcha think?
:fish:

-
I had a school bus driver that we use to call Cone Head. She still lives in my town.
-
I rode the bus all of my school days. It was safe and no one acted up to where the bus driver had to stop and make up behave. It is a lot difference now. Kids are so unruley. Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless everyone and keep you safe. ;)
-

I use public transportation every day in the city where I live. Our drivers are friendly and polite.

-
Yes i used to when I was in school it was fun.
-
I went to a semi-private school, and consequently, parents had to arrange rides for their children. So no bus riding for me, except for field trips. It was fun to ride on a bus then, but I'm not sure I would have enjoyed doing it every day.
