Do people still use these? Are they common?
-
I still use mine at the grocery and drug stores.
-
I still use my debit card at times (although I have been switching to my credit card)... People still use them if they have bad credit (other than prepaid cards or credit line limited credit card)
-
I still use mine also.
-
I am still using my debit cards.
-
I use my debit card all the time. Sorry....but I don't have bad credit, that was a stupid remark liquid fire . My checks go directly into my checking account and I pull the money out on my debit card. Why use a credit card and pay intrest when you have the money on your debit card?

I use my debit card all the time also. It is the easiest payment method. I also wondered about the "bad credit" remark. I have all of my millions earned from Fusion Cash paid into my PayPal account and I have the PayPal debit card as well as a debit card from my local bank checking account. My wife has some credit cards, but I cannot think of the last time I used one myself. It has NOTHING to do with my personal credit though, that is for certain!

I use mine all the time :) This is what my credit union gives out :)
Sorry Liquidfire_43 you might be missinformed if you assume its because people have bad credit
-
I use my debit card for smaller purchases but like to use my credit card also because it gives me points for airfare which my whole family can use
-
I still use mine as well. However I may understand what Liquidfire was talking about..... If you have good credit, banks will offer credit cards with extra benefits, like frequent flier miles, cash-back percentage, etc. As long as you pay off that credit card, you will not incur interest on those purchases. Thus the credit cards with benefits are actually better to use than just a debit card, but that also means that the person would have to have good credit in order to have such a card and can pay the full amount off each month. If a person has bad credit, however, then a debit card is a better option in that the interest rate on the credit card is probably very high, no extra perks for using the credit card, and most likely the person won't pay off the card each month, so those high interest rates will get tacked on.

I use my Paypal debit card as a credit card for all my online purchses for my ebay dropshipping business. I get cash back in my Paypal account every month because I use this debit card as a credit card.
-
I use my debit cards all the time and it's not because I have bad credit. In fact my credit is excellent.
-
I just used my PayPal debit card to sign up for a new program that will stuff more money in there for me to use. I assure you I do NOT have bad credit.
-
I used mine all the time.
-
i still use mine. you could use a debit card as a credit card or debit card and you are able to use them anywhere. its more easy then cash to use at stores and the money come out of your account.
-
I dont hve a debit card. Only use credits card that I get rewards for and pay off in full every month.
-
Well, my debit card has the visa logo, but i still use it as debit from time to time....
-
i have a debit but use it as a credit card..bank said it was safer that way
-
Banks still do offer debit cards and I have one, but I never use it because it does not give me cash back like my credit cards do. There seems to be very little, if any, incentive to actually use one.

I feel using my PayPal debit card to move money or spend it is incentive enough for me. Not only that, but they do give me a 1% rebate if I buy stuff with it.
-
Yes, debit cards are still being used today.
-
I still use a debit card and I don't have bad credit. With a debit card, I like the fact that the money comes out pretty much instantly, which means the money remaining in my account, is all mine! I don't do a balance enquiry and then find out some transactions have not gone through like with writing checks. So therefore I don't spend what I don't have = this means that I have good credit! Also, using a debit card means I don't have to worry about having cash on me all the time.
-
I still use my debit card, I have for years. I like the convenience of not having to carry a lot of cash.
-
I use my debit card at least once a month because I receive "points" at my Credit Union when I do. Other than that I use 0% APR credit cards that offer cash back. As long as I'm spending I might as well be earning, too.
-
My girlfriend uses one. I told her to get a credit card that has points that add up to cash but I have had no luck with that one yet.
-
I still use my debit card but not as often as I use to.
-
I have one, but only use it if I need to use an ATM. I use a credit card for everything. Better perks and the money doesn't come account for at least another month when the payment is due.
-
I think the remark about bad credit referring to the use of the pre-loaded cards offered by netspend and g-dot??? To have a debit card, must have a checking account? The pre-loaded cards are for those that have issues obtaining a checking account or credit card. I would die without my debit card, having actual cash in my pocket a rarity. Why carry cash when you just pull out your debit?? I'm still not understanding the benefit of the chip placed in the cards now, how does it increase secure transaction???
-
I am not sure what else people would use. Bit coin and e-wallets have not been tested long enough, writing checks is a bit archaic and I do not know of anyone that carries cash around. I suppose there is direct bill from your account but that doesn't help out when you are at the grocery store. I pretty much use my debit card for everything. Occasionally I will use my credit card to keep it active, and earn cash back on my purchases, but I do not like leaving a balance on there. I work way too hard to make a penny and I watch every cent going in and out Thanks to all I have learned over the years with Fusion cash. I usually leave all of my plastic at home and take one of my debit cards that is attached to an account that only has one hundred dollars in it so I am not inclined to over spend.
-
I have one but only use it for emergency when I need cash immediately. Unfortunately, I don't know how common they are.
-
well i dont use credit cards soi yah i use my debit is easier.

me too. good credit still using debit card where i live it is the method of payment everyone uses
-
I use mine regularly. Debit cards are fairly popular option. Now if you want to know when was the last time I wrote a check, I'm not sure I could tell you. It's been quite awhile.
-
People use debit cards a whole lot more than cash or even credit cards!
-
Yeah I still use it and I tend to think they are still real common. I can see how they may die out over time just because everyone is trying to earn points with credit cards.
-
All the time! Especially when I have the cash to pay it now instead of paying it off later when I may not have it.
-
I have one but never use it don't even know the pin. I use the credit card it's easier for me.
-
Almost all of my purchases are done with my debit card. I have had issues with credit cards in the past and I know myself well enough to know that I can't trust that as my main method for purchasing. I don't like to carry cash, so debit is the next best option.
I have a credit card that I use for recurring monthly expenses and larger purchases.
I prefer to use my PIN (vs running as credit).
I don't see an issue with it, for ME, it helps me manage my money better and stay within a budget.
Edit - I do NOT have bad credit. My issues were merely with spending too much and not staying within a budget.
-
I use my debit card all the time. I very rarely carry a lot of cash and the only time I write a check is to pay some of my bills that I have to mail.
-
I use my debit card for almost everything.
-
I do....for most everything.

Hello to everyone out there in Fusion Cash World;
I use a debit card with my bank.........and I enjoy using it. The idea is to, of course, deposit money into your bank account and then to use it to make purchases.
It works great for me!
-
I use my debit card all of the time. I very seldom carry cash with me any more. I used to not use the debit card because I didn't think it was safe but I have never had any issues with it. I just wish I had a reward program linked in to it!

If you want the rewards, why not use a credit card and pay it off each month with the money from the account your debit card is attached to? That way it won't cost you any more and the rewards can add up all year long.
-
It is the only card that I have through my bank. I do not have any major credit card. I think for me personally I love it! It was and is the best thing that was ever invented in our day and age.
-
Yep, I use my debit card all the time. It works for me and is very convenient. Just used it today at the grocery store.
